CBS broadcast. Raftery on the call, saw him post a video inside Allen yesterday.
Ernest Udeh returns to KU for the first time. He isn’t lighting the world on fire for TCU so far but you can bet today will be different.
Conference opener. Let’s start this gauntlet the right way

Ugg Raftery is east coast New Jersey annoying. Grating voice with no insight to the game. But in the positive side he will talk about someone’s balls, I mean onions at some point. Just a weird fascination he has.
Good grief I miss Max and Bob. Back when it didn’t matter who called the game on the tv, because the radio was always on. Hannini or whatever his name is just doesn’t do it for me, hopefully they will replace him before he ages out. He’s very young though so we may very well be stuck with him for a the next 30 years.

I road the bench for state title teams and started for losing teams. I know which was more fun for me and it wasn’t playing more.

I like Raftery. I like Hanni too. These are a few of my favorite things. Sounds like I’m starting a fight with Dylans, but I’m not!

@wissox to each their own. I like Jay Bilas. Not a popular figure around these parts, but he’s smart. I don’t usually like “color” guys unless they are total KU homers. It makes the drivel easier to handle.

Why doesn’t the tech exist to sync the radio broadcast with the streaming game? Seems like it oughta be possible.

If the announcers get too annoying, I put up with the slight delay and listen to KU radio on my phone… extremely knowledgeable and biased towards us is nice. Too bad they don’t cover the big dance.

AI just needs to get a little better so I can request a live KU broadcast in Max Falkenstein’s voice and speech pattern. With Bob Davis as his partner. I just can’t get past the horrible canned radio announcer voice of the new guy.

Hanni seems to have toned down the 1970’s FM DJ voice from the back of the throat. Even if I get the radio and TV synced, something changes and it’s off again. And, I can’t post in real time on Buckets. So, I mute the TV announcers and don’t miss much at all. 95% is worthless jabber anyway.

Difference there is you didn’t have realistic NBA expectations whereas Udeh did coming out of HS. Riding the bench at KU didn’t seem like the best path forward for Udeh to achieve that goal. At the end of the day, for most of these players, college is a business to help players achieve professional goals. A lot of P5 players do end up playing professional basketball somewhere around the world once their college careers are finished.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I still think his best path to the NBA was thru Bill Self. There is a history of developing talent. Udeh is raw, he needs developed. Maybe TCU can do it, but I know Bill could. He just chose the path of least resistance to playing time. Not necessarily the best path to the nba. Time will tell if he develops or not.
And it could prove to be the right path even if he doesn’t develop into an nba talent; at least he can play the last few years he can. The NBA is a tough nut to crack, I don’t know if any of the current Jayhawks will even stick and they are better than him.

Saw a reminder that this team walloped us last year in AFH. Also, watching this game waiting for ours I don’t understand the scheduling of games for national TV. Why did these teams, both unranked get this exclusive treatment over other games? OU-ISU on ESPN+ for example should be a great game. South Carolina is 12-1 and unranked…hmmm, SOS anyone? Same with miss st. 11-2, not ranked. Although that crowd sounds loud enough I can pretty much guarantee there’s thousands of empty seats there. I don’t get it except i guess the SEC is that desired to televise.
