RJ Hampton

  • Josh Gordon at 9:59 put his CB pick in for KU - -We now in the lead checking in at 50% for KU and 29 % for Memphis - -keep on Rollin. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Another pick for KU…from a Memphis guy…

Dam - -they must of surrendered - - That’s why we starting to see more Boogie for Memphis.

You think about it though - -Memphis got a VERY solid class with Wiseman - - if the get Boogie - -they get Precious and others

  • The only pick that counts: Has RJ registered his CB pick yet? 🤔

  • Ok got a couple of questions guys , bare with me. - -So let’s play this out IF - RJ does indeed end up committing to us -again how would this effect Rayjon Tucker committing here? - I just think it makes all the difference in the world , I mean I can live with it for sure but I’m just curious.

I think if indeed RJ commits – Rayjon goes to Auburn, the way look at it is - -Devon comes back ( which I fully expect ) that takes care of the PG - - so then that moves RJ over to the 2 spot. - -I don’t think Tucker backing up anyone for his ONE year left - so I think if RJ ends up with us - he either lands at Auburn - - OR stays in the NBA draft -which kind of Sucks - -But talk to me - -let me know.

2nd thing: - -With RJ re-classifying and IF he commits to us then , I would think a big thing for us , would be - -a thing I think we would want would be for Kyree to stay in the 2020 class right , for next year. - -slide right in to RJ’S spot. - - I think in the end - - he too though will end up reclassifying which doesn’t bode well if RJ lands here. - - Although people have been calling him a player that can play almost any spot. – Maybe we could work him at the 3 - -talk to me let me know

Last thing guys is has anyone heard anything about a timeline for Holyfield as to when he wants to decide?

Had to laugh at a comment off the phog about RJ - -they were talking about RJ’S timeline for announcing - saying they look for him to possibly move up his announcement - -talking about him saying he was planning on enrolling wherever he went for the summer 2nd semester classes. - -some was saying why wouldn’t he? - -here is the funny part I thought guy says : - -Maybe he is waiting to announce in July/August so he can get his academics in order so he can enroll. Umm the kid has his academics in order - – - - Rj has like a 3.75 GPA which last time I knew is pretty dam good and like what a 1250 core? - -is that right? - sounds pretty solid to me. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Just got another pick from Jason Scheer a Arizona guy we are now at 53% -to 27 %

  • I have been reliably informed that Hampton and Boogie are mutually exclusive for Memphis.

Ummm sure not what the CB’s Are indicating

  • FarmerJayhawk said:

I think that makes a lot of sense considering both want to be on the ball as much as possible and one of their only good returning players is a PG.

Sometimes people are wrong. KU feels like they have a great shot here.

  • Brother!🤯

I am confused now. You are saying that Memphis is only taking one of them and NOT both if possible. Correct?

  • I just looked on rivals… yes I know it’s not as good as 24/7 CB picks. Any who Bill Hipple picked Tech.

  • Who is Bill Hipple?

  • @Woodrow That’s what I’m thinking too. I’m not saying that that “pick” is legit.

  • Woodrow said:

He’s the guy that picked Tech.

Just saying though, lots of moving parts here. Not sure we’re at the temperature where the moving parts are fluid though.

  • well that settled it LOL

  • Let me translate… If it gets to the end of May Kansas must use precision in their decisions to perhaps stand in a good position.

  • The plan is for Boogie Ellis to sign a LOI, which means he has to decide within the next week. That will tell what we need to know.

  • It keep going up for R.J. AND KU

  • Just Scott Chasen. I like Scott, but he’s in the dark other than a morsel here or there from the staff.

  • Meyer still hasn’t flipped his pick yet - - - -Nothing out of slater yet. - those are the 2 i’m interested in. – Especially Meyer. - - WE ARE NOW AT 62 % – TO Memphis 19 % - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer73 Andrew thinks RJ is going overseas. Meyer probably ditto.

  • Ferguson got paid $500K to go play overseas. I’d imagine RJ is getting offered at least that, probably closer to $750k.

Ironically if he really wants to play he should pick KU instead of overseas. Lots of grown ass men in China and Australia.

Based on previous players who took this route these seem to be the likeliest two. Personally I’d take Australia over China for too many reasons to count.

If he goes overseas, Australia is the best bet. They speak English, so the cultural transition is easier than it is in some of the European leagues. Additionally, while the competition may not be as good, the teams are more well run than the second and third division teams in Europe. And unlike a lot of the European teams, they will play a kid that’s only going to be there for a year.

  • Australia is awesome. No politically correct bs over there. If you’re fat they’ll call you a whale and if you start to cry they’ll ask if the tears taste like gravy. Their PM doesn’t take any crap either. It’s kinda like the US in the 80s when things were awesome.

  • @dylans like the U.S. if we had Universal Healthcare and Stricter Gun Control Laws, Half the cost to attend College (with better repayment plans) and a higher minimum wage.

But I do agree, I love the Australian spirit and attitude towards everyday life.

This is weird but since Australia tightened up their gun laws killing went way down.

Meanwhile there were two major school shootings in the last week or so in the US.

This is really hard to figure out, going to require more time and research.

  • It’s harder in the U.S. context. DoJ spent like a gazillion dollars looking at the effects of the “assault weapons” ban and found exactly nada in terms of effects on homicide rates and crime. Australia also doesn’t have a bill of rights so the government can do about whatever it wants.

But anyhoo. Australia is a lot of fun. Beaches are great.

Yeah sorry for getting on this bullshit. I almost went deeper too.

    BACK TO RJ!

  • Probably wrong , but I thought I had seen some where his dad said over sea’s is not an option

  • FYI, Jerry Meyer will be on KLWN in about 10 minutes talking RJ.
