KU taking on TCU a must win - -must , must win
-
Daniels has been bad, but his receivers outside of Grimm haven’t given him much help today either.
-
That needed to be a pitch
-
3 and out. Nice.
-
TCU gave up 66 points to SMU last week. This not a defensive powerhouse…
-
Wow the place got empty fast smh idk if we win another game folks
-
Hishaw, Neal, and Grimm are the only three guys on offense having a decent day.
-
Defense looks gassed
-
I think I’m going to follow the rest of this on my phone out on the deck with my dog and a cold beer.
Rock chalk
-
Tackling is atrocious…
-
We can’t tackle, we can’t catch or throw the football seems to be a pretty important thing for collegiate athletes to be able to do

Defense is done. TCU has pretty much had the ball the entire time since KU’s first drive of the second half.
-
In all four losses, defense has been incapable of getting stops in the 4th quarter…
-
Frustrating game to watch
-
Defense is more of an issue today skinners drop was massive
-
We’ll see if 10-25 JD can complete a pass on this drive…
-
We know this comeback can be done because West Virginia did it last week.
-
INT or fumble?

But I doubt Daniels can do it because if I’m TCU, I’m doubling Grimm and singling or zoning everyone else.
-
-
A throw with zero chance of getting a first down…
-
Why are we throwing 5 and 6 yard passes when the line to gain is 8 plus yards on third/fourth down
-
Good night fellas
Tough and frustrating game to watch
-
JD 11-28 for 135 yards. Bad throws and bad decisions…
-
Was that pass on JD or Grimes? Probably both. I am ready to see Ballard.

100% on Daniels. Every route but that one was past the sticks.
-
Not a lot of good to take away from this one. Onto Tempe
-
No bowl game this year.
-
The question becomes at what point do we make a change at either QB or OC? Like I said doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting a different result is insanity. We can not win games with the JD and Grimes combo against FBS competition. It’s been proven at this point.

Daniels is the bigger issue at this point. His passing issues have severely hindered the running game in the second half of games.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 it’s both Grimes play calling hasn’t been worth a crap either. I’m just asking to change one of them and see what happens.
-
There is the INT.
-
Such a disappointing season.
-
I believe now we have been outscored 55-17 in the last 5 minutes of half’s. If I’m not mistaken 10 of those 17 points for us were on Lindenwood.
-
I have to start betting on Kansas to lose tho I doubt we will be favored again this season maybe Houston but I don’t see us making a bowl game after this. You had to beat UNLV and TCU to have a chance.

We’ve seen KU move the ball effectively in the 1st half of games this season which is a sign Grimes is a competent play caller. When you have a QB that’s not effective and receivers not making simple plays, that allows opposing defenses to load up to stop Neal and Hishaw which in turn limits what Grimes can call because defenses aren’t worried about anyone other than Neal and Hishaw.
I’m not calling Grimes an all world OC, but he is competent and did win a Big 12 title as a play caller title 3 years ago. Firing him 5 games into a season and installing a new offense doesn’t magically fix the issues Daniels has been having this season. Daniels reads and situational awareness have been terrible this season so benching him would give KU the better chance to salvage something this season.
If Grimes were to be fired tomorrow like you want, who on the current staff gets promoted to that job and how does that address the issues Daniels has had this season?
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I agree to a point but we also have too often on 2nd/3rd down with 2 yards or less to go passed the ball twice. I believe it happened 3 times again today. I think this one was really a team loss. Special teams gave up a score, offense couldn’t score from inside the 6 and the defense gave up huge plays all day long. I’m all in on benching JD
-
*KU gives up a touchdown right before the half - again. *4th qtr collapse - again.
These players have to be feeling pretty low.

KU threw the ball on 2nd or 3rd and short (3 yards or less) literally three times total in the game today. The first time was the second play of the second half on a 2nd and 3 and was a 12 yard completion to Arnold. The other two times were KU’s final possession with no timeouts left when running the ball makes no sense whatsoever.
KU’s other short yardage plays were a hand-off to Neal for 12 yard on KU’s second play of the game on a 2nd and 1. On KU’s second possession the only short yardage plays was a 2nd and goal from the 2 that resulted in a Devin Neal TD run. That’s it for the first half. Other short yardage plays in the second half were all running plays. Hishaw got the carry on a 3rd and 2 that resulted in a TD from TCU’s 8. Last play of the 3rd quarter was a 7 yard Hishaw run for a first on a 3rd and 3.
The facts do not support your claims and if you think I’m bullshitting you, go to ESPN and look at the play by play and tell me when KU threw the ball on a 2nd or 3rd and short in a situation where it didn’t make sense to.
-
Fellas - this is why I am the way I am.
-
@nuleafjhawk we are all products of our environments are we not?
-
@approxinfinity I just can’t believe we went from being a very good team last year to such a bunch of turd suckers this year.
K State will beat us so bad that they’ll destroy the new stadium and we’ll just stick to basketball.
-
Couldn’t watch because of ESPN+, but that was painful to listen to. Hanni must have said 20 times he eludes the tackler, about 10 times …receiver open…pass just misses…refs will rule this in our favor…ooh they missed that call.
This team has lost 4 in a row now that have all been winnable. This one it did sound like TCU was clicking on offense, but the replay reviews. One if they give it to us we get a first inside the red zone. The other we stop a drive that they’re scoring on. I just don’t know. Pretty disappointing.
-
Sitting here this morning and thinking….Is it too much to ask to enjoy college football for Kansas fans? I’ve watched us get spanked by central Michigan on our own field and Toledo in person, two winless seasons and this season is #1 on worst feelings being a KU football fan. How the heck did we sink so far so fast? It’s just crazy will win another game is pretty the only question not answered at this point.
-
@kjayhawks we were close to winning all those games. Seasons with big expectations going awry is pretty common. I think this season went from exceptionally good to average. Not exceptionally good to exceptionally bad.
Disappointing, sure.
But if anyone is being realistic, this program is still far far better than what it was before Lance.
-
Yeah, I think this team is not as bad as the record shows. It can compete with solid (top 50) teams But its margin for error is close to zero. It’s not clear that we are good enough to overcome even one mistake in a game. Any bad luck (ahem, bad calls) and it’s over.

Agree. - --Yet Some people just can’t seem to comprehend that— it doesn’t sink in. - - -we are way better shape then we were BEFORE Coach got here.
Thing is if Lance is NOW all of a sudden such a bad Coach then makes a person wonder , if he is that bad that we should fire him after five games into a Season --I wonder why there have been so many other Schools interested in him , and I’m talking legit Big Schools - -and to show his loyalty he said no, Just because he didn’t get the position doesn’t mean they weren’t interested. - -Depending who you were talking to, some said he didn’t get the job - -OR he withdrew his name.-- no matter they STILL made contact- -you meaning to tell me if h is a bad Coach these Schools still talkng to him ? – I think not.
-
Am I just not paying attention? (It’s entirely possible)
I haven’t heard (or paid attention to) anyone calling for Lance’s head. Grimes, for sure. And several (including me) to have JD ride some pine. I guess I need to pay better attention.

ya you’ve misses it. maybe not on here but it’s out there plain stupid - -PERIOD
-
@jayballer67 No one on here has called for Lance’s head. Thus the head scratching about the impassioned message that wasn’t really for anyone here.
-
@dylans there were grumblings about Lance, stuff like “Andy K was the real mastermind” etc. Guess you will have to believe me, I’m trying to keep it on the rails
