African Post Pipeline
-
@HighEliteMajor Yes, him too.
-
Just read the article on kusports. There are a lot of fantastic quotes from this kid. Sounds articulate, confident, humble and family oriented. That’s a great mix to add to his apparent tenacity on the court. This is really wonderful news.
-
Despite my poor attempt at humor I am excited about this kid coming to the Naismith Court next year.

@wissox He is actually related to Jon Phillip Sousa, so him and Billy Preston will lead us to a melody of wins.
Perhaps conduct the team to march into April for a second straight year.
-
@joeloveshawks like BIFM
-
@mayjay That too.
-
@wissox Maybe your humerus bone was the culprit.
-
-
Wow! How valuable is an open scholarship when recruiting?
-
I’m going to go out on a limb here, and say that this kid is good. Really good. Lightfoot good.
I know. For shame. I do love me some Lightfoot!

African post pipeline. “… following in the footsteps of Cheick Diallo …”
Not the African we’re thinking of, I bet.

Embiid and Doke. Well, Cheick was part of it too of course even if he didn’t really play at KU. So 4 in 6 classes.
-
Moulaye Niang!
He really cracked it open for us!!!
-
-
@BShark Hope he plays like the OAD he thinks he’s going to be.
-
@approxinfinity I don’t believe our open schollie has anything to do with Silvio committing to Kansas. We will have lots of open scholarships available next year. Sure glad to have him, and hope it opens the door to several more top recruits to follow. (Dotson or Quickley, Grimes, Z. Williamson, etc.
-
You guys are right. I was way off. For some reason I was thinking that Jacobs was a 2018 commit and forgot we have 2 senior schollies. Clay isn’t on scholarship right? Whew. Gotta get my head back in bball mode!
-
Like JoJo and Diallo, the NCAA will find some reason to disrupt his pt. He will likely go through some bogus eligibility check.
Who wants to bet? Regardless of his legitimate record, they will find some lame reason.
-
So: how tall is de Sousa?
Is he considered a 5 star, or an OAD?
Has Self finally broken through and signed an OAD 5?

I don’t remember that with Embiid and everyone knew that the Diallo situation would be a mess, it was well documented and a big reason Cal didn’t make a harder push. Silvio has been at IMG and was at Montverde before that. Legitimate schools and also solid coaching at the HS level.
-
@BShark Yep! This was started with Joel Embiid! Followed by Cheick, Udoka and now Silvio. I expect this kid will unpack his bags at KU the way Josh did last season. If he does…watch the frak out. Ive never seen him play but from this video he looks like a beast to me.
-
@jaybate-1-0 Nope. He’s a power forward. He’s also African, not American. Until we sign a good old fashioned American 5-star center, your embargo theory remains difficult to refute.
-
Hope dashed

@HighEliteMajor Practically every one of Louisville’s bigs have been African. Louisville is another Adidas school.
-
adidas = soccer and track in Europe, Africa and Latin America
If adidas were to have EVER let Nike in that action in a big way, Nike would probably not have played rough in North American basketball, or so it appears in retrospect.
