Oh how I hate Kansas State.

Gonna hijack the Michigan fan hate chant today for our own rivalry. It’s not as well known a rivalry as OSU-Michigan, but it’s still a good one.
The rivalry could use a bit more spice in my opinion. This is our fault in football as we’ve been bad and it’s been one sided, and while in basketball it’s more even, we definitely dominate in national prominence. The fact that our dominance is backed up by actual trophies makes it kind of funny that their dominance is not even backed up by playoff appearances or ancient national championships.
Their fan interactions on social media are kind of hilarious. While we share our insults too, seeing KSU fans make fun of KU hoops just seems like a strange thing to do because we have multiple chances to rebut theirs with compelling barbs.
Snob Hill vs. Silo Tech I used to hear back when i was hanging around Lawrence. Wondering if the younger generations know those terms? Todays fans have the memory of the brawl with DeSouza and whoever else was involved. It was a black eye on our program, theirs too. I know some here defended our guys which is fine, but I’m not enough of a homer to call it like it is. Mid 80’s football had their own brawls. Not sure if there’s been others, but two years in a row in Manhattan featured after game brawls in Aggieville (?) between overserved fans of both teams. Those years saw KU and KState football finish at the bottom of not just the Big 8 but at the bottom of national rankings. Dreadful years for the states teams.
Today, recent history has me at least a little on edge. We should beat this team, yet they’ve won two games we couldn’t, at home vs WVU and AT ISU. That’s impressive but they’ve also lost some ridiculous games to teams like Liberty, OSU, Wichita by a bunch, Drake.
I still believe our team can pull this together and make some noise. I don’t think we’re good enough to make it to the FF, but good enough to threaten that. I’m still hanging on our Duke win as evidence. So I’ll go out on a limb and give us a 3 point win 74-71.

I will be very disappointed if we lose today. Tired of losing in Manhattan to Tang and listening to their fan base. It’s a cesspool. Can’t afford a loss to this crap team

you have some legit concern about today’s game , the bad losses like Liberty , OSU , Wichita and such were earlier in the year , as much as I can’t stand them I have to give it up and say they are playing really solid ball now. Four game winning streak , that dam place might be loud, Plus the way we have had a habit of blowing big leads, we have played so , so on the road.- - It will be a nervous game , hope we come out and control game from tip to finish- --we don’t do that, we usually start slow can’t have that today cause that will make them think they are going to beat us for sure.

KJ needs to have a big game defensively against Hawkins. Feels like the key to the game really. We got by in Allen but it was a major problem when subbing to Storr at the 4.
