@BShark 86% FG shooting. Got to be a near record. Classic early season matchup that shouldn’t count in records just as our games with FT Hayes, Emporia and Washburn don’t. Greenville is an NAIA school I think near St. Louis in Illinois.

Since I grew up in Illinois and have been following the Illini since 79 when they upset Magic and eventual NC, I’ll comment on this game with a certain tilt, although I’m not an avid Illini fan. This is the problem with moving all over the country like I have. I latch onto the locals.

I tried to recruit Adam Miller to come to KU. I worked with his mom two years ago, met him once or twice. Mom told me he was interested in KU and U of I. I told him if he ever wanted to talk about KU let me know. Never asked!
I saw him play his last HS game against Chicago power Simeon (Derrick Rose, Jabari Parker, etc.) Morgan Park was a heavy favorite but Simeon sent some little guy out to guard Miller from the start. Super quick and he just face guarded him. Adam couldn’t handle it and picked up two fouls in the first minute, then went back in in the 2nd quarter and picked up his 3rd right away. It was a brilliant coaching strategy that I’ve never seen.

I think Scott Drew was glad when Brad Underwood left the Big 12. He knew that he couldn’t match wits with him when talent is relatively even. I think Illinois is on their way to becoming the next annual contender in the BIG.

Baylor is the best team in the big12 according to Bilas. I don’t mind him but he annoyed me last night when he didn’t notice that Wilson had gone out with 4 fouls.

KU has never really had the big guy that can shoot the 3 like that Illini big and that Wisconsin has basically invented with all of their bigs who shoot 3’s.

@Crimsonorblue22 Oh I see, you’re calling Wilson a big who shoots threes. He’s more like a small forward in my view so I guess I don’t compare him to the 7 footers that have regularly been a part of the Badgers seemingly ever since the new century began.

This game reminds me of last night with very choppy offense but they’re proving to be more competent generally offensively.

I think we need to take Ol Shaka and the boys a little more serious this year. - - Coleman is a Senior and playing well - - Ty jones is pretty nice - -good size 6’10 hitting 3’s oh ya pretty nice stat on him too like around half way thru the 2nd half he was 18-19 - shoot from the filed for the season - kind of a pesky feisty group - -not a given this year

This feels different than other years for them. Not sure Cal can get this roster together.
Our roster isn’t the best either, but I’m glad to have Self trying to figure things out. I think we have to push small ball and I’m really intrigued to see what we look like in January.

Clubbed Oral Roberts yesterday 100-59, some of these stats were crazy :
30-0 run in the 2nd quarter , 66 points I think they said at the half , 66 rebounds , they shot 81 % in the 2nd quarter and finished the quarter outscoring Oral Roberts 39-3 shot 71.4 % from the 3 in the 2nd quarter.
Coach has had a couple of really good recruiting years back to back - he has just GOT to start gettng more W’s in Conference - did a little better last year but like to see a little better overall in the Conferene

@jayballer67 The women are still bad and doing what they always do by beating up on bottom feeders and getting blasted by other major conference teams. Ole Miss blasted them by 17 last week.
