Well ya guess that’s true , hadn’t really thought about it like that I reckon. In this particular case I am really not overly worried anyways, with His family going to KU he has been introduced to KU pretty solidly anyways I imagine and he knows all about the KU football program difficulities -but yet your 100% right. - I sure would like to see it become at least somewhat of a more balanced sports situation though you know? - I mean at least to where we as fans could look forward to a nice Saturday afternoon of College Football to compliment our basketball. plus isn’t it true as I have heard I believe that football is the revenue maker in College sports?

Jacobs is an interesting situation. All the articles I have read of him (which there are not many) seem to indicate he is playing well. The drop in the rankings is somewhat surprising and worrisome; I wonder if his height is being factored as a bigger negative than we think, particularly when ranking services appear to be gearing up to evaluate player for immediate NBA potential since that is coming in the not too distant future and Jacosbs pro potential appears very limited.
Every picture I have seen of him he is always wearing KU gear and it would be pretty tough for him not to come, at least initially, to KU.

As for Jacobs I have family and friends in Chicago and the reviews are pretty mixed. He sounds like he has the pitbull mentality/right amount of crazy you need to succeed under Self and he does some nice things, but he needs to increase his skill level. He absolutely loves KU so it would be a big feel bad if KU essentially cut him and it probably wouldn’t go over well with Mac Fire either.
Additional comments
So yeah Adam Miller is a stud PG that is also playing for Mac Irvin Fire. If KU/Self cuts Jacobs, and it isn’t a mutual decision that would likely effect KU’s chances there.
KU is well positioned for a strong guard haul in 2020 (Berry, Miller, Thompson, Strawther*), but when you start eliminating some of the options essentially, it could end poorly. For this reason I think there is a chance KU sticks it out with Jacobs. Though I believe Illinois is EXTREMELY strong with Miller and very much the favorite at this time.
From a pure basketball standpoint I would take Issac McBride. He’s really good but has been under the radar for a long time. For awhile his AAU team was team Penny which had the Lawsons, James Wiseman, Zion Harmon, DJ Jeffries etc…
He got a bit more exposure, and his KU offer when he switched to Joe Johnson Arkansas Hawks this Spring/Summer iirc.
*Strawther might end up more of a forward. Very talented and loves KU. Not entirely sure of the connection there.

Based on rankings, who would have thought Mason would end up consensus POY? Or Devonte barely miss it? Amazing development for both and big kudos to the staff that saw that potential.
KU used to be Big U but recently has developed more guards and wings than bigs. If Jacobs develops to be 70%-80% as good as Mason or Graham I would be pleased.

@JayHawkFanToo I’m not going off rankings with Jacobs and the kid that would possibly be replacing him is unranked. Mostly for the reasons I laid out but is a he’s a hell of a player.

Jacobs is playing well but not getting a lot better. I certainly have questions about his long term ceiling. With Frank I never did. He’s a freak show of an athlete and a great leader. Jacobs isn’t either of those (at least yet).

Anthony to Duke is contingent on A LOT of things. Honestly I think Oregon and even Nova may be more likely. Word is the Anthony’s weren’t that impressed with the whole Duval experiment at Duke and for sure don’t want to play alongside Tre Jones. Kansas should be on his list and may get an OV but I’m not too hopeful about anything serious.

Big man Oscar Tshiebwe cut his list to 4 and KU was not on it. Not sure how high of a priority he was for the staff.
Final 4 is Baylor, Kentucky, Illinois, & WVU.

Yep. From what I understand it was just a matter of KU/the staff making him a priority and they did.

Yup. The staff isn’t taking commitments from bigs unless their names are Hurt or JRE until further notice.

Anthony Walker a 2019 F will be at late night. Unofficial so he is paying his own way.
When talking about schools recently in an article
Kansas: “Kansas is big in player development and I know their program will stick with me on and off the court. I’d always be a part of their family forever if I decided to go there and that gives me a good feeling.”
He’s a plan C or so I would have to guess. Not a bad player but not a priority. Made his top 8 with zero effort and sadly for KSU they did not despite an offer. Poor Bruce.
Looks like he is progressing things now but if KU did need to take a swing for him it probably wouldn’t be too hard. Adidas AAU team, going to Brewster this year etc…
@BeddieKU23 Has your buddy at Brewster mentioned anything about him?

I will check with him. He did mention recently he was excited about Kai Jones being there. He mentioned KU has kept tabs on him and they hope he waits until spring.

Kai has really exploded in the rankings.
Doesn’t look like he is in a hurry. I don’t see that he has scheduled any visits nor has he made any big cuts.
Maybe that Bahamas connection with Coleby will finally pay off.

Second off, they’ve been recruiting me since this time last year and they really picked it up this summer and then they have a lot of opportunity for me on the wing. Quentin Grimes is probably leaving, LeGerald Vick will be gone after this year, Dedric Lawson will be leaving, so that’s three spots on the wing and then the Sam Cunliffe transfer, so really four spots on the wing so I think I can come in and play early there.

Hmmmm, now though I don’t have a PHD - - or any STD’S - - - or other then a lot of D’S - -that I got in throughout School middle School and High School , I may not be the brightest light in the house BUT if I was to take a swing at those comments , these comments to me sure sounds pretty much like a kid that has already made his decision. - MIGHT be wrong - - -COULD be wrong , but for a kid to say that KU is his dream School and follow it up with these other comments? - -Sounds like a kid that has bought the program - I"ma thinkin recruit # 1 pretty much sowed up - -we shall see. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@jayballer73 Good ole rankings. I was hoping KU would try to lock him up when his other offers were Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word, but already having 1 early commitment at the time I can see why they didn’t.
He has always had that smooth jumper.

KU scheduled an in-home with James Wiseman and he’s coming for Late Night. Might as well take the free trip I guess. Because he’s staying home.

Interesting, I thought Kentucky and Memphis were the run away leaders. 24-7 has him ranked #1 and Rivals #3. It would be a real nice pick up but I would be surprised if he ends up at KU.
