@jayballer73 why did he leave the team? Do we know?
Nothing that I know of, other then just plain and simple possibly thinking playing at a better school for his final year might enhance his chances more of getting a chance at the NFL - - I dunno , I mean he was getting plenty of snaps here - -don’t know what it could be. - -Not anything we can do about it but move on.
Not sure but now sounding possibly like Dom Williams MAY be leaving too - -they was asking Les about him also - -and he said he didn’t want to get into it but expected Dom back at practice- -said he didn’t want really to discuss things - -hell I dunno what’s going on. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@jayballer73 Your points are good. But it IS a little different than working a regular job and going somewhere else. The difference? - nobody cares about you and I working our jobs at the office, or the garbage truck or whatever it is that we do. Nobody.
But everybody cares about the stars of their favorite sports teams. I know you’re a Packers fan. If Aaron Rodgers says tomorrow - “You know what? Screw Green Bay. It’s too cold here. I’m moving to Miami. Big bucks, beautiful babes, warm weather - suck it Green Bay”.
In most Packers fans minds he goes from being the “Savior” to the worlds biggest A-hole. It’s just part of sports and the way fans perceive the stars. In my opinion.

@approxinfinity likely just because the new rule allows it and KU is still bad. I’m curious if Houston’s QB will be the next transfer Heisman hopeful at Oklahoma.
D’Eriq King is nowhere near the QB that Mayfield, Murray, or Hurts are. He’s a solid QB that can help a mid level P5 program, but he’s not an elite prospect.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 lets see if he wants to come to Lawrence lol
-
@kjayhawks Had Les Miles recruited King to LSU, I wouldn’t have ruled out that possibility of KU being a potential destination, but LSU didn’t recruit King out of HS, so it would be very surprising if he considered KU now.
Based on his recruiting profile and current situations of those schools/coaches that recruited him out of high school, I would bet on King ending up at either TCU or Michigan State.
-
well this ought to be ugly but I’ll give my score anyways - -I think we are looking anywhere probably somewhere like 56-10 or 63-10 - attendance will be ugly maybe somewhere in the neighborhood of 25,000 sorry to say. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
It’ll be a good game to try a new qb. Well they all kinda were
-
I predict Pooka gets going and we stay in the game for about 8 minutes lol. Oklahoma 63 Kansas 24. Late Night has brought more folks to town but I think after last weeks set back the best we could hope for 26,500 folks in the stands.
-
56 -3 halftime score. After that, it’s does OU want to be decent, or do they pull a Gary Patterson and go for 100?
2,500 in the stands in 2nd half.

2,500 in the stands in 2nd half.
And 2000 of them will be OU fans and then the KU Band
-
They delayed the kick off by a half hour.
-
over estimated size of crowd - - I was guessing around 25,000 - -this rain and from what I saw looks more like more around 12,000 and probably 5,000 sooners
-
@jayballer73 I’d say close to 20k, good stop by the defense.
-
Wow!
-
Hell of a 99 yard drive. Trying not to get too excited, but we look pretty good!
-
What a throw by Stanley there. Pooka finally broke a good run too.
-
Nice drive. They’ve already exceeded my expectations. Just keep the mistakes to a minimum, and we can hang with them.
-
Just play hard and see what happens.
-
It’s a shame it appears Stanley is playing well against OU because even with Stanley playing his A game, KU still isn’t likely to win this game.
-
Les’s daughter is named “Smacker”? Volleyball nickname or her actual name?
-
Much better first quarter than last week.
-
@DanR nickname
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 very true, his game wins against Coastal and WV.
-
Stanley hasn’t fumbled yet, so that’s another bright spot.
-
Sosinski let me down, man.
-
How do you drop that !?
-
Huge huge drop, could the play breaks it open.
-
I’d have gone for the end zone instead of that pass to the tight end. Maybe that was the plan and it was covered.
-
That’s why Lee isn’t a wide receiver
-
Then we drop a cake walk pick 6, wow
-
no whistle. that’s a bs call
-
Lee is possibly going to be ejected for that one.
-
Argh.
-
Sucks
-
Lee is lucky he didn’t get called for targeting on that hit.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 True, but that hit was not out of bounds.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 that was a weak call, he was in bounds and it wasnt to the head or neck. That’s a good hit if OU does. It sure hell was not a late hit outta bounds.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 original live angle showed he turned his shoulders, but it was close
-
Smacker use to make that noise when she wanted her bottle so they called her that. Smacking her lips.
-
I never argued the late hit out of bounds was the right call, just that Lee was lucky he didn’t get called for targeting because he lowered his head to make that hit.
-
Probably had something to do with the fact that the runner was the QB
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 lee does that a lot
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I agree.
If that was our QB and someone did that, we’d probably want some protection too.
I don’t fault Lee though. It was a football play.
-
@bskeet which is BS, if you run your QB it’s a risk that he gets smoked. Period. Not that it matters but the refs wont let us hang in this. OU is the conferences only hope to make the playoffs.
-
He wasn’t sliding
-
@kjayhawks Yep, that might also play into the call…
-
More flags on KU SMH
-
way too many penalties
-
@Crimsonorblue22 He does and he’s been called multiple times throughout his career for targeting. The bigger issue though that habit is going to result in him not getting up after one of those hits.
-
Unleash Pooka a little more. He loves playing against the Sooners
