@FarmerJayhawk he went against everything he’s ever said “if a guy isn’t ready in February I won’t play him in March” except he had no choice because of how bad certain players were. He played him and we won
The problem is how are we going to fix this?

Good D won’t stop great offenses
Either play the young guys and take our lumps or don’t.

This game is over is it not? Bills not even arguing with the refs anymore you can see he knows it’s done
It’s KU - title or bust and KJ at the five is great for half a game but not going to win it

All but 1 of KJ’s rebounds are offensive tonight. He has only 1 rebound on defense. And this is a big problem for KU because KJ is the worst defensive rebounding big Self has ever had. KU absolutely has to get one of the other post players going because KJ’s defensive rebounding is an issue that has to fixed at some point.

So your theory that 9 ppg Juan is enough I “outlined it” for you that the math doesn’t work. Dude has to score more

The point is we don’t and playing starters 35 minutes a night isn’t going to develop a bench either so when Wilson and/or Dick have an off night like tonight, KU is going to struggle to win games and will have to play low possession games in the 50’s which helps keep other teams in games and if they play well, lead to blow outs like tonight.

That’s always been his problem holding D higher than O like it’s the 1990’s basketball
Nfl has adapted, nba as well. Easier to teach a scorer ti defend than a defender how to score

Tonight is more reflective of who we are this year. I mean if you didn’t see all those close calls against average teams and came away thinking we are a legitimate title contender - the red and blue glasses are glued on too tight

Give me Jay Wright - his teams played aggressive on BOTH sides of the ball. He never quick hooked kids especially early and let them play through mistakes. He did more with less at a school that isn’t a top recruiter like the blue bloods

Harris scoring 9 ppg is where he should be as the 4th scorer on a this team amd don’t use the worst game of his career tonight as justification when Wilson was 13 below his average tonight and Dick 10 below his.
If Harris was the only player with a bad game tonight leading to this loss, then you’d have a point, but other than Yesufu, everyone else for KU played like shit tonight. Our starters were 10-37 from the field and 3-13 from 3.
We all know that something needs to happen with the bench to develop some more depth and scoring, but trying blame tonight on Harris is just plain ignoring everyone else that played like shit tonight too.

@Texas-Hawk-10 it isn’t all Harris fault but if he’s the winner Bill says - winners take over when the other guys can’t score.
Good teams will slow Wilson and Gradey down as they can out athlete them. Kevin is the third scorer but if you know the game or watch he’s a defensive specialist and rebounder not some 15ppg guy.
Teams can matchup better with Wilson and Gradey and Juan must score more

Again, KJ only had 1 defensive rebound tonight. Tennessee grabbed 15 offensive rebounds to our 17 defensive rebounds tonight. It was basically 50/50 on who got the ball after a Tennessee miss tonight and KJ did nothing to help that because he got 1 defensive rebound tonight.
