Very well could be. If we get Hickman and possibly Bates it’s fine. Think we only have to replace Garrett in the backcourt anyhow. At least that’s the hope given the strong likelihood of a partial season.

Hell, I didn’t even know Baylor was really recruiting him. I think he was our only legit shot at a 5* in this class.

Had heard previously that it would be KU, he is one I believe the staff was counting on. They are gonna need guys, I honestly don’t know where they turn now.

I think they’ll be ok on the wing. Still will have TGF, Enaruna, and Thompson capable of playing that spot. If it were me, I’d go full bore on guards: Sallis, Hickman, and Bates. Sallis is rumored to be a legit 6’5 now, so he and Bryce could both play multiple spots, where Hickman and Harris are true PG’s.

Good call. Theoretically we could still roll with Harris, Thompson, Agbaji, Enaruna, McCormack with Braun, Hickman, Bates, Wilson, and Clemence as backups. Gethro and Jossell could still be around too. Add one more big to that mix and there’s your 13.

But that would require landing a recruit ever again, which is impossible.
On a serious note I think it’s better to have Braun ahead of Enaruna until proven otherwise. Though you would want to see Enaruna improve due to his size and length.
I get a weird feeling about Bates. Self will add a guard or two though for sure.

I had checked Rivals awhile ago , and saw that Baylor was tied with us. - -frick just like another scenario how we hear oh KU lock KU lock just like Ayton - KU 100 % lock then BAM something smells

FWIW - - Hickman and Bates are both showing favorable for KU at THIS POINT this Brown bullshit smells big time

This Baylor thing is just strange with Brown - -DeAndre Ayton x 2 ? Buy me a Championship Drew , what really kicks me in the nads is isn’t Brown at Sunrise Academy with Clemmons ? - -something just doesn’t add up. - - all we hear is KU KU KU KU - -then this ? - - come on - - let’s be real , unless the looming NCAA investigation possible sanctions is playing hell with these kids and scaring them off. IF NOT then Baylor is not even close to the prestige program that KU is just makes zero sense - -needless to say I’m P - - - - - real. Has Bill lost his edge, is our staff geting stale ?

Hard to land top talent when there aren’t a lot of immediate minutes available, especially when none of the underclassmen are surefire early departure candidates.
A 2021-22 starting 5 of Harris, Thompson, Agbaji, TGF/Clemence, and Dave seems like a solid bet.
If Self and staff feel like Gethro can contribute in 2021, then the front court is the lowest priority. At this point, all attention should be on the back court for 2021 because that’s where KU looks like they’re going to be hurting the most right now in 2021 without much depth, particularly at the 2 spot.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I am thinking a wing will have to fill in at guard. I believe the staff would like to add two guards. Sallis and Hickman in a perfect world but I don’t think Sallis ends up at KU. Hickman and Bates would be fine.

Very fortunate to have landed Clemence. Recruiting is still a giant pile of poo I guess. I’m hopeful for Hickman but I won’t hold my breathe either after this latest letdown
