League Race

  • I never thought I’d say this in a million years…go texas. Ugh! That is hard to say.

  • Texas has won two straight, certainly not limping into the game tonight. I think they pull it out. K-St saw the game last night, they know the pressure is on now

  • I put money on KSU tonight, but I’ll be rooting against them. I just can’t bet on a 14-10 team to pull anything out. UT is one bad half from throwing in the towel for the entire season.

  • Cartier Diarra is out indefinitely for KSU with a hand injury.

  • @Woodrow I saw that. Wonder if it was the windmill?

  • @Woodrow

Not upset by this. Not a fan of him

  • I don’t see any TV coverage for KSU vs UT tonight. Nothing on the ESPN channels. Longhorn network only? 🤬

  • @Gorilla72 It is on ESPN2

  • Vegas has Texas winning by 2-1/2 to 3 points. Vegas didn’t get our game last night right, but I’ve got my fingers crossed they are better prognosticators tonight!

  • Rooting for UT, but I am thinking KSU wins. I know they have choked in the past, but I think the odds are greater that they end up with 4 losses than 5. I hope I’m wrong.

  • Wow. KSU is 5-1 on the road in conference. Wish we could say that about KU! If KU wins out they still need KSU to stumble somewhere along the line. Not a great spot to be in, but KU’s been in worse shape and pulled it out. 🤞

  • @dylans it’s like roles are reversed this year, usually squeak and co aren’t good on the road but starting 3 seniors helps them a ton.

  • @kjayhawks what was his road record? Like 17-34 before this season? Horrible.

  • @dylans that sounds about right. I’m shocked with the murders row they’ve had how good they’ve been, KU, @Baylor, @Texas and finish it with ISU Saturday. If they beat ISU the only realistic shots they have at a loss are us in AFH and on the road at TCU. I was really hoping they’d go 2-2 here. Our margin for error is zero at this point and that’s a lot of pressure right now.

  • I never should have rooted for tejas. They are a trash team with a trash coach.

  • @kjayhawks I think their tourney run last year made everyone more confident, and getting Wade back is the biggest difference of all. He seems to have a major drive to get them back there so he can play, too.

  • @Fightsongwriter Lesser of two evils.

  • You know I was sitting there watching – well trying to watch K-Straight last night , and man it just pains me to try and sit and watch them - -It is all I can do. They just play such an ugly brand of basketball not even really sure what it is = =just ugly - -well at least to me/boring - come down and milk the clock down to almost 7-8 seconds if not less on almost every possession - then ending up breaking it down from some one as a one on one play drive - -hate it - -boring - I understand I guess ya they have a decent team - -but I just don’t ge it - -trying to sit and watch them - -just makes me want to get up and go to the frig pull out that bottle of Bourbon take another shot and regain myself.

I think on the offensive end for them right now – they are living in a fantasy land - - a dream - -they playing over their heads they NORMALLY are NOT that good on the offensive end - -the last 5-6 games they have had to be dream walking - sooner then later they are going to revert back to their typical offensive ways , whether it be in the regular season - Or post season - I’ve seen it too many times where they have gone 8 even 9 minutes can’t score at all - - if at all. - -I’m trying to find something - -other then the defense - -I’m just not getting it with this team K-State

  • @jayballer73 Unfortunately, they are in sole possession of first place. Maybe we should watch some film and do whatever it is they’re doing.

Never thought i would have said that…

  • @jayballer73 I watched KSU play Texas as well. I rarely, I mean almost never, watch a game not involving KU. However, I was stuck in a post meeting setting with 40 or so KSU fans of the group of 50. You are absolutely correct their style of play is unwatchable. Even the KSU fans didn’t care to watch, there were only 2 that I noticed watching even as intently as I was. The fans instead spent the game taking about how great they are going to be in football and how bad a hire Les is (I think they’re scared). Most did check the acore, but didn’t care how it got there. Kinda like me and baseball just read the box score and get all you need. Not good fans in my books. I enjoy the fans that talk more about their accomplishments than running down their opponents. The fun thing is I was semi-undercover, strangers and no KU hat. I got to ask a few questions they couldn’t answer like when was KSU’s lady final four? (1964)

  • @dylans -that is almost laughable , when their talking about Les being a bad hire - - I think your right , I think they are worried their days of owning KU in football is over. - -Les is a great hire - -it seems he assembled a really good group of assistants in the Coaching aspect , and the class that he landed in the amount of time he had was pretty dam good I think.

But ya, again their style just makes my stomach knot - -just boring basketball and pretty simple and I STILL just believe that they will come back down to earth. - -I know it sounds stupid when yes they are on top Right now - - and ya maybe - - maybe they do win it this year - -doesn’t change that it is really ugly how they play - -and like you said even their own fans don’t watch , they will come crashing back - -it’s just we just really have to take care of our business and win and then take the results. - If any of these other teams can’t take care of their business then K-Straight will win the Conference.

I do still feel that they will lose two more games in conference. I think they pounding their chest a little to hard right now. - -I think we get them in the phog - - and then I truly believe Iowa State goes in to Manhattan and beats them -we will see but I truly believe they STILL gonna have 4 league losses. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer73 I also think they will have 4 losses. But I think that might mean they win it all by themselves. I do think you’ll have 5 teams separated by no more than 2 games…maybe even 1.

  • Looking at the schedules, I’d be shocked if KSU didn’t at least get a share. They really only have 3 losable games left. I also think that we have 3 games left that are going to be tough to win. If we are lucky we win out and get a share. KSU would basically have to have an epic collapse at this point to finish with 5 or 6 loses to not get a share. At this point it really doesn’t matter because we prob get last years vacated anyway. Maybe we will be 3 or a 4 seed and can play an underdog role for once in march.

  • When the pressure is on, things can and have happened at this point in the past 14 years.

If we win the rest (doable), we’ll at least get a share of the title, IMO. I think we’ve gone through the growing pains.

If we win the rest and KSU somehow wins all of their games (except for KU in Lawrence), then they deserve it. I still think they’ll screw at least one game up if not a total meltdown before it’s over.

If that played out - -we would share the title and we ourselves KU fans could continue to count or consectitive championships - -BUT the good ol NCAA strips us - -BUT we will know - -kind of sucks but. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer73 - even if NCAA strips it, KU still won. Nobody can change the facts…

  • @Gorilla72 If the NCAA “strips” our FF and leaves the other programs without investigation, we should simply keep the banner raised. Of course, if we get a big sanction, and others are left untouched, I’ve long held we should name names, expose where the bodies are buried, and burn the place down. In fact, we should be telling the NCAA of our plan about right now.

Exactly - -we will know - -even though it won’t be reconized. -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
