Darryn Peterson

To me when Self started talking about the parents wanting him to be 100% before he plays was a little bit of him calling them out for such. Iām willing to bet his parents learn a very hard lesson once he signs an NBA contract, they have zero say in what goes down from that point forward. Aināt no NBA team listening to that noise, Iāve been told Carl Henry learned that same lesson pretty hard once upon a time. Obviously heās a much better player than Henry but with how some of the other freshman are actually playing Iād be shocked if he goes number #1 playing so sparingly with the side show circus.

The first pick is worth that. He is still trending to be the first pick currently despite this saga. He has been heavily scouted.
Now, there should be healthy criticism about these injuries and whether they could slide him a spot or 2 in such a loaded draft especially if Boozer and Dybansta continue to dominate games the way they are.
It sure would be nice to see what the hype is about in a KU uniform
-
Has anybody tried offering him a banana?
-
@Jayblaze pickle juice? Anyone got pickle juice?
-
Did he have cramps during the summer?
-
@crimsonblu22 it has been a consistent problem but in highschool he would play through it or try to
-
@BShark I'm confused. If he's had this problem for years, why would the NBA even look his way? If I was an NBA scout I'd tell him to work on a business degree where he can sit behind a desk all day and not injure himself further and I'd spend my 50 mil more wisely.
-
If things don't change with Darryn he could very easily NOT SEE that 50 MILLION. could drop in the draft. this year is really loaded
-
We are in between a rock and a hard placeā¦
-
@TYOHawk I Even with all this drama I now believe 100% Darryn will be play in rgw opener. Has had quite a bit of time in between floor time, been hearing he has been practicing, The REAL question will be what are the odds for the next game

The impact on NIL donations to programs I'm reading is already starting to suffer. Give to the athletic department fund you read and so you give a wad sitting around to your favorite university so they can get this guy or that guy and then he drives on down I-70 or I-35 to some other university with your wad of money now in his own pockets, or at least some of it. I'm guessing these donations are going to dry up real fast. I understand the D(n)P situation is different, but goodness how many people made sure that D(n)P got paid and have been rewarded very little for their investment in the program. I'd be pissed, but I don't have to worry about it because I don't have the kind of money needed to donate to KUAthletics.

@wissox83 wait, isnt Kansas basketball being a top 10 program again reward enough? Do you think Flory comes back if DP decommits? Are you sure Tiller, Melvin, and Tre come?
I would argue that said people should stick to selling cars or whatever they do.
Will we pay that much for the next DP? Probably not. We'll do what we need to do every year to field a competitive team.
-
@approxinfinity the question becomes could we have gotten a AJ or another top 5 recruit that actually played over DP? I also was told DP coming was huge in Flory and several other players staying or coming in but they may regret it if he never plays a meaningful minute here.
