2020 Recruiting
-
@BeddieKU23 They definitely know each other, how deep it goes idk.
-
-
Not KU but Baylor has been cleaning up in 2020 recruiting so far. Already signed a Top 100 PG. Just signed a Top 50 Center. Two sit out transfers as well. Drew doing his thing.
-
@BeddieKU23 Recruit well, get swept by Bill. Rinse repeat.

Right now 2020-21 season, Oklahoma & Baylor look to have salty rosters if majority stay in place.
Baylor is full up on scholarships for 2 years right now. Obviously won’t last but its interesting strategy
-
@BShark do we know how Thompson’s visit went?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 it went well. I think he’ll be back in the fall for an official.
-
@BShark I’m pretty high on Xavier Foster, but if we can get this guy (who I’ve never heard of but seems to be a baller) I would be very happy. Is it just me or has there been a KU recruiting shift, concentrating mostly on four stars rather than a boatload of fives? I think there has been, and I’m all in.
-
I’d take either one for sure.

Nope. KU is still recruiting the burger boys as hard as ever.

Okie St officially hired Cannen Cunningham who is the older brother of Cade. I know that had been rumored, but made official today.

Strong move. Safe to not invest any more time into Cade for the staff.
-
Another bs move, he will be fired the yr he leaves or at the point he picks Kentucky
-
Ronnie Chalmers is chuckling …

Enh, I am pro this move. Anyone know if Xavier Foster’s dad can coach?

We got in right on time there.
-
Anyone remember us hiring Danny Manning’s Dad- when he was truck driving?
-
Well played, Mr. Boynton. I continue to be one of your fans.

Fans as well.
These moves rarely end up paying off for the coaches, fans alike. Porter and Methzu is a great example recently.
Maybe his bro is a good coach and deserves the chance. Cunningham is a sure-fire OAD so its not a huge impact long term

I want OSU to be good and relevant. It’s good for the Big 12, which is good for us.
@BeddieKU23 There hasn’t been much more of a complete disaster than the Porters at MU. It’s perfectly “MU.”

I wouldnt’ call it a “disaster.” The hype sort of sparked that program from the cellar back to mediocrity.

Back from “Kim Anderson” to normal Miz levels.
-
OSU isn’t exactly a recruiting powerhouse so I don’t fault them for doing whatever they need to do to land big-time recruits. They’re playing by the rules. The Big 12 could use good players anyway.
-
KU likes this guy. A LOT. https://247sports.com/Player/Mady-Sissoko-46051902/
Also was Enaruna’s teammate. Can’t hurt if he likes it at KU.
-
When I watched Enaruna’s HS team Sissoko stood out. Athletic rim runner with good size. He’s a catch and 1 move guy at best, rebound put-back, lob/dunk post player. Pretty similar to how Azubuike and Diallo were coming to KU. He’s the type of post Self lands.
-
Read where N’Faly Dante is visiting Kentucky this Summer and still may reclassify. I know he isn’t going to KU, but that would be a HUGE boost for UK if they got him for next year…
-
Honestly I doubt Dante goes to college. Overseas is a real option and there’s some question as to whether he’ll qualify.
-
Do you say in a runa or e naruna?

Good, good
-
@FarmerJayhawk I heard he can’t speak English well enough to pass act.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I don’t know anything about that but it seems very weird that the ACT and SAT are only in English. Not a fan.
-
@FarmerJayhawk I think armchair Kansas said that.
-
Also, happy Bryce Thompson day! I ran with some info I got earlier about him visiting last week which turned out to be inaccurate. My bad.

Did he not visit last week and you mean he’s on campus now?
-
@BeddieKU23 He is coming tomorrow
-
Crap, today is just Wednesday. Long week.
-
No wonder we didn’t hear much.
-
-
I heard that Ty Berry was on campus today for an unofficial
-
@FarmerJayhawk I mean, let’s be real, they are supposed to be taking classes (though in reality many of them are not) in American universities, right? What, do teachers need to be bi, tri or quad-lingual? And if not, why should the tests be in anything other than English?
-
@Marco they all take classes. Pretty tinfoil hat of you to suggest they aren’t. They’re just glorified intelligence tests, so people should get to demonstrate their intelligence in their preferred language. If they have to take some English in college, fine by me.
-
@FarmerJayhawk Maybe so… But the exams are in English, as they should be.
-
Why though? The US doesn’t have an official language so I see no issue with translating the tests.
-
BShark said:

Also, knowledge of a 2nd language doesn’t mean one is intelligent or stupid.
If they would “pass” the test in their native language it means they should qualify for college.
-
@BShark Probably because the courses are done in English, and if they can’t pass the exams then that pretty much means that they (though many athletes are not really there to study) will not be able to follow said courses, let alone learn much. Which would throw the whole scam into question, now wouldn’t it?
-
@Marco svi says hi!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 And he passed the exams, right?
-
@Marco I know he couldn’t hardly speak English when he got here, DG taught him!
-
That’s why we have interpreters, tutors. I’m not sure if you can’t have somebody read the test for you.
-

Svi might have taken the TOEFL instead.
