At first I thought this was Stevie nicks, but I guess I’m wrong?

The famous team that wouldn’t have happened because they called JoJo out of of bounds when he wasn’t. Still glad it happened because they beat Kentucky, but I’d rather us having had the chance to beat Kentucky.
-
At least we don’t have to play that Bryson Williams kid that looked like a mix between Doke and Thomas Robinson right? Well, technically right. He’s no longer at UTEP but at Texas Tech so we’ll play him twice, at least, upcoming. Sigh
UTEP still has 2/3 of the band back together tho that took KU to the brink last year. Not expecting a blowout even though it should be

Impossible to see from that angle where his heel landed (and if it even touched the floor). He could be out. He could be in. The referee trailing the play is in perfect position to see the call. If he made the call, he was positioned well enough to get it right.
It’s a tough call that today would have almost certainly gone to replay. The shadow makes it look like his heel isn’t on the floor, but with his left foot rounding into shooting position, he may have caught the line. Or he may have missed it. No definitive angle exists that I have ever seen.

who knows for sure , like I said in previous post I didn’t see the game on TV - -not sure why not , but do remember how the guys calling the game on radio was not happy to say the least. Just a lot of different takes, I know at the time i thought we got shafted I’ll never forget that game though xrazy game

Funny you should mention the ref. That’s one of the things that stood out to me in the photo above. He is in great position, yes, but looking at his eyes they seem to be staring straight ahead and not at JoJo’s feet.
The game was before my time and I can’t really say much about it, but just one KU fan’s opinion.

For the sake of preventing a jinx… I will not predict a smashdown tonight.
You do the math and read between the lines! lol
-
@wrwlumpy thx, I love Fleetwood Mac
-
@wrwlumpy Nate the Skate. Could bomb it or drive it by you.
-
@wrwlumpy I remember watching the game and thought he stayed on his toes. Oh well.
-
@wrwlumpy Thanks.
-
@wrwlumpy Yes he was.
-
@wrwlumpy Saw Goose at Iola KS around 1960. Fun.

@tis4tim That ref was later quoted as saying that JoJo was so close to the line that if he wore black sneakers instead of white ones, he (the ref) would’ve called the shot good.
Listened to the call on the radio as a kid. My first whiff of disappointment as a KU fan.

Thanks for the insight, @nwhawkfan. As I mentioned above, that was a few years before my time. I only know the result, the photo and the controversy surrounding the call. One of these days I’ll have to listen or watch an old broadcast to see it with my own eyes.
Kind of amazing how different sports history could have been had instant replay and all today’s camera angles been available “back in the day”. I’d sure like to see more angles of the “Immaculate Reception” by Franco Harris b/c I still don’t exactly know how he ended up with the football. And doubtful the Royals win the '85 World Series if that Denkinger call is reviewed.
