    I’d take both these kids

Need to look into the other kid but Brown is a Bill Self kid. Everything but a jumper and plays hard.

Brown has been here more times then any recruit in recent memory.

If he goes elsewhere it won’t be because KU didn’t try very hard to land him. He’s probably the top priority in the 21 class.

I want to see Bates get a KU offer. Not based on this pic alone obviously, but daaaamn.

Bates tape was solid from what I saw. Certainly looked like a player on the rise. If they like him we should trust that

  • @BeddieKU23 Still no KU offer fwiw.

    Where does he play?

Kansas City, #115 ranked player right now. He should rise.

Hunter Sallis probably the top target at guard, certainly mutual interest there. Sallis is big time

Wow, Kansas City is turning into an absolute gold mine.

  • Goodnight Jayhawk nation.

  • Piper High School.

Wonder how big this class will need to be.

I see at least 4 spots open after next season. 5 if Thompson blows up and leaves (which I don’t expect) but you never know. The kicker here is not knowing the NCAA’s hammer. We may not have 4/5 spots to give out through restrictions or the opposite occurs and you see some guys leave due to whatever punishments get handed out. Going to be a war figuring this all out.

  • For sure leaving: Lightfoot, Silvio, Garrett

    Maybe: Ochai, Thompson, Jossell

So I think 5 (+/- 1) is a solid number to think about.

I could see a quick processing with Jossell as well.

I hope Thompson and Ochai stay of course.

Dream class is Kendall Brown, Hunter Sallis and a really good big. Probably super tough to pull Sallis if Garrett is the only guard we lose though. I want no part of the Zion Harmon circus.

Not sure what bigs we are realistically in on but we will need one at a minimum.

  • Read that we are One of Seven Schools recruiting this kid the hardest according to him.

Alex Tchikou a 6’11 power forward from Dream City Christian Arizona says : USC , Oregon , Arizona , Arizona State , Mississippi State , Baylor & KU are the hardest at recruiting him # 30 overall player in the class of 2021 and the # 8 ranked Power Forward.

Versatile player can score at all three levels - - shoots the 3 - -can bock shots. - Saying Schools likes how he can play all positions. Arizona came to watch him when he was playing the point.

Looking for a School that will allow him to show his skills I’m assuming at different positions. Said when it comes time to pick a school looking to see how he fits , says he is looking more for fit then even a name of a School. Looking for that School that will communicate with him. - - Out of France , says the biggest transition he has had to make from there to ball in the United States is the speed of the game.

What he had to say about KU : Said KU recruiting him made him proud, saying cause when he 1st got here all he heard was like KU - - Kentucky - -D uke - -the blue bloods. - Saying KU has had a lot of pro’s and Big Names. Looking for the feel he gets for the Campus , the players and the Coach. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Jossell going pro, or him transferring? I would take that class in a heartbeat.

  • Transfer to d2. Maybe he shakes out, but certainly not a sure thing.

  • Not a 2021 kid, but does Bronny spend any time in college at his current trajectory?

who is Bronny? - -haven’t heard of him , but sounds like I should have. – RIGHT ?

  • @jayballer73 Bronny James. LeBron’s kid

OH YA , chances are he will never touch a College floor

  • Sallis bumped to #20 overall, 5* on Rivals. Need.

Wanted him since I saw the offer. Him and SO Bryce… Mercy…

  • Bout time the rankings started noticing him

  • @BShark Not often that a player like that comes out of Nebraska. How we can get him.

  • @dylans You know, I saw some highlights of him not too long ago on ESPN. Is it just me everyone, or does he seem to be not very athletic? Maybe it was just the small sample size.

  • @Marco Freshman? Able to dunk now (he wasn’t last year). Not super impressive yet; big time name recognition though.

  • @dylans Oh, no doubt about that.

  • @BShark

I like Jerrell Colbert for a 21 big

  • @BeddieKU23 We don’t appear to be in that race.

  • BShark said:

Yeah but I think its early for him too. I have no idea who the staff is actually recruiting in 21 for bigs besides Alex. It’s a major need for at least 1 big time post

  • A few others that intrigue, Adama Sanogo 6’9 C playing for the Patrick School (NJ). Just recently got eligible for them and is really solid rebounder. Originally from Mali.

At the 4 spot I would love to see them target KJ Adams, he can shoot outside and get dirty in the post. That’s if they miss on Brown.

Gotta land KB. Kinda all in there.

Don’t think we have a shot with Sanogo. From what I understand, KU will not be landing another player from Mali.

Funny how the Diallo story line went from us doing right by him and fighting for him to it just completely blowing up in our face.

  • We benched him. A top 5 player. Without living up to Self’s words about the value of playing time and experience for young players (Made after Diallo was here). I saw a comment in another thread about our ‘16 team being one of our biggest misses.

Imagine if Self just started and played Diallo 30 minutes beginning January 1? Let him learn, make mistakes, and grow as a player. Lucas was incredibly limited. And as predicted, Lucas was exposed and cost us (vs eventual champ Nova).

That decision was a fateful one.

  • If you watch Diallo now, whom I follow, he still is extremely talented, but not much improved. Sometimes doesn’t even play. He loves KU, comes back and went to Selfs HOF induction. I’m not a huge LL fan, in fact it kills me sometimes, but he has a hi bbiq. Wish we could inject that into diallo.

Yes Diallo himself likes Self/KU but he isn’t the one preventing KU from signing any future players from Mali as long as Bill is here. Kids are often not in control.

  • @BShark Don’t forget KU spent tons to get him eligible too. Others weren’t touching that.

Nike is in the human trafficking business, no doubt about it

  • @FarmerJayhawk It was surprising when we got Doke.

Which kind of started our problems, imo. Next came Preston and then De Sousa.

  • Bates got that KU offer!!!

Looks like the KC Connection is going to pay off again. Just looked at his game, and I’m impressed. If we can sign him now, do! That would leave Sallis to go elswhere, but oh well. I’m all on on signing KC and Wichita kids.

  • Heard Sallis isn’t super high on KU. Think we take Bates to play the Marcus Garrett spot and call it a day

  • @FarmerJayhawk KB, Bates and a ready to contribute big. I’d take it.

  • @FarmerJayhawk

That sucks. He is a stud.

Bates a quality player who I think will rise in the ranks

  • Interesting for a top 100 ish kid he doesn’t have very many offers
