Concerning the Council play. Yes, he was out of bounds when he blocked the ball. But when you consider that he did not step out of bounds to make the play, but was already out of bounds from finishing the last play, and then his back was turned to the inlet pass... I don't see reason why he should receive a T, but clearly his score to follow should have been disallowed. They could have made the call and gone to the monitor. We caught a huge break.

Meh, then it's the referee's responsibility to make the call, the one that was standing point blank there to make. Council and KU benefitted from the error.
There were several mistakes by this crew last night. They missed a clear goal-tend in the first half on Flory that if called could have been reviewed and overturned. We'll take it. We're on the other end of the stick far too often.
The A-Team wasn't in Boulder last night
Yep they got that one wrong. They also didn't call many obvious fouls on Colorado including one that bloodied Tre if memory serves. KU definitely could have shot a lot more free throws last night. All around terrible last night, but it probably evened out overall.

I'm relieved we got this win, but still not feeling any better for our ability to play well on the road. Colorado was horrible... mostly freshmen. We lacked energy... the real reason why we can't play on the road. Unless we see major improvements in road play I see definite losses at TTech, ISU, and Arizona... along with possible losses at KSU, OSU and ASU.
I don't see us winning the B12 tourney, so I see a minimum of 10 losses heading into March. Most likely, more losses.

Agreed they just point blank missed a lot of easy calls. There was one where Flory was fouled (forget if it was near the face) that they didn't call. The offensive foul on Tiller late in 2nd half (Touched air) as Peterson was drilling a 3 to make the game 69-60 (we later did anyway) but still. Tre White nosebleed. Council was called for a charge when the defender was literally backpedaling still.
Can't imagine that crew gets a good review

@wissox83 Since he was touching the ball while out of bounds it should have been called out of bounds to Colorado.
But a tech would have been stupid. Maybe if he were taking an unreasonably long time to get back in bounds, but he wasn't, he was moving and the Colorado player chucked the ball into him.

@BeddieKU23 Flo got poked in the eye

I haven’t got a chance to watch most of the game yet, just happy we won a road game with how it has been over the last two years.
-
These are games we cannot afford to lose if we want to preserve any prayer of competing for a conference championship. Houston, Iowa State, and Texas Tech are not going to lose any games, home or away, to Colorado-caliber teams, so we can't either.
-
Our "performances" against WVU and UCF have us behind the 8-ball, as those are games the other contenders simply will not come close to losing. But if we are almost perfect from here on out we have a chance.
-
@Jayhawk_69 I guess TT barely beat CO
-
@crimsonblu22 Took a forearm to the face from CU center. The refs said it was a no foul basketball type play. Pissed off Flory.
-
@Jayhawk_69 How do you say a tech would be stupid when it's been the rule forever? You can't take the ball from the inbounder or it's a tech. That's been a rule forever. He was standing out of bounds and was touching the ball when it was still in his hands.
-
They scored 9 points in the last minute or less. We won the battle on the boards 45 - 33.
-
This damn conference is loaded with really good teams and so road wins are gold.

I feel like the likes of Arizona and Houston have had pretty easy start to the conference season. Believe Houston barely beating Tech at home is the only marquee matchup either team has had. Losing to both UCF and WV clearly hurts us when we basically crapped our pants for a stretch in the second half but I have very little doubt that teams at the top will start losing some games soon. I think the conference champions will have 3-4 losses before it’s said and done.
