Where’s Grimes from?
-
Was that Zion Williamson bobbling the ball in Layup line?
-
Dick v needs to be taped in the locker room.

@BShark meanwhile the refs were as bad as the announcers.
Yep. Fouls kinda evened out but it was still absolutely horrible. Missed a lot of travels on MSU, felt like they got away with more. I’m biased, but still. Even whistle in the first half and who even knows what the score is. 2nd half KU wasn’t as good on D I feel in part because guys were worried about how the game was being called.
-
Hey Dickie V, time to empty your drool bucket. You’ve still got another two hours to salivate over Zion.
(AKA the Second Coming of Wilt, Russell, Jordan, and Jesus Shuttlesworth…)

Bad-assia.
-
@Bwag Texas. Shades of Barkley though (Alabama I think)
-
Real nice win over a veteran team. We lost some of the momentum in the 2nd half, but quite an impressive performance by our freshmen guards.
-
They really looked as mature as any frosh we’ve had.

I really think all our guys having like a million fouls each at the half got in their head a bit defensively. This team can be LIGHTS OUT on D. MSU had ab-so-lute-ly nothin’ in the first half when the refs weren’t bailing them out.

To the wall. Lol
-
@Crimsonorblue22 agree.
-
Kj struggled too. He’s usually a junkyard dog.

Born in Houston, went to school in The Woodlands, Texas.
-
MSU shot 52% from three, took 35 fts, and lost. Jeeeez.
-
Second half… Eh.
We’re really pretty good and we’re not even very good yet. Ludicrously high ceiling.
Can Grimes repeat that performance or will he be streaky as some think.
-
Ommmmmmmg the MSU 247 board right now.
I’m in tears from laughter. 1,000 Dollar Bill comments and they think because Nick Ward can’t stop Doke he’s awful.
-
Yeah, the second half looked like the very first game of the year. MSU made sure to not let Dedric beat them and he still got something like 22 points and 17 rebounds. No one can stop our inside play. I thought Dotson and Grimes did a lot of good things. Dotson will learn how and when to attack in transition, but still a lot of good things. We have a long way to go and we are already really good. Gonna be a great year guys.
-
DLawson. His worst game at least offensively?
5-18 0-2 14 6 2 20pts
-
And the Nick Ward defenders think Doke is 7’2’’.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 he looked better tonight than during the exhibition games. Once he gets into the flow, he will contribute a lot for us.

20/14/6/2/2. Dude FILLS the stat sheet.
And yeah, super agree with this. The ceiling on this team is in the atmosphere.
-
@BShark I think it goes to show how good Dedric is when 20/14/6/2/2 is a “subpar game”.
-
@HawkChamp Yep. If he shoots more like normal he has at least 3 more 2 pt makes in this game. A few of his misses were super close too, rolling out and stuff like that.
-
Dotson and Grimes were just flat tremendous. The poise they showed was better than the guys that had experience.
-
Switched over to the Gonzaga game for awhile. Idaho State has a Muggsy Bogues-sized guy who’s throwing his body around against the bigs. (Listed at 5-8 on the roster…no way.) Entertaining, if nothing else. .
-
@BShark yeah, missed several layups and some outside shots.

We’ve seen what Self has done with 5* guards before… cough2008coughcough
-
Coach Self calls Grimes “Q”; so will I.
-
Only scored 6 points in the final 5 minutes with 5 missed free ones in that span.

Is that a political reference ? Q being a deep state theorist? I can see Self buying into FBI conspiracies!
Lol
-
I thought Q made the fancy gadgets for James Bond.
-
-
Zion Williams. 1 basket. $100k. Wonder what the Duke cost per point will end up at?
-
Any KU references in Duke/UK game commentary yet?
-
@Bwag Of course not.
-
-
Dedric had a “bad game” with 20 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.
Can’t wait until he starts playing well lol
-
Does Zion get the, what was that player at OU last year?, treatment from ESPN? With crazy unrelated factoids and childhood pics etc…
-
Vick was probably the most disappointing player for KU. He needs to play better. Grimes looked like the senior and Vick the freshman tonight.
-
What’s the over/under day count to a Zion W Kindergartner teacher interview?

32 minutes with his stat line is YIKES. Based on the minutes he is a ride or die guy, hope he starts playing like it.

Was he bad or just not at forefront?
-
@Bwag And not one word about his price…
-
tucky is getting their ass kicked…
-
2 points (1-7), didn’t get to the line, 3 boards, 3 dimes, 3 thefts, 2 turnovers. He needs to do better than that. I thought he took some shots that were out of rhythm.
-
I’d say Vick is engaged, which is saying a lot.

That narrative is only in place for KU. DOLLAR BILL DERPPPPP

Glad to gain one on them.
