Why does KU still have the starters in at this point? KU isn’t winning at this point and we already know how badly an injury can ruin a game/season. No need to risk Neal, Hishaw, or any other starter getting hurt.

Congrats to Central Florida for their impending first B12 win against a real Big 12 opponent Baylor. BYU got their first win, but against a fellow interloper Cincy last night. By the way apparently Central Florida gets irked being called that so henceforth on these pages, although it’s easier to type UCF, they will be Central Florida.

I know Jason Daniels is the best QB KU has, but it’s frustrating for me as a fan to see him prep all week with first string and then not play. Shouldn’t Bean be getting equal reps at this point?

@Gorilla72 supposedly he aggravated his back during warms is what I’m hearing. Just unfortunate all around, Bean is capable but that was not his best game. I agree with @Texas-Hawk-10 we probably don’t win with JD but I bet we would’ve took the lead a time or two and ultimately lose by 10-14. The game felt closer than the final for much of it. The defense just got gassed late, Texas had over double the number of offensive plays as us. Jason even on that last 4th down could’ve easily ran and got it. Play calling wasn’t good imo either but it probably changes with JD in there.

It’s ONE game on the Schedule, just like if would be if we won , it’s ONE game either way - - -like has been mentioned as poor as the offense was like has been mentioned we were within striking distance through three quarters
- -They need to regroup and really focus on Saturday. We were playing on house money anyways in this Texas game, I bet you couldn’t find 5 guys in here that actually thought we would win this game. -Yet here is the thing if Students waver - - If the fans waver and now start to disappear for upcoming games - - -that’s not a fan - -well ya it’s a closet fan, - -you know what a closet fan is - -a person who puffs that chest out, thumps that chest when it’s all good. Yet when things go bad -it’s like OH NO they aren’t my team. . It just goes to show actually how far this team HAS COME… - - It’s went from being happy with one or two wins trying to stay close to now we are disappointed when we lose or play poor. Before we lose and play poor the mentality was eh TYPICAL GAME & it’s good to feel that way, just means we got interest in our football program again. - -Yet here is the thing, if fans start not showing, quit showing up and supporting the team – if students don’t show - - Lance is already upset with Students leaving, it’s also Lance and the Coach from Washington State are considered serious contenders for the Michigan St job.
If fans walk away , don’t show support-- -if students don’t start sticking around longer Lance very well might say Screw and we will return back to a warm pile of Dod Doo and may have one game win Seasons - -THAT’S ONE THING - - -WE DON’T WANT

It may sound crazy considering the amount of yards and point given up, but the defensive scheme and execution was actually good especially the first 3 quarters. That was the blueprint to beat Texas for the Kansas squad but the offense just fell apart. A few sustained drives in the first half from the offense would have COMPLETELY changed that game.

Been reading some other KU sites. Some of these comments are historical beyond funny. - Holy shit people someone needs to bitch slap some people. I’ve had four Back operations . I have spacers on both sides of my body I’ve had my back fused -I’ve had a bone from sterile cadabor -I know not spelled right, I have titanium screws in my spine - so I got a pretty good idea with back injuries. If he has back issues then I understand. it’s like my surgeon told me were not ever going to eliminate the problem were just going to try and make it more manageable.
Yet some of these things I’m reding off posts is just - - -DAM - get that crap out of here & grow the hell up. - I’m so sure he is making this crap up - -yet believe wht you wanna think, we know you will anyways

Heard a lot of chatter this week about this call. A lot of fans wondering why not just sneak it? I’ve heard two pretty decent arguments for the call but would be interested if anyone here has any others.
The first is that KU by running that play was staying true to their identity as an offense. And many have pointed out that with proper execution, the call itself probably would have worked. I can buy this. I’ve seen a ton of praise for Andy K and his creativity as a OC. Why change in the biggest moment?
The second is that UT’s strength on their highly talented Defense is the D line, specifically the tackles. Meaning a sneak would be going right at their absolute best players. Would KU’s O line have been able to get significant push against the best players on that Texas D? This argument works for me as well.
The third argument I’ve heard, doesn’t hold as much water for me. That is the one where maybe Bean hasn’t practiced much under center and is more comfortable in the shotgun. Going under center for a sneak would be risking a muffed snap and a turnover in an important situation. Two reasons this argument sucks. 1. Bean is a quarterback, he has to know how to take a snap under center. If we are afraid of a turnover from that, why in the world give him the biggest decision of the game on a triple option that guess what, ended in a fumble!? 2. We’ve seen KU run a successful sneak this year. It was called back because of a penalty. But the person taking the snap wasn’t Bean, wasn’t even JD, it was Jarod Casey! My fan brain with hindsight says put Casey under center on 4th and inches and let him be the Hero in Austin AGAIN.
But alas as the great Jackson Browne wrote, “And while the future’s there for anyone to change, still you know it seems, It would be easier sometimes to change the past.”
