Looks like a four guard offense with a 6’8" big. Looks good for Mitch.
-
@wrwlumpy didn’t know you use pixlr. Love that site.

Looks like a 2-10 team.
-
@BShark they are actually 3-10
-
We need a pud on the schedule right now.
-
@blackmild33 Yep they won today, isn’t odd to play back to back days? I realize Lawrence is a short drive.
-
I see they lost to Oklahoma by 19 - -and to TCU by 33 - -for comparative scores. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@wrwlumpy crash or no crash, great collection as always. Thx! I especially love the one where the gorilla is observing the humans at the zoo.
-
I expect the game to be close unless Saturday’s win was the jolt mentally this team needed. Would love to see them come out and put Omaha away by 20+ at half. We’ll know in the first half tonight if these guys took anything from that win.
-
It’ll be my boy’s first Allen Fieldhouse experience today. I fully expect a 20 pt. blowout and a lot of fun to be had by the ‘Hawks.
-
@dylans Enjoy!!!
-
@dylans Even if it should finish in a squeaker I hope our bench earns lots of minutes today. Rest Newman.
-
@REHawk I hope Newman gets that much needed rest. But if KU plays the 4-1 exclusively there isn’t enough guards to rest anyone much. It’s a major dilemma.
-
Great pix as always.
I’ve got plenty of Omaha memories. Used to go up to Ak-Sar-Ben racetrack every now and then. Just after graduation my KU girlfriend and I hit the daily double there. We drove back to Lawrence through the worst thunderstorm I can remember…had to pull off the highway a few times before the skies cleared to give us a glorious red sunset. After we got back to town we toasted our good fortune with Chivas at the Sanctuary club, upstairs from the Stables.
And as a high schooler I got to shake hands with Bobby Kennedy when he was speaking at the auditorium there, just a month before he died in LA.

I realize we have been struggling but -how do we drop another notch from 13 to 14th when we win? - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONGBABY
-
@nwhawkfan some fun memories!
-
-
Then they became just the Kansas City Kings, went to the Western Division Finals and then Cleveland money took our best players and of course the roof caved in.
-
@wrwlumpy …Another Omaha-related memory, sort of…
Before I transferred to KU I went to Rockhurst College (now Rockhurst U), where the KC-Omaha Kings had their practices. I had a student job in the athletic department and used to watch Archibald, Lacey and the others go through their paces. (My favorite player was a tall bald guy named Toby Kimball.) They always seemed to come up short in the playoffs, then when they got good, the owners hauled them off to Sacramento.
-
I have one Omaha memory, and it ain’t good … circa 2015.
-
@BeddieKU23 Omaha is quite possibly the worst team on KU’s schedule this year, no reason this shouldn’t be a 30+ point win tonight.
-
Wow, the Sanctuary…it was my home away from home when I lived in Lawrence late '70s to late '80s. Tuesday dime draw and Thursday quarter pitcher nights were the best; they also had great specials on burgers and steaks. I knew the owner, Ace, and his wife and all the bartenders and often we would stay after hours to party and shoot pool for decent money. Best looking waitresses to boot.
-
This is a get-right game. A chance for guys to find their mojo again. I’m hoping for strong performances from Newman and Cunliffe.
-
@JayHawkFanToo Yeah, I mostly hung out downstairs at The Stables. As I recall, it was the first tavern in Lawrence to have an Atari Pong machine.
-
By the early 80s I believe it was called just the Sanctuary, The deck upstairs was great in the Summer. I used to see KU basketball players, including Manning, there all the time.
