@wissox83 ya right that wouldn't happen and there were ALOT of other people including on here thought we were cooked so actually so the ones at the game were no different then people here. Me included I apologize for some things I said in the game and apologize for it It is what happens when your a fan and you KNOW that this team should never be in this position. With them coming back like this just shows what they are capable of when they play Great win and like what has been mentioned this just migh turn this team around some - - -- just proves what they CAN do but they sleep walked through 3/4 of this game and not of ever been in this position in the first place,

Like I said I apologize for things said just a guy that gets wrapped up in the game and knows this team is better then that and it showed in the come back but not sorry for what was said at the time.

@DanR Melvin might be a more important player to the team's success than DP.

The core of this team seems to be Tre, DP and MCJr. I want Flory to be a core guy, but they just haven't managed to make the offense go through him effectively. It's a very different looking Bill Self team, the way things are right now. We used to be so dominant in the post -- Kuan, Withey, T-Rob, Lucas, Azibuke, McCormack... But it hasn't come to fruition yet with Bidunga and Tiller.

            Good news: There's still time.

I was at the big comeback game vs WV. Bandwagon fans left early, some heard outside we were coming back and came back in. Dtae was hot! I can’t remember if it was the game Huggie was ejected.

I'm giving TCU credit for hitting three big threes near the end to stay in touch and we found out what staying in touch can mean. Ice cold Darryn, Ice cold Melvin and Ice cold Jamari.

In 53 min playing time, KU bench only took 3 shots and scored 5 pts. OUCH Bill. Overall, 7 bench pts, with 7 fouls to match. Flory needs to shoot more! 6/7 in 41 min. Oh and only 9 rbs, but both teams shot about 50%.

First I would like to say there was a tie in my verbal reactions they were Shut Up Fran and Shut the Eff up Fran. I wonder if Melvin and Tre showed this much passion and joy elsewhere?

We certainly get a little wild with our player analysis it seems. Melvin is a backup… Elmarko should start… Flory is an average player… DP is a hypochondriac. DP is going to shut it down… Tiller is a better big than Flory.

And we get proven wrong as the body of evidence grows and show us better what our mean expectations should be.

Flory did seem ineffective for the majority of regulation. Whether it was the flow of the game or wires crossed with whatever gameplan or motivation we had to start the contest, I am not sure. Seemed like it took him a while to adjust to not being the focal point of the offense. We also tried to force it down low a couple times with errant passes. Flory certainly made up for it down the stretch. Once he started attacking the glass the offense came. I think those two numbers for him (rebounds and shots) will be tightly coupled going forward as long as DP plays and bryson needs to get used to that reality too. Eat some glass fellas! The opportunities will come but it starts with solid rebounding.

                          Here are the takeaways.

                          Positives:

                          1. It was nice to be on the other side of an epic meltdown after the Houston and Baylor "games" last year.

                          2. DP played 32 minutes.

                          3. DP was clutch at the end of regulation.

                          4. We showed that, when we play with heart, we can be a very good team (though I guess we already knew that).

                          Negatives:

                          1. This result was more of a TCU choke than a KU victory, though there were elements of both

                          2. We played with absolutely no effort for an unacceptably long time

                          3. DP is still cramping

@approxinfinity Who said Elmarko should start and are they legally blind hahah. Tiller was better for much of the game which is crazy because Flory is obviously the much better player when he in engaged.

I don't think Elmarko should be the full time starter but starting him over Tiller for a game or two might be the wakeup call Tiller needs

@Jayhawk_69 i would start jamari instead. Feel like he has earned it.

Can’t remember who the five were for overtime. Wasn’t it both elmarko and Jamari?

Switching 5 would work better with 4 guards

                                        I dont remember either @benshawks08

This too @kjayhawks2.0, was thinking that exact thought when considering benching Bryson. I think we need to see what 4 guards look like. Good opportunity to do while Tiller's in the toughening box.

@approxinfinity I feel like the opposition has watched enough tape at this point to out who can’t guard as well and they set some meaningless screens just to get a favorable switch and then go to hole. Elmarko can be a great defender when he wants to be, Mari is better offensively tho.

One thing I kept thinking was this is good team with free throws. Over the years this has frustratingly not always been the case. Made 30 of them last night.

Another thing that we have that was missing from last year is a dawg. Melvin looks fearless out there most of the time. Very refreshing.

Yet another difference is having a 3 pt assassin. DP’s stroke is so smooth, I expect every shot to fall. As an added bonus he can also penetrate, draws multiple coverage, has good IQ, and last night showed some toughness.

Last season was often tough to watch. This one definitely has a more likable cast of characters. Interesting to see how the season pans out.

When Micheal Jordan scored 69 points, I knew I’d always remember it as the night me and Micheal combined for 70 points — Stacey King, Former Bulls Player
