Matt Painter is easily the dumbest coach ever to coach in D1.
He lit up FDU when he said it was disrespectful that they said they could beat them. How dumb. So he insinuated there was no chance for FDU to win.
He should be fired. If I was a Purdue fan I would want his head on a block.
But I’m not… so instead I say “YIPPEEEEEEEE!”

FDU was 20-15 coming into the game. Their best win all year was…actually they didn’t have a single good win. Only P5 school they played was Pitt and they lost by 22. Pretty remarkable…

They are also only in the tournament because Merrimack wasn’t allowed in. They lost their conference title game to them.

The first two days have shown us there are a lot of good players that are not in the power five conferences. Lots of big guys.

Read thru the comments. Was watching, but kids were over tonight so no chatting. If KU doesn’t win, I’d rather see a BIG team win the whole thing (except Iowa of course). Brutal. I’m speechless. My best friend from HS is a Purdue grad and I’ve always liked them to a degree. Not enough for this loss to sting thankfully. What an embarrassment. FDU seemed to have a plan to try to knock the ball out of Purdues hands as often as possible. Really shocking how much they controlled possession in this game when balls were up for grabs.

Appreciate your conference loyalty, @wissox. I don’t have it. Not for the B12 either. I grew up an Illinois fan and I left that state and conference in 1984 despising several teams and coaches in the big 10 to this day. Bobby Knight, Gene Keady, Lute Olson, George Sweatsuit Raveling. Wisky was cellar dweller at that time with Yoder if I recall. I guess I could root for Northwestern.
