@RockChalkinTexas-0 Cool.. (I was just looking at Lunardi @espn and he still has us on the 4 line)
And I agree -- last night's win should convince skeptics: Saturday, we won by jumping to a healthy lead and then holding off a comeback. Monday, we won by coming from behind on the road. Both Top 20 teams.
Two very different ways to win.
Please please please make this the beginning of a fantastic run to April.

@bskeet I think it was CBS where I saw it.
I thought this encapsulated the flow of the game and my heartbeat very accurately!!!

This was the snapshot I like!
92 seconds. Less than 25% chance.

-
After a score to make it 57-47 with 8:17 left we finished 17-4. This despite zebras rewarding them with 2 replay reviews. I was distracted by something at that time so watching with great scrutiny was happening, but what I thought was we could have won both of those challenges. Held them to 4 points over 8 minutes. Held them to 61, their 2nd lowest total of the season. Purdue walloped them back in November. Obviously our offense didn't win the game for us last night, it was our defense.
-
If one was indisputable, then the other should have been too. There wasn't clear evidence to overturn either.
Not sure if they'll review their review, but I don't think it will smell good with time.
-
Attempting only 53 shots to Tech's 72 is very concerning. But, we were able to somewhat negate it by getting to the line more than they did.
-
@bskeet I'm watching right now. 1st challenge, looked like we could've received the ball, but understood the call at least. Watching 2nd one right now and I think we got screwed.
-
40 Threes is SOOOOO many attempts. Lol
-
It's been said, but probably worth saying again: FLORY. This was a defensive game. And we had the better defense and the BEST defensive player.
Flory has to be defensive player of the week in the B12 and should get some recognition nationally.

@benshawks08 fine wine, this comment.
Felt pretty good about it after the game.

It would be interesting to see stats on challenges. Home/road, especially. BTW the lob to DP for the first 3 by Melvin was exquisite.
-
The ONLY thing I worry about at this point is that we are not a team that is great at manufacturing "easy" points. We get a few alley-oop dunks each game. But we don't break teams down and get many back-doors, etc. When I watch Duke and Arizona, they both run offenses that create some easy layups.. I think it couldn't hurt to get a bit more of this into our repertoire.
Not sure if this is because teams know Bill Self's playbook / scout us so well... or maybe it's not our emphasis.
We seem to be a team that take (and make) an inordinate number of 'tough' shots.. and Melvin is the KING of this. We have multiple players (Tre, Melvin & DP) that drive into the lane -- more than I can recall in quite a while -- often resulting in contact on the shot (too often not getting rewarded with a whistle).
I suppose this is a good thing for March. But so are some easy points.
-
You all owe me big time. I quit watching when we got down by 10. Turned to Mike and Molly. Came back with 45 seconds to go.
You're welcome.
-
Certainly is a trap game but unless they sleep walk for 40 minutes they will win and move onto Monday. I cannot see this core group letting any game past them currently. Eyes on the prize

Just under their season average of 47% shots from 3. They live and die by it. We got so lucky Anderson didn't play. His 20 and 8 was the difference for them.

Tech's a good offensive rebounding team and they shoot a ton of 3's on average. KU's not a great rebounding team but did great when it mattered. They are also not a good offensive rebounding team, so we limit our possessions not making it a priority.

KU up to #12 overall on Kenpom. What a rise the last 3 weeks. Offense keeps going up and down between the 30's, mid 20's back to 33 currently. Defense has consistently been in the Top 15 all season long (trending back up to #8) as of today. If the same level of play continues those numbers will continue to improve based on where they rank in games since conference play started.
