Can we all now just sit back and digest … Wiggins, Embiid, Oubre, Alexander. Convince me this OAD crap has been worth it. I only have one request, you have to include “Stanford” and “WSU” in your response.
Northern Iowa, YES there was an OAD but that team was pretty solid.

@HighEliteMajor The OAD system is ruining college (and Pro) basketball. It’s ruining my attitude, my loyalty, my enthusiasm. Not to mention our team (in my opinion).
Oh yeah. Were you referring to the Stanford team that started 5 no-name SENIORS and whooped our heavily laden MickeyD team, lead by the greatest OAD player in the history of the universe?
And Wichita State will be irrelevant for another 30 years.
And just for kicks - Georges Niang will be the SENIOR Big 12 Player of the Year next year.

Well for bettor or for worse, I think we will start getting significantly less OADs because of the lack of success with them. Oubre didn’t explode like he was expected and Alexander was the nail in the coffin. But this may be for the better in the long run. Have a steady rate of 4 stars and low 5 stars and keep replacing senior with a prepared sophomore.
The only thing we have to be careful about as fans is complaining when we don’t get top level recruits anymore. “Has Self lost his touch?” or the most disgusting one “Kentucky is getting them all, why can’t we?” Darned if you do, darned if you don’t.

We are after 5 potential OAD’s.
2 open spots, likely 3 to 4 before its all said and done. We aren’t recruiting 3* star players to take these spots. OAD’s are coming.

@BeddieKU23 It doesn’t seem they will choose to come to KU. Self will pull a couple rabbits out of his hat when we don’t get the OADs like he usually does. There will always be 3 stars available. I personally don’t see Diallo, Maker, Malik, or Brown coming to KU. I am far from an insider or a prophet, but that’s just my opinion.

But we are fully in the mix for all those guys you just mentioned. Zimmerman & Ingram as well. Whether you like it or not, the pool of players is pretty thin right now. Transfers are not getting waivers, unless your a graduate with 1 year left. We can dislike it all we want but if we land 2 of these 5-7 players left we are in great shape with what’s returning.

@BeddieKU23 Whoa, I never said totally against it. Sometimes I wish players like Greene would get more of chance but I have said in the past that Self has to get the best players out there.
I was just predicting what the fallout of our big time recruiting busts. But like I said, I have zero inside scoop. It’s just what I read.
I hope we can a footer and Malik. A footer for obvious reasons and Malik to have someone who can create his own offense other than Mason.

@RockChalkinTexas I’ve been reading his twitter and he definitely does have a beauty that apparently likes his hair cut as much as you do. Someone like Kelly probably should not get married too quickly knowing what goes on in each city.
