I know no one really cares but that never stopped me before!

  • Badgers over Purdue. A respite from the gloom.

OSU getting hammered by St. Penn.

  • I love basketball, I’ll watch any good game, watching Arizona vs Arizona State currently. Watched WSU get every call to beat Temple at home, shot more than double fts and people claim only KU gets calls lol.

  • @wissox Congrats! Big victory. (Although you are correct that most of us don’t intrinsically care, we care a little because you care so much!) (But it would not be the same if you were, say, a Duke or Syracuse fan…)

I too watched that Arizona. Arizona State game. - -Mercy just makes my mouth drool to think if we had ended up with Ayton. That still bugs the hell out of me - - -we were supposed to be in good shape with him. - - -then comes announcement day and he says Arizona and people wondering WHAT? - -WTH?

The kid is a MAN - can handle the ball well ended up last night with what like 25 points - - - 14/15 rebounds – 3 blocks last I heard - -3 assists - I really like Doke BUT damn not even close in comparison mercy we could of used him - -every time I see this guy has to make me wonder - - -what if. - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @kjayhawks The media has made such a big deal over WSU the past 2-3 years, trying to convince themselves that they’re a real team. I’m sure the refs are benefiting very nicely, - ESPN probably bought Marshall’s last house.

It took a gargantuan black/white effort to get past might Temple. Can’t wait until they play some real teams.

  • Home teams get more calls, particularly at the college level, where some officials are swayed pretty heavily by the home crowd. That can really affect the outcome of games.

They still have two games to play against Cincinnati those should be interesting.

  • @justanotherfan You’re mainly right, but if you had seen the last three calls against Ethan Happ last night you might change your opinion a little!

  • @nuleafjhawk, @jayballer73 Two or three weeks ago a local Wichita TV sportscaster was talking about the WSU @ Cincinnati game. He called it “the game of the century.” At that time, I think Cincinnati was ranked in the 7 - 9 area with WSU in the 13 - 15 area.

  • @wissox I don’t mind. I really liked the final four team a few years ago.

  • @Barney You might feel differently if you lived in Wichita. A couple of Saturday’s ago I watched KU vs OSU in a public venue. It was easy to spot the WSU fans who were there as they were cheering each missed bucket, errant pass, turnover or foul by KU. I believe that if the WSU fans were to have their DNA tested by 23 and me, the majority of them would learn they are related to Iowa State’s Mr. Weatherwax or the KSU bunch with their F*** KU signs. But how classy can we expect fans to be if their head coach, reverting to age 4, calls another D1 team names? (No disrespect intended toward those who are age 4!)

  • @bcjayhawk “I believe that if the WSU fans were to have their DNA tested by 23 and me, the majority of them would learn they are related to Iowa State’s Mr. Weatherwax or the KSU bunch with their F*** KU signs.”

Change “DNA” to “IQ” and delete “by 23 and me” and it still makes a lot of sense.

  • For the record, I grew up in Wichita back in the 50’s and 60’s when WSU had some basketball cred and still have relatives living there. So I pay a little attention to the Shockers.

I am impressed with their accomplishments over the last several years. I wondered what would happen after Ron Baker and the others from their team graduated. That team was fun to watch and I cheered for them. I have to acknowledge that Greg Marshall has done a good job of carrying on their success in the last two (?) years. Shamet Landry is an entertaining player to watch and even Conner Frankamp is carrying his weight. I do wish Greg Marshall could develop a more mature personality, but that’s probably asking too much

  • @bcjayhawk I’m 59 years old and, except for the times we’ve played them, always rooted for Wichita State.

Until they hired Greaseball. I cannot stand him. He repulses me, he’s stupid, can’t coach (Playing weak teams in a weak league don’t make you a good coach. Even the occasional lucky wins vs good teams), he has a giant greasy forehead and I imagine he has bad breath and B.O.

    Other than that, he’s ok.
