OCTOBER 8: Rice’s Tuesday procedure was a success, veteran insider Jordan Schultz reports. He will indeed miss the remainder of the campaign after the surgery repaired his LCL in addition to his hamstring. As hoped, though, no such repairs were needed on Rice’s ACL or meniscus and a full recovery is expected. Rice remains attached to his rookie contract through 2026.

@rockchalkjayhawk Saleh demoted Hackett to give the play-calling duties to another guy, and then got fired. Escorted out by security. Woody talked with Aaron Rodgers before the firing but says AR had no input.

Brock Purdy & the Niners are 1.5 pt favorites over the Chiefs Sunday. That doesn’t seem right to me. The Niners are 3-3 with losses to the Rams and Cardinals. I fully expect the Chiefs to dominate this. Of course when I expect a win-well you know…

The Niners are slightly off their game so far this season. But like the Chiefs they’ve had a ton of significant injuries to deal with. They may be without yet another starting RB (CMC now Mason) this week. Btw, if Mason was on KC, you’d love him. Kinda like Pacheco.
But their base model is still exceptional, and they’re at home, so the 1.5 point spread isn’t a total surprise. They have a ton of offensive weapons. I don’t expect either team to dominate.
Should be a close game IMO.

4 long years of Brock Purdy standing in the pocket and pummeling the Jayhawks. And now, we have to endure Mr. Irrelevant as the Niners QB, who are still 1.5 pt favorites over the 5-0 Chiefs. l’m sure hoping Mahomes has a great day and the KC defense rips Purdy apart.

Niners are now 2 pt favs. The 5-0 Chiefs are underdogs to the 3-3 Niners. Please don’t tell me this would be a good loss for the Chiefs. I hope Chris Jones and company break Purdy into many small pieces.

Yea, I think this game mostly comes down to how well the Chiefs D plays. The two defenses are comparable, but the 49ers aren’t as strong as they’ve been in past seasons.
I sadly think that Bosa goes ape shit on the edges. If that results in a turnover or two, that could be the difference.
Otherwise, the 49ers offense has the edge. Third Down And Jajuan (Jennings) is out, so that helps. They’re on their third kicker, too.
Living in the Bay Area, I can tell you that the 49ers and their fans are fired up.

@rockchalkjayhawk one has to keep in mind revenge factor helping Niners, they most likely circled this game when schedule came out.

The Jets are such a shit show, pretty much have Green Bay’s offense from a few years and the defense isn’t living up the hype either.

The jets thought Rodgers was their miracle man. I was glad to see him go, Aaron is all about me , me , me -just full of drama. - Now the Jets see what they got - -I’m perfectly happy with Jordon Love , kind of a loose cannon but in time he will get that straightened out.- -Rogers is done, he is past his best years and just needs to retire
The Jeets thought as soon as they got him it was oh my God we are going to the Super Bowl – ummm NOPE Aaron was really good in his prime - - -now not so much.

I think he is not going to deep threat nor will get many yards after the catch, however, from what I have heard he is still a very solid route runner who does not drop many passes and will be good for intermediate passing attack.

Looks like Skyy Moore has been placed on IR with a mysterious “core muscle” injury.
There must be cap implications. Not sure why they haven’t just cut him outright.

@rockchalkjayhawk Skyy counts against the cap while on IR. They could save 700k by cutting him. I’m not sure what they see in him. Can’t catch. Too small to be a great blocker. He’s not fast, so Mecole is better on jet sweeps. The RB room is full so no place for him there as a gadget guy. Probably time to cut bait and see if he can get his head straight elsewhere.

Denver v. Baltimore is getting ready to start. KC still has to play Denver twice and the Denver defense is number 1 in several categories. Oh yeah, and Bo Nix is playing pretty darn well. So, Bucs, then the Broncs; an interesting 8 days for KC. And the last day for trades is Tuesday.

Jawaan Taylor restructured his contract to free up $5.5 million so the Chiefs could trade for Hopkins and Uche. He is playing much better this year with far fewer penalties. Of course, with LT position in chaos other teams probably made the Chief’s left side the main point of attack.
