That last defensive stop, we saw the KC defense was amped up. First time I saw some urgency by the defense. Now they have to do it again.
-
Twice
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Iām shocked mainly because mahomes ankle looks good which in my defense is why I was worried glad to be wrong but still a lot of time
-
His ankle isnāt good! Heās just toughing it out. Toughing!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 they gave him the Aaron Rodgers shot at half time haha
-
This is a helluva game folks

Pretty fortunate with that penalty.

Thatās all they gonna be talkin about, how they got robed. - Yet a Penalty is a Penalty, is a Penalty --he grabbed his jerseyāhe wrapped his arm around his waist even if only for a second
-
@BShark grabbed him twice
-
So many rooks stepped up!
-
I think that penalty was a little weak but I also think thatās the only call KC got. They missed an obvious PI in the first quarter that stalled the chiefs second drive, got away with a fumble touchdown that shouldāve counted and had a very questionable catch stand. I think the eagles got 3 of 4 questionable calls tonight.
-
The dude that held said he did it twice, thought they wouldnāt call it. So admitted it.
-
Chiefs! Victory!
Great (tight) game.

There were some not very good calls in this game. a few that went against the Chiefs for sure. Iām not a guy who harps on the refs normally, but i didnāt care for a few that were even reviewed.
So, the last call helped for sure, but it was not the only iffy call of the night.
-
The guy said he grabbed his jersey
-
Henne retired after the game. Shane, youāre up!
-
Henne was a great back up! What a way to go out!
-
So did Hurts outplay double MVP Mahomes? Hurts had 304 yds passing, 1 TD and 70 yds rushing, 3 TDs. Impressive.

I thought the one catch was correct. Iām less sure on the catch/fumble.
-
RE: Fumble/Incomplete Pass. When did the NFL decide or make a rule that the receiver had to take 3 steps after the catch to be a completion? Thatās certainly not the rule when the ball isnāt fumbled; weāve seen hundreds of calls on whether it was a catch or not and none of them include 3 steps. Iām just going by what the FOX expert said during the broadcast that the āfootball move ruleā according to him required 3 steps after the catch to qualify as a catch. Iāve never heard that before.
-
Thank Almighty for Chiefs getting Reid and Mahomes.
Special kudos to Veatch.
He made several bold moves such as trading Hill and rolling with rookie corners this year.
-
I do not recall any Chiefs season with so many 3-point victories as this year.
-
National media is referring to penalty call as being controversial and the reason why Chiefs won.
Eagles player himself admitted that it was a penalty.
The media has a bias against Chiefs.
-
@BShark Sorry about your friend. Thatās one of lifeās tougher things - I know all about losing dear friends. Prayers.
-
@stoptheflop I think the guy that comes away with the " W " is the one who outplayed the other.
-
@stoptheflop I think it isnāt 2 stepsā¦it is 2 feet down (they can be down when the ball is caught, but steps are more likely) and a football move (unless the player is falling to the ground and then the requirement is to retain possession). That can be a step which is often called a 3rd step but should be called a 3rd foot down (which is awkwsrdāsounds like canine ball). The move could also be a twist to avert a hit, or immediately lateralling the ball, I think. Here, he was hit immediately on control. For once our tacklers got there quicklyā¦ too quickly.
-
@mayjay Thanks, yes third foot on the ground makes more sense than 3 steps. Really, this means two feet on the ground after the catch and then one step-a football move.
-
@mayjay If he had caught the ball, been hit immediately and dropped to the ground, it would have been a completed pass. He is not required to take any steps. But since he fumbled the ball the āstepsā are an issue ??? Sounds like a whole bunch of BS to me.

Still okay last I heard. He has had a very full life, much older than me. Truly a special friendship, hard to explain.
-
@BShark Thatās fantastic. When you find a friend who gets you and appreciates you, thatās about as close to heaven as we get down here.
-
@nuleafjhawk In your example, if the guy dropped immediately and lost the ball, that would be incomplete. Dropping immediately to the ground while holding on = completed catch and a tackle.
-
@stoptheflop Hurts played great and I was impressed with what he did last night but his biggest mistake was a fumbled snap that gave KC a touchdown. Chiefs also dropped 2 picks. He can flat out run for sure.
-
@stoptheflop thatās my problem with the current rules, Dez Bryant takes 3 steps not a catch but a guy falling outta bounds doesnāt have to maintain possession. Watching the replay his foot looks up while the ball is still moving. I think it was just too close to overturn. The fumble the guy looks back at hurts, catches it, gets both feet down and turns forward to run. Turning forward to me is a football move but idk. At that point you can say gotta take 4 steps I guess for it to be a catch idk.
-
Anyone else see LeBron complaining about the holding call? When literally he threw a complete tantrum last week after a no call sent his game in to OT SMH. This is why people dislike him greatly, the cut under his nose is always at full bore, usually In topics heās uneducated in.
-
@mayjay Right. So we he caught the ball and then got the crap knocked out of him and lost it to Bolton, who ran it in for a touchdown - we got screwed. lol
-
@kjayhawks In a way it is like taking a charge: the ball can move but still he in control just like the defender is not required to be absolutely set. Think of the holder on a FG when he spins the ball. He has control even if it is moving.
-
@nuleafjhawk I wonder if players will hesitate before they hit a receiver because they want a fumble recovery rather than a mere pass breakup.

Better not!
