KU vs TCU chat

Doke’s a good kid but about as much fun as a battering ram, and slows everything down, not good at kicking out.
Ogbaji smart, plays d, CALM… alternative Vick, and team connector. No jitters man! wow.
We’re a different team. The ball will move, the runs can happen. This could all work out.

About 10 minutes with out Dotson and Q? I’ll take it.
Really good minutes from KJ, Garrett and Ochai. Garrett is the clear back-up PG imo. So Garrett is the back-up PG and the starting 4. VERSATILE!
-
@BeddieKU23 just glad he shot it
-
@BeddieKU23 Good point - without that, we would have been right about our season average…
-
Ochai is obviously a keeper.
-
Ochai looks good so far. So…Why no DMac until the end of the half?
-
Self mentioned that TCU plays 4, sometimes 5 guards. I hope that’s the reason DMac isn’t playing much tonight.

The Frogs are getting into the paint and close to the rim with the greatest of ease…
Yes, and I fear that will be what life will be like from now on without Doke to protect the rim.
-
@Hawk8086 Self in love with Dedric and wants to go with teh 4-1 and see what he’s got there.
-
I think Big Dave will play more against certain matchups.
-
@approxinfinity But, I think I would have put him in over Mitch when Dedric went out…but Self typically goes with experience.

Yep. I like this a lot. At the 4 he can focus on defense, at PG focus on distribution.
-
Did I hear Fran say that one reason why they red shirted Ochai in the first place was so that KJ could get minutes?

Oh it will definitely be an issue. The team is still mostly playing solid defense tonight.

Lay-up or pass it for Garrett lol.

@Hawk8086 I wasn’t listening to Lucky Charms, that doesn’t surprise me though. Surely there were some promises made re: KJ’s opportunities when he and Dedric came on.
-
I wonder how the guys could be ranked in terms of team popularity.
From most popular with his teammates to least, how would you rank the players?
-
@BShark what is your scotch of choice

Not drinking tonight which is probably why my posting is mildly less obnoxious.
-
Sure seemed like Charlie was in there more than four minutes that half

interior defense?

4 min too long
-
I don’t know if you guys ever noticed this, probably not, but every time you go to ESPN website there’s all kinds of stuff about Duke there.
-
The lack of Dave I am assuming is because TCU plays 4 guards. Self can’t sit Dedric very much and when he did he went with Mitch in the first half.
Dave will obviously play more in games against teams with 2 bigs. Just going to be a game by game deal with him.
-
@BShark haha. I think you were hating on the team because we were stuck in the No Fun Zone before Doke -> Ogbaji.

The biggest issue now is lack of a rim protector. Dedric as the only big is very far from that. Mitch is actually quite good defensively, but as a 5 with 4 other guards, certainly he would run into match-up problems and he is more of a help defender in the paint. Dave has the tools, but is 19.
-
@wissox Uh - they make sure you can’t miss it…
-
Garrett takes some shots that are just throwing the ball at the basket.
No concept of putting touch on the ball.
-
TCU will hammer it inside here on out
-
At least garrett hit the rim on that prayer.
-
I mean who shoots layups throwing the ball down at the basket while running at the basket from 5 foot out? Is Marcus aware that the things he does on layups do not look like shots that people make?
-
Vick now 5 of 7 of our TOs
-
Rebounders
-
@Bwag gonna break his record
-
Can’t argue with Fran on that analysis
-
Every game Dotson does something that reminds me of Frank and for that I’m so thankful he is here
-
Dotson’s lack of a outside shot is why I am not even remotely concerned about him leaving after this year. He adds that then he’s got something.
-
Lightfoot for rebounding?
-
@Bwag Almost another TO on Vick there, threw it at his feet. Slowed the play down, ball rotated slowly to Q, Q tried to make up for the lost half step and makes the charge.
-
Yes?
-
Damn it Q
-
Yes!
-
I want to go one on one with Grimes.
I would destroy him.
I’m 60 btw
-
@approxinfinity Im streaming behind you 30 or so seconds…was going to comment on the same
-
@nuleafjhawk Sorry bro, but my money is on Grimes.
-
AG. BA. JI!
-
-
Oooo
-
@wissox Are you watching this game?
Have you watched all season, except for the first game?
He’s one exception to my hatred of the “over-rated” chant.
-
I am in favor of starting Agbaji.
