Today's Games

Welp. Kentucky’s road just got a lot easier.
-
KSU was handed a gift, a team with a victory hangover.
-
Feeling great about my Kentucky FF pick.
-
@BShark Vegas is pretty high on Buffalo for what it’s worth
-
@BShark Yes, I debated between UK and Arizona…went with Arizona because of Ayton…wish I could have that back.
-
@Buster-1926 Well in fairness, this loss wasn’t Bennett losing on just X’s and O’s tonight, this team wasn’t built to win this game. Their pace was too slow, 100% dependent on playing inside out, not terribly athletic and didn’t know what to do with Lyles (+ injury to hunter).
-
Any the south, which most including myself thought was weak and any team could win is turning into a cake walk for UK.

Cuse playing BE thug ball

Ultimately I went with UK because of Calipari vs Sean Miller in March.
-
Florida State abusing Missouri 42-20 at the half, 7 points from FTs and only 13 from the field for MU.
-
Not gonna talk about how I had Missouri in the EE tho.
-
I honestly feel bad for The Virginia players, they played great all year and had one terrible game UMBC shot lights out and played better than they could’ve dreamed of. KSU has a great shot to make the sweet 16. I really will be pissed if KSU goes further than us. I’m in shock I really am.
-
Not the same but reminds me of the 2010 loss. Must be very heartbreaking for that fan base as that loss was for ours. Basketball is evolving and the talent gap is closing. Seems like seeds mean less and less every year.
-
Syracuse can suck it. Man, how I despise that team and especially Boeheim.
-
Well looks like the Big 12 goes 4-3 in the first round. Sadly the 3 losses were games I felt that were given away. If OU or Texas would hit a modest perentage from the line or TCU wouldn’t have had some silly turnovers and missed a ton of open 3s.
-
So if TCU goes down…of the 4 B12 teams left…we have the toughest game…How the heck did that happen?

There’s always a downside to these things.
-
And there you have it… no 1 seed goes down to a 16
welcome to the essential nature of the ncaa hunger games.
Survive and try to advance
-
Go ahead and run all the stats and numbers and ranking and power indexes you can run about Virginia compared to UMBC.
It’s still college age kids playing a game against each other. It was eventually bound to happen 1 going down to a 16.
-
@tis4tim but they might slow down MSU

@SkinnyKansasDude The 2010 UNI loss is not even in the same ball park as this. UMBC is the worst rated team in the tournament in several formulas. UNI was a 3 loss team that was ranked in #23 in the country going into the tournament and a top 35 team in nearly every ratings that I saw. A 1 seed loses in the second nearly every year compared to a 16 seed never having won before tonight. The UNI was painful but not historically the biggest upset arguably of all time in the sport.

Michael Porter looks like a tool. He looks like Ball.

Well he did pick Missouri over KU…
-
@kjayhawks I literally just said it reminded me of it. We were the number one overall and lost very early in the tournament and it was a very painful loss. Thank you for taking the time to explain the magnitude of this loss though. Even though all of social media has been talking about it for the last 2 hours your explanation really was the best. Great job.
-
@SkinnyKansasDude Please stay with rational discussion and leave out the personal attacks.
Unless you’re talking about Missouri players. Then feel free to call them tools
-
Porter did not help himself playing this late and not looking good. He will now move to the NBA having won zero games in college; no wonder he was crying at the end of the game.
I bet Ayton was also crying thinking why did I not pick Kansas?
-
@JayHawkFanToo add Trae to your list
-
@Bwag - Man, could you imagine the discontent on this team among our guards, playing time-wise and shots-wise, if Young would have come here? Not sure we would have been a better “team” with Young. Ayton on the other hand, well, I wish we would have bid $110,000.
-
With Ayton KU would have been a heavy favorite…or even Preston…
-
There is a very large gap between Ayton and Preston. Still it would have been nice to get anything out of Billy.
-
I always wonder how deflated Trae’s stat line would have been if he played for Bill Self? I am not sure that Trae would have played his way in to the draft lotto if he were on our team? I personally think he made the right decision to showcase his talent to make the big bucks.

Worse for me personally…

Definitely not going to be close to the same usage rate. I agree he made the right choice.

I saw this item this morning … the biggest upset in the tourney, as far as the spread goes, is still Norfolk St. over Missouri. MU was favored by 21 1/2. Apparently UVA was favored by 20 vs. UMBC.
-
@HighEliteMajor But missouri only lost by like three. Virginia was blown out.
-
@Kcmatt7 Pretty good for KSU to win without their best big man… oh yeah KU did that too!
