So what ya thinking buddy ? - -looks nice just wish that Not committed said committed. What you feeling ? think we land this guy ? - hope so. - - ROK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • So I saw some snip-it’s from Udeh visit. - -Sounds good anyways he stated :Nothing Negative to say was a good visit really. Spent most of his time with Ochai , Jalen , & Yesufu , yet managed to talked to everyone on the Coaching Staff.

Udeh said you can tell the Fan Base really loves their players. Coach Self is an Awesome stand up guy , very genuine & has a great personality ( ya til you screw up in practice lmao - -then maybe not so much lol )

Saying it was really good to be able to watch KU practice and getting to see what it’s like at the next level . Saying next step is getting back home and reviewing everything and deciding how I want to move forward. - -Hope this turns out well. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Bobi Klintman getting CB’s to Maryland. Guess Self passed him along to Mark

  • @BeddieKU23 Yeah like Shaw, KU ultimately didn’t press very hard.

  • Rock Chalk Jayhawk all day long baby

Got the player we need, though Walsh would have been an elite swap for Jalen assuming Jalen leaves as expected.

Agree Udeh is a bigger need and likely a guy the staff can depend to develop here for a while.

  • @jayballer67 very sure

  • Dick, Zuby, Rice and Udeh, great class! And we’ll add a transfer or two, I am quite sure. Things are back on track, perhaps the staff and university knows a bit more about the nerverending NCAA battle than they let on.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, will we get punished? Yeah, they’ll give us something just for GP, but it won’t - because it can’t - be too severe.

  • @Marco

I agree we’ll add a transfer or two to get more experience on the team. I expect to see up to 7 spots available. 4 definite leaving, McCormack, Ochai have another year but I don’t expect that happens. Wilson is the wildcard. Hopefully KU can make a good deal for him to stick around. He would likely be the leader of that team.

  • @BeddieKU23 that would be great if Wilson came back, but unless he just has a bust season (and I don’t think he will) there is no way that he’s coming back.

Don’t count on Rice 100 % until he is enrolled and landed on Campus buddy

  • Here is some of Jerry Meyers scouting report of Udeh : Runs rim to rim , Dangerous offensive rebounder , Tremendous Physique , Best attributes Rebounding & Shot Blocking. Would be a HUGE addition to either KU or UCLA. -& 7’2 wingspan. - -Meyer say he best compares Udeh with former Indiana player and current NBA player Thomas Bryant.

Weakness - Mechanical in his passing but gets the job done - -needs improved foot work

Sounds like I’m going to also. - - Thinking he is probably a 3 yr player anyways. Wanna see him develop some offensive to go with those other skills. It DOES SAY he has a nice right jump hook

  • Yeah honestly I would say 4 years. He’s basically the antithesis of Dave. Great rebounder and defensive presence, not going to hit a jump shot.

Jordan Walsh to Arkansas as expected.

ya I was debating between 3-4. Will be interesting to see how he develops offensively. KU seems to have a way to get the big’s better. But not looking for big things , we will have the scorers if he can give evn 9-10 a game to grow with his defensive presence I think w will be ok

  • @BShark Yeah, Arkansas is bigtime digging deep. What is that, two top 20 recruits and counting?

Yep, 5 in the Top 100 overall

  • SEC is loaded with talent and not great coaches. Though I am a fan of Nate Oats.

  • Ok guys let me say this. Now I know I’m in the real and I mean real slim minority here that’s ok I don’t mind. I know in the real world the chances of this happening next to none - -in reality even less then that I’m sure. BUT let me live out my dream , my make believe pretend and just hear me out ok ?

Miller visiting KU this weekend is HUGE and I do mean HUGE. - the # 12 ranked player in the Country nothing but upside , seen so many clips - - just smooth as smooth can be , Now original he had cut KU from his original 8 along with Kentucky , Florida , & Tennessee BUT added us a College THE ONLY COLLEGE he added back - he didn’t add Kentucky Back , He didn’t add Florida back , He didn’t add Tennessee back - -JUST KU. ok , ok , Again I get it guys BUT.

WHY ? - - WHY ? Why after cutting us were the only ones added back on. - -Myself I think someone from the KU staff has him at least curious/some what interested. call it what you want. Thing is from the article I read he had been a heavy lean as to going straight pro most of the Summer according to analysts Now a few including Joe Tipton of on 3 .com feel very strongly he is going to play College Ball.

Here are some things that was said in the Article : His Dad said he really wants to see how Coach Self and Staff interacts with the players. Wanting this and the fact that KU is the only New addition to his recruitment and that Millers desire to visit KU this weekend puts KU in a favorable position entering this Weekend.

Prior Alabama was the only School with any CB’s and that was in September , not surprising they were the only one’s with CB’s considering the other College was Tennessee State.

His Dad said and( think about this statement for a minute before you brush it off ) His dada said Bringing KU back in was a long thought out process. - -Think about that. After all this time and elimanting KU after all this time THEY decide to bring KU BACK into the recruiting process ? - - - WHY ? - -WHY would they do that at this point in time unless someone has at least peaked the kids interest to a degree, it just doesn’t make any sense if he is at least not some what interested. - - WE were the only College he brought back and his dad saying that and then you have this : His dad says WE could of EASILY reopened recruiting BUT no listen BUT we ONLY wanted to learn more about KU. - - -ONLY WANTED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT KU - - - Hmmmm WHY ? what’s there to learn if your not interested ? - -why waste your time ? - -KUs time ?- - Could of re-opened the recruiting but only added KU - is let’s at least say curious/a little interesting

Again I know I’m crazy maybe someone gave me one to many shots of tequila or whatever and it’s a wild dream - -BUT - -WHAT IF - -just WHAT IF ? - -MERCY I know but hey crazier things have happened we have the right to that dream don’t we. lol - - have a great day guys – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Seen crazier but this seems like a check the boxes visit

ya me too but as my mom & dad said growing up - - - Never - - say Never. We will be fine either way , just interesting

  • @BShark oh dream killer, I believe we can make it throoooouugh the niiiight! Freddy has nothing on @BShark

  • @BShark said in 2022 Recruiting Thread:

Sorry I’m here to kill dreams. :p

So riddle me this Batman - -If it is now being widely said that he will play College ball and the only 3 colleges he has listed is Alabama Tennessee St and KU - -where is he gonna play his College ball ?

Another reason I think neve say Never IF it is College cause if he was so set on Alabama why even bother bringing KU back into the discussion ? & Visit - -so is it Tennessee St ?

  • Miller could still go pro. If not, it will be Bama with Memphis having a darkhorse chance. KU is not in the picture.

He just wants himself a party weekend, more or less being wined and dined. Wouldn’t you as a high school baller take an all expenses paid trip to Lawrence on a weekend? He is not going to play one minute of college ball.

  • Yeaaaaaaaaaaah not thinking MJ Rice is likely to suit up in Lawrence. Traore and Bona also straight pro risks. We are going to see more and more of this but at least they did the NIL thing.

  • @BShark if we start bigtime recruiting a player who while not even close to the same but somewhat fitting Rice’s skillset, then we’ll know without anyone even giving any inside info that he is not going to step foot on caampus. Personally, I think that he is going to be a Jayhawk for one year. I want that dude in Lawrence! And we need to sign Udeh.

Neither is Memphis they are not in the picture PERIOD according to his dad - I’m gonna be one of those guys wait and see on this one BShark I just think there might be more there then what your seeing

  • I wonder if the staff created an NIL recruitment program that is sufficiently competitive with those considering to go pro/g league.

“You can now make money either way… Why not come to the cathedral for a year, kick off your sponsorship business here as well as your basketball career?”

Agree, we need to be on our game just for GP, never against people making money. …

Other side of the coin, the big-trunked elephant in the room though? How do you keep certain players engaged when they are already millionaires, but not yet able to enter the draft?

Case in point (I know, not basketball related), Spencer Rattler. He went from being Rattler to just flat out Rattled, and he was the pre-season Heisman frontrunner and projected #1 overall NFL draft pick. Caleb Williams, a highly coveted true freshman who didn’t even play high school ball last year, has made him look totally pedestrian. Why?

I know, Williams was this year’s number one qb recruit out of high school, is the real deal and has to start - bigtime talent, OU flows with him at the helm. But Rattler was also a number one duel-threat qb recruit coming out of high school, and is a 3rd year sophomore and OU flowed with him last year - totally shellacking Florida in their bowl game.

He is now a shell of his former self. Why? What, he suddenly couldn’t stand the spotlight and or crumbled with newfound competition? Naw, I say he lost his edge due to being fat, dumb and happy, and it did not do him any favors. To the transfer portal Rattler comes, because at this point it is a stretch - a couple months ago he was the projected #1 overall pick on Mel Kiper’s big board - for him to even be selected in the first round. I wouldn’t burn a 1st round pick on him, sure wouldn’t.

Prediction - high school football recruits will soon ask, “why can we make millions from NIL but not be able to enter the NFL draft?” Not a big NFL fan anyway, the product sucks when compared to college ball, ditto the NBA (btw, I don’t make decisions or rules, just a guy who pans through crap).

The one and done rule in basketball will soon go the way of the dodo too, undoubtedly. It only benefits the NBA it tries to protect an already shitty and too young product, and once OAD is tossed the league will be even more young and shitty, but oh well - I will not give one let alone two farts in its defense… If a product is sound it will stand on its own, if not let it fall.

  • When is Udeh announcing?

  • @Marco I believe he is announcing Tuesday. I feel good about this one

  • @BShark

Espn has his game against Virginia Gold on espn plus.

I did not see anything to get excited about.
