@BShark yeah. its hard to say never, given how much we force Rylan minutes last year. We'll see.

Looking a little more at NCState. They have 3 losses against the only teams that are major teams they've played. Their 3% is noticably lower in 2 of those 3 losses, around 30%. Against Texas they shot 48% but at a relatively low volume going 9-19. They've feasted on an easier schedule. Home court will give them a boost of course, but we should be all right otherwise.

Things seem to be settling down. Happy to offer support with anything if you need.

@bskeet nice, thanks. favicon has been flaky for me, my chrome still shows the wrong one, but I tried to set it.

We haven't allowed a team to break into the 30% range I don't think so maybe we can mitigate that. We are shooting a respectable 34% which is our best in a while. We have averaged 7.1 3 balls made this year which can go up to 9 with DP back. He opens things up.

I'm excited to see us play NC-State. I do business with a lot of Wolfpack grads... so we better win! It will come down to perimeter defense, and with the speed we have we just need to put in a solid effort to limit their 3 percentage.

Tiller - I'm not expecting him to heat up from 3 soon, unless some things change. As I'm thinking back to the Duke game where he got hot, I think that was from the top of the key, where he usually isn't taking 3s now. He has an issue on his shot. When he catches the ball from a side, he makes it one motion with his shot. Even though it will take just an extra split-second... he needs to gather a bit. Bring the ball into his body, align on the basket, then go up and shoot. If he learns that, he will become a solid 3 shooter. I just don't see it right now with his current method.

You can see the makings of a good shooter in Tiller. He needs reps and experience; kid missed over 12 months of basketball then had a shortened offseason recovering from the injury and is starting which I'm not sure many expected coming into the year. A lot has been thrown at him in a short amount of time. You see the touch he has at times on short jumpers and from 3 when it all comes together. I'm not surprised we are seeing some struggles, but I also don't think they are long-term. Agree on his mechanics and probably something they are working on but may require a full offseason to fully correct. We'll likely get "hot and cold" games until there's development there.

If we are thinking ahead to next season (I know way too soon), he seems like the "must retain" guy on the roster. We really lucked out getting him committed, getting him in early for rehab. He was a 5-star kid in his original class, and you can see why. This was excellent work by the staff to keep him away from Auburn/Indiana which were also in on him.

                        Nice post!

Yes... I think he is sort of next year's Bidunka we need to retain.

He doesn't have Bidunka's energy, which will be sorely missed, but he has a lot more offensive skills. I just saw an interview with him where he mentions they are trying to get him to play more aggressive, and push most into the paint for his baskets.

Bidunka is still very rough on the offensive side.

I think his draft stock is still pretty low. I expect him to stay in college another year or so.

I'm not even sure about Bidunka's draft stock. It's going to be a competitive year this year, and next year should not be this competitive (but who knows).

I also discovered we might challenge Mel's eligibility to try to keep him another year! Wow!
