Interesting game, lot of minutes from the bench. Some good minutes and some not so good but experienced gained in a really tough game
-
Just win tomorrow guys and we will for sure be in Sunday
-
What’s the latest on coach Self? can someone give me an update? thanks
-

Great minds on that one. I was frustrated when we were sucky on an out of time out play when I tweeted that iirc
-
@BShark I believe you. But I’m watching you.
-
@FarmerJayhawk good to hear, thanks
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich Juan is like an STD, just really hard to get away from him
-
@jessejayhawk he did get away from Dick
-
@Crimsonorblue22 But not on Juan
-
@Crimsonorblue22 But Dick got him in the end

I know some would like an early exit for rest, but I like the experience. I think it’s good for the freshmen to play several one and done games to get their nerves taken care of. Switch over to third phase of the season; the learning curve is steep - take advantage of any extra games.
As for tomorrows game, if you’re playing you just as well win it
-
@dylans As long as we have Kevin for the NCAAT this is optimal.
-
We GOT PAYBACK for the Longhorns - -lets give them something to remember us by when they tuck tail for the SEC - Tomorrow is our day - - PAYBACK
-
KU - now is now 30-6 in the T-Mobile Center since the beginning
-
@jayballer67 since the name change from sprint center?

Well Said- - couldn’t agree more. The conference championship would be nice BUT we have other BIGGER GOALS. - like you said if we have too rest Kevin until next week now, we need his defensive presence

I believe that’s what Hanni just said in postgame
-
@jayballer67 isu won 4 of the last 9 and Texas one, so that’s 5 losses in 9 tournaments (no 2020). I can’t recall the rest. Needless to say KU is good. I can’t remember when that glassy erection went up - maybe Dick knows?

Ya I’m sure if anyone would know -Dick knows

@jessejayhawk said “Juan is like an STD, just really hard to get away from him”. Come on man, would you like to be compared to a STD and have it be considered something positive?
As for the Dick jokes, just a reminder it’s also a name people have and whom we love. I know it’s going to be used forever now as a crude term, but it’s also a junior high joke that adults think they’re being clever saying them.

@wissox My grandmother inlaw reaallly enjoyed calling her husband Dick. (Richard to everyone else)

Had to watch on DVR again. A few random thoughts.
Jalen hot start, kind of felt like game over right there even though ISU did come back and briefly (once I think) took the lead before we pulled away.
Early in the game our least favorite broadcaster got some sort of award during a TV timeout. A little hard to tell from just watching but the fans sure gave him a lukewarm round of applause. Not sure if other fans don’t like him either, but it seemed somewhat obvious.
End of the half a great sequence, turnover leads to a Bobby (I think) runout and a pass to a cutting DaJuan who tapped it over to ready to slam it KJ Adams.
Great to see Jalen start making some 3’s again, but now he has a 4 miss streak after making his first 3 early in the game.
Courtney Ramey just made a 3 for Zona. Seems like he’s got to be 30 years old if this is the same Ramey that played for Texas.
I thought our defense was outstanding.
Kev should sit tomorrow and against whatever 16 seed we play next Thursday or Friday.
Would you trade Fran for Bill Walton?
We should recruit Gianni Cobb, an all state player in his division in Illinois. I taught him. I’d love to see him wear the Jayhawk uni!
Wisconsin fans still say the Badgers beat KU because Zach’s foot was touching out of bounds when he tapped the ball out to Bobby (or was it Joe?) for the game winner. It was really close, but it was never reviewed.
High school playoffs, NCAA D3 tournament Wheaton (my wife, my dad, and my daughters all graduated from there) playing in the quarterfinals tomorrow against some guy named Christopher Newport, Conference tournaments, selection Sunday, the great visual spectacles of the Players Championship (talking golf now) and the Masters, All day madness for four days in a row a week from now, brackets, Cinderellas, (I once had a student named Cinderella), and then to top it off almost simultaneously with the last day of the season, MLB starts up and now ends approximately the day we play FT. Hays, or Emporia or Topeka YMCA in a warmup game. They call it March Madness because my wife is mad because she can’t watch any of her shows! Then Easter! And then, at least for those in my profession, Spring Break!
See you all tomorrow, I’ll finally be able to live chat a Jayhawk game. Maybe @BShark will let me start the game thread!!
-
@dylans In my case it was my father in law who just passed away this summer.
-
@wissox no on game thread! We are on a winning streak!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I hear ya, but I need to clear my name that I was to blame for that loss a month ago!!
-
Nice win today. The guys seemed fairly relaxed, huh. I’m honestly surprised the way they have won two games so far without Self. I thought that would be a tough, emotional task.
There was some sloppy play for sure today, but maybe that’s just back to back games?
Udeh! When he stole the ball mid court and made his way to the rim, I was rolling on the floor. Awesome energy! Need that from him.
-
We’re a #1 seed, win or lose. We owe Texas payback, so let’s finish it out and take the #1 overall seed.
-
@wissox I’d rather have a pedantic know-it-all who is wrong half the time, but is pretty impertubable, than be subjected to the rantings of a guy whose temperament seems to be a bipolar combo of stoned and methed.
-
@mayjay I’ll respond after I get out my dictionary and figure out what you just wrote!
OK, I get it. Not me, I’d rather listen to the humorous pontifications of a man whose countenance seems to be a tripolar oleo of humor, sober…ok, I’ll give you stoned, and brilliance than hear the egotistical musings of someone who is wrong more than half the time who needs muted.

Yes! Besides watching JWs opening salvo of 3s rocket thru the basket and his overall dominance of the game, watching Udeh make a few plays, some FTs, and give some big minutes was a definite highlight for me.
When Kev goes out, we can look really short out there - getting shots blocked and passes deflected by the tall trees. It’s something that worries me a bit in the Dance (our 2 seed getting spanked by Stanford tall trees in the tourney years back still bugs me).
But with our tallest (6’ 11”) player out there I feel better against taller teams. And BS has expressed how he misses having a reliable big. I know he’s inexperienced and makes mistakes, but also some flashes of real potential. Plus there’s a joyous look he has when he does well that makes me smile. I’m hoping for some big minutes from him in the weeks to come. And come next year…
