50th Thread About Purdue - Interesting KU stat
-
Was thinking about just posting this in one of the Purdue threads, but ultimately decided to make a thread for it.
Credit a poster on the Phog. KU is 1-3 this year in games where the opponent shoots 20 or more threes at a 40%+ clip. The one win was at Rupp, oddly enough.
Why is this relevant? Purdue shoots just over 40% on ~22 attempts per game.

Seth Greenberg from ESPN is picking KU over Purdue.
-
@JayHawkFanToo Wow, really going out on a sparsly populated limb, is Seth?
-
Worthy of it’s own thread!
-
""This game will come down to pace,” Greenberg said. "The faster it is, the better for Kansas. Purdue’s got to take care for he basketball. Live ball turnovers with Frank Mason and Josh Jackson are basically scoring opportunities.
“You’re going to see (Purdue’s) Caleb Swanigan at the 5 and Vince Edwards at the 4, their best chance to win. I still like Kansas in this game and I think they’ll speed the game up.””
I couldn’t agree more!

The X-factor here is the “home court advantage”. Does anyone know if the refs are local? Just curious?

@Statmachine I would not be opposed to KU being in the opposite situation as last year where a referee from Philly worked a Villanova NCAA tournament game. Give us a KC based ref with no ties to KSU or MU and I’ll take that.

I want Ed Hightower in this game. For those of you who do not remember, he was the ref at the '88 and '08 Finals…worked out well for KU.
