Gradey Dick

Udeh is on Rice’s team. Neither is likely to start.

@BShark What about Udeh? He’s a McD selection too, right?
This is Geico Nationals and a real game. McD game is tomorrow.

Grady with terrible game like 1-9 from the field-- 5 points 2shots getting blocked and believe 3 turnovers. in the Geico tourney. Prolific Prep the team Mj Rice plays on although didn’t play in this him and another of their studs out cause of injury. - - Tre White I think we recruited him some didn’t we ? - -played huge role for Prolific and Mark Pope. - White pin point pass with like 4 seconds to go kid hits a three from the corner Prolific wins 59-56 to advance.
Scottie Middleton had sweet game for Sunrise , I think we are recruiting him too I think Brady just no clean looks at all. Mark Mitchell had good game but came up short ,Sunrise is the # 1 team in the Natin and they are out.
-
Sunrise is very poorly coached.
They did not appear to even really run plays. Dumb.
-
Gradey Dick, and now Wilder Evers. This recruiting class is bringing us some interesting names. Wilder is a walk on but here’s hoping we get to hear his name a few times on broadcasts.
-
@BShark Do they compete in the regular Kansas HS association (or whatever it’s called)? I’m guessing they don’t because they recruit and all that, but I’ve been curious. Are all of their games just road games at other ‘schools’ like IMG, Brewster and all the others?
-
@wissox I don’t believe they played a single regular KS HS team. They are essentially an AAU high school.

No they don’t play no Kansas high school regular teams they are just AAU high school

Hope we get some good soundbites from the Frans of this world. Something like “hes crazy passing up Dick for the Wilder jam. Right now Dick is automatic.”
-
@JAYHAWKFAN214 @BShark I feel sorry for those kids. Competing for your town and school with your friends is fun. You can become a local legend as many do of course. But leaving home at an early age just so you can increase your recruiting profile seems odd.
-
@wissox Well it is their choice. Hopefully anyway, sometimes parents are forceful. I do think it is generally a good move, Gradey improved a lot more at Sunrise than he would of playing KS HS competition.
-
@approxinfinity wonder if Dicks sporting goods will put out?
-
@BShark basically same town. Collegiate is a choice too.
-
Gradey will not participate in today’s combine scrimmage. He opted out.
-
@Gorilla72 This is generally a good sign, right? Doesn’t it imply he doesn’t really need to do anymore to impress anyone because his draft stock is pretty safely in the range he would like?
-
@benshawks08 - Per. KansasCity.com: “ According to Jonathan Givony of ESPN, only one projected first-rounder (Andre Jackson) was participating in the scrimmages. Players sometimes decline invitations to scrimmage at the Combine on the advice of agents who see no upside to improving one’s draft stock by playing.”

Yea I mean he’s a lock to go top 15. And I don’t think there is much room for him to move up. I’ve see him mocked as high as 7. But consensus is like 10th/11th I think.

Almost every mock I have seen post lottery draw has him going 9-11. Going 10 to Dallas would be awesome for him. Luka would get him endless open looks.

Ha. I found this draft evaluation of Gradey funny, and the opposite of what i saw this year.
This is by no means a knock on Gradey. We all love us some Gradey. No ill will intended!
“He’s a fluid athlete who really knows how to move without the ball and find room for his shot.”
I thought that was actually where he needs to grow the most: moving without the ball to find his shot.
