Other Games Tonight

OH BOY
-
Hugs going down
-
Buffalo beats West Viriginia at home. Buffalo is good but WVU should not be losing to them.
-
Oregon beats up on Eastern Washington with their star Bol Bol getting a double/double in 29 minutes against a team with no starter over 6’7”. Wow.
-
Oklahoma State was up 52-30 with 12 minutes to go and lost.
-
@BShark They lead by 18 at halftime, and LOSE. I’m putting them last in the B12.
-
Duke 67 ARMY 61 with 12 minutes to play. MAYBE KENTUCKY SUCKS.
-
Dang, missed it. They zone it?

With Kentucky needing free throws to beat SIU at Rupp, and Duke looking mortal today against Army, I think we can say that the annihilation in the champions classic game was in large part due to Kentucky sucking, and not so much Duke being so good that they could beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. Duke looked today pretty much how I expected them to look before the season began; Cam, RJ, and Zion doing a lot and the rest of the team not doing much. Thank goodness we don’t need to cancel the season and just give Duke the national title right now.
-
Michigan St. is looking good against FGCU. Up 59-35 at halftime.
-
Michigan St. 106 - Florida Gulf Coast 82
Nick Ward (25 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists) is very happy not to be playing against Doke.

It’s almost like this was a really good win.
-
MSU on 2 pt baskets
Against Kansas 38%
Against FGCU 61%
The defense was actually alright. They shot out of their mind from three and the refs called it super tight.

Controversial play to end the game. State up by 3 with 7 seconds left and they foul to send the other team to the line instead of hitting the 3. Typical foul but the refs call it flagrant so they get to shoot and made 2 FTs, got the ball out of bounds, inbound and hit a 3 to win the game.
-
Iowa St’s Wigginton is in a boot. Looks like he’s going to be out a while. Huge loss for ISU.
-
Future opponent alert:
Markus Howard of Marquette went for 37, 8 rbs with 7 3’s. Great shooter will be a tough matchup
-
@BeddieKU23 I keep saying they are going to be tough. Our perimeter defense better be ready.

Depends on how ‘on’ Howard is against us. I mentioned the older Hauser is the other matchup worry. They lack size though and will have to rely on perimeter shooting a great deal. That’s the worry though as you’ve said. We seem to always struggle guarding the perimeter

Texas ain’t it.
-
UTSA giving OU a game…
-
UT was an 18 pt favorite.
OU was only a 9 pt favorite on the road. UTSA has done well in the last few years.
-
UTSA lost to a D2 school in their first game. But definitely props to OU for going on the road early. Texas is shockingly bad but still undefeated, kinda funny.
-
The ESPN2 broadcast of Stanford/UNC seems to have magnified the crowd and the shoe squeaks. I can barely hear the announcers.
Anybody else notice this?
-
Michigan at Villanova and Marquette at Indiana are going to be interesting games to watch. I’m not going to make predictions because I’m self-imposing a prediction ban after taking Kentucky to beat Duke by 10-15. I want Marquette and Villanova to win because they’re on KU’s schedule.
-
Indiana (-5.5) and Villanova (-7) are playing at home and they should win.
-
@JayHawkFanToo - it will be interesting to see Romeo Langford play for Indiana. I don’t think he has much of a supporting cast.
-
I’ll take Marquette over Indiana tonight.
-
Indiana has several players coming back and is predicted to finish in the top 4. Archie Miller is a very good coach, perhaps the best of the younger coaches, and would be on my list of potential replacements for Coach Self when he retires.
-
I like Marquette straight up over Indiana. Indiana returns a worse team than Marquette, only Romeo is the difference. I don’t think he’s enough.
I think Duke covers the massive 26 point spread.
I think UK does not cover the massive 26 point spread.
I think Florida Covers and Nebraska Covers.
I like Michigan to cover and I like Michigan and Villanova to be under the 138 O/U.
I like Houston to cover the 24 point spread against Rice.
I like Boston College to cover.
I don’t like MSU to cover.
I like Arizona to cover against a truly awful UTEP team.
Notre Dame probably covers 12 on Radford.
Wyoming probably covers 13 on Grambling. Both truly awful teams though.
I like Saint Marys to beat NMSU, but it should be a good one.
-
Michigan up on Nova early in a rematch of the championship game
-
@BeddieKU23 Belein is a great defensive coach.
-
Doke would’ve had a T on that growl!
-
Woah, Michigan made about last season? Yeesh!

Michigan points against this season: 44, 37 and now just 13 points in 16 minutes for Nova…
-
@BShark They look fantastic. Amazing they are only ranked 18th.
-
Jay giving up?

Yeah, against Norfolk St. and Holy Cross… I expected Villanova to be a little different.
-
Jre, you wanna change your mind?
-
Apparently Brunson, Bridges, DiVincenzo, and Spellman were an important part of that team last season. Who knew.

I find it hilarious that Michigan, with a Kentucky cast-off (Charles Matthews) is better than Kentucky.
Belein doing it again here folks… Simpson #67 Poole #93, Livers #133, Teske #142
Best player development around!
@KirkIsMyHinrich Well yeah, but still.
-
@BShark I want Nova to win because it helps KU, but I can’t say I’m too sad about what’s happening right now.
-
I think Nova is saving all of their made field goals for the game in Lawrence.
-
So apparently Luke Yaklich has a lot to do with their defense. Interesting.
-
Per @ESPNStatsInfo, this is Villanova’s biggest halftime deficit since Feb. 3, 2003, when St. Joe’s led them by 28.
-
Soooooooo is the media going to talk about how BAD Jahvon Quinerly is? YIKES.
-
Dam , I turned on the game to Watch some Villanova - - Michigan. wouldn’t you know = all I got was a Michigan practice/scrimmage lmao’ - - I could of swore they were suppose to play. lol
Now I know they have a 2nd half - -but man Michigan all up in that Villanova ass - -lol , you think they miss the 4 that went to the NBA? -gonna be really really hard to come back from a 27 point deficit. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
I wonder what their low for a half is. It can’t be much fewer than 17 points.
