New 2019 Recruiting
-
Are you talking Stanley or Beverly?
-
Enaruna is 6’7, 6’8ish not that rumored 6’10. Long ways to go with this guy. Long and lean. Has tools but will take a few years
-
@BeddieKU23 Beverly.
-
I believe I said athlete that can shoot. Beverly is a capable 3 point shooter as far as I have seen from games this season. He is one of montverde’s best on the team
-
They was talking about needs yesterday in the recruiting segment , talking about how KU this year was NOT really that athletic -and saying how KU needed to recruit athletes.
They gave examples an said - -now if KU were to land Hurt & a guy like Precious - - -and add them to Oachi & Dotson? Then you would have a athletic team
-
Copied
Harlond Beverly and Achiuwa are playing at 2 pm central time on ESPN2.
-
Dam – Beverly just tearing it up - - has 22 points after 3 quarters - -ya think I like him - - like him a lot.
Precious there - Robinson Earle there. - -ROCK CHALK AL DAY LONG BABY
-
Beverly is a badass and we need him.
-
Well I know this has nothing to do with 2019 recruiting - or for that matter even 2020 but saw this and had to share give you a laugh for a Saturday hell even a laugh of the week but seen it thought I’d share it anyways:
See where we are in the top 5 for Bronny James - -listed his top 5. - In case this name doesn’t ring a bell - -He is Lebron’s kid - - lol- -he has UK - - N Carol - - Duke - - -KU - - -& UCLA as his 5 - -OH by the way he just happens to be 14 yrs old too lol.
Like others said this kid will never touch a College Basketball court. - -He has already said he would love to be able to play one year against his daddy before Lebron retires. - but hey made his top 5 - -people saying if he went College at all - -would be of course Duke - -go figure lol – OH quick little un-related side note for the people that thinks Lo - -stands for laughing out loud - -NOPE your wrong it stands for ( Low On Liquor ) - - -have a great day my friends. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@jayballer73 That totally sucks, being low on liquor
-
KU going after JUCO Jervay Green. Currently committed to Nebraska.
-
His dad roots for Duke.

Duke has a lot of tshirt fans.
-
@BShark I kinda understand why. If you’re a casual fan you need a relevant team every season. Duke, UNC, UK, and KU are the only teams that fit that billing currently. Three are far enough east, 2 are in the media darling acc. Pick you team, OADs are the rage Duke wins there.
Casual fans won’t wait on a team thru the down years.

Especially in Nebraska for some reason. Very odd.

I THINK IT WILL BE DUKE FOR HIM
-
RJ Hampton down to 4: KU, Duke, Memphis, UK, and will cut to 3 soon. Seems more and more likely he’ll end up in 2019. I think UK gets the axe
-
I’m legitimately wondering if Self will have 13 scholarship players next year. I mean legit KU players. I just don’t see how he is going to find 5 players this late in the game. Going to be fascinating to watch.

Seems like he is Duke bound regardless .
-
I doubt we get 13. It’s pretty hard for any program to get 13 legit guys in any given year.

Rumor is it’s not Duke if he reclassifies, but remains to be seen. He’s got an entire summer to get more classes if needed.
-
@FarmerJayhawk I am not talking about getting 13 top 100 kids and or immediate impact kids. I understand that’s not feasible in most cases. I’m talking about kids that actually belong at the KU level. We have already heard Self is combing through the Juco ranks. JC kids hardly ever pan out at the next level.

Right. I’m saying it’s really common for blue bloods to have one or two open every year. If a guy leaves unexpectedly a lot of times it’s better to keep it for the next year or for a mid year transfer than take a flier on a kid who probably isn’t going to cut it
-
I could care less how we do it but we need a full 13. Just to deal with guys who cant play via eligibility, injury, who knows what else but we are great at having a less then 100% roster by the time it matters

Self is going to have to channel his inner Roy and bring back everyone who’s on the margin of staying or going pro.

Shat. Looks like Tre Jones is going back to dook. Think that swings Hurt to them. I assumed he was gone.

Everything is leaning towards Duke way for hurt
-
@FarmerJayhawk why is that?

Hurt wants to play with a bunch of talented guards. If Duke’s situation was really unclear, like Goldwire/Ellis/grad transfer, it’s a lot less appealing to play there. KU with Dotson is appealing too, but seems like Hurt has bought into being RJ Barrett but a better shooter or whatever BS K sold him.
If Hurt signs with Duke, I REALLY want to lock up Shakur Juiston. I’ve always liked his game and he’s the kind of steady presence we could use. He’s also a really good passer. And then hope like hell we can pull Stanley or Grimes comes back. Which FWIW I’ve asked on Cassius and the plurality of folks think he’ll be a Jayhawk but nobody was very sure. Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he’d push his commitment date back.
-
@FarmerJayhawk thx, I wanted juice to start with, but I’m not sure where Self plays him. Wonder how his knee is?

Same here! Unfortunately for us he wanted to start and not back up Billy. Oops. I’m sure that’ll be part of the vetting process for every school. Assuming he’s healthy, sign him up

Sure looks that way. Long way to go though.
-
Sure looks like KU will add a bunch of guys we don’t even know the name of yet.

I think we’ll be following it into July. There will be some reclassifications (Dante, Hampton) and guys can graduate in the summer and transfer. Could be wild or pretty tame depending on Grimes, Doke, and Silvio. Get 2/3 and we’re set.
-
Here’s the list of guys I’m tracking:
Hampton Stanley Beverly Tucker Utomi Juiston Hurt Achiuwa Dante

Johnathan Givony seems to think Hurt will be at Duke
-
Same with Russ Wood and Cory Evans from rivals.com. Whoever they are
-
@FarmerJayhawk So…Does it looks like we have a good shot at Stanley or Beverly if Grimes leaves?

Corey at Rivals is legit. This one’s over guys.

At this point I’d say Stanley is more likely than Beverly, but with Charlie gone we’ll have room for both if Grimes leaves. Beverly isn’t a guy that you’d want playing 30 MPG as a freshman.
-
@FarmerJayhawk yeah he’s picking Stanley to choose KU. I’m sure you knew that already though

I knew he was bullish anyway

Who is this in regards too ?
-
Hurt
-
Damn . I have no clue how Self is going to fill this recruiting class, but if he does so effectively I will never question him again.
I’m not holding my breath though. It’s looking pretty bleak to say the least.
-
Nobody should be surprised that Nike wins that recruitment
-
It’s funny how new recruits seem to be scared away from SDSs allegations but not when it comes to Duke
-
… R.J. Hampton continues to round out his game. The five-star’s talent level and athleticism makes him elite right off of the bat. Now that he can defend multiple spots, create for others and himself and has filled out more, the production has followed suit. Kansas and Memphis are the front-runners, with Duke and Kentucky not too far behind.
