KU vs. Louisville

Council and White have over half our points. Outside shooting is awful. Inexplicably defense not very good either. Given size and mobility, you would think we could really defend the perimeter, but not the case tonight.
-
Ya pretty ugly showing tonight I really don’t like our exhibition games this year too many good teams. Want to build up the comp.
-
So much for our depth. Don't have stats available, but I think that White, Council and Stokes have more than 60 of our 81 points.
-
Stokes can pass.
-
Once again the number 1 recruit we sign looks like the 5 or 6th best freshman. Case needs to go if he’s still recruiting. Strokes doesn’t look like an NBA player at all.
-
I have very little faith moving forward that this team can win the conference. Same defects as the last 3 years, no consistent shooters or rebounding. I’m calling a first weekend exit yet again.
-
Louisville is loaded. I liked what I saw from Dawes and Blyden as experienced and hard nosed. Stokes was fine we will take it if teams want him to shoot 15 free throws a game and there will be a bunch of and ones coming. White and Council I hope they both can stay. I don't want to stifle Kinney though Self might. Mbiya was active and did okay I thought. Just an exhibition game but I don't like losing anywhere especially in Allen and Duke coming in will throw a bunch of talent at us. We got out shot by them with the 18 year old 7'2" frosh killed us outside and controlled the paint.
-
@Tallturd1 I don’t think it’s any reason to panic but instill stand be hind my post this team is going to mirror the last couple prob finish 4-7 in the conference and be gone after the first weekend. Ya that 7’2 guys better than any freshman we have had in a long time. Minimum Josh Jackson maybe Embiid or Wigs.
-
Well I hope they can get TKR for sure eligible. The other bigs are not Natty quality.
This rotation is getting trimmed to 7 real guys come conference play in true Self form. That was all I needed to see.
Council, Kinney, Stokes, White, TKR, Dawes, and pick a guy. This team is better playing small ball imo so I hope a guard but I could see Mbiya. Obviously you’ll have some games where other guys play but they aren’t playing 9-10 guys routinely.
I do think they can be a contender once they tighten up the D. And they will tighten up the D. Too long and athletic to not become a good defensive team

Not sure what there was to like about Blyden tonight, or vs Pitt St. he’s really gotta step up his game and produce. Stripped twice at least today. Didn’t seem confident or very aggressive. One successful drive is a start I guess.
Only an exhibition of course. Still time to sort the rotations and let the new guys get comfortable.
Not seeing a superstar in Stokes so far. He’s got a ways to go. Or Self needs to figure out how and where to get him the ball. His bully ball at least got him to the line, but looks clumsy. Nice passing touch though.
And we held Flory dunk-less!?
