Doka stock takes a Nose Dive
-
Gosh I hate to say it, but I think Coach did this on purpose. For what reasons I don’t know. Yet it was painfully obvious that Doka needed to come out of the game. Not sure what kind of wild card the River Boat Gambler has up his sleeve, yet watching the closing minutes of that game seemed intential.
Greatly and sadly I believe this all but assures Doka is coming back for his Junior and maybe even his Senior year. Yet sadly last nights free throw woes may have him cost him millions and a real chance to ever play at the highest level.
Missing free throws is one thing. Yet the way he missed them, has scouts and the media abuzz that Doka can’t make a jump shot either. I key tool to have for a big man playing in the NBA.
Trying to think here. I know Shaq wasn’t great at freethrows or a jump shot. I do believe Barkly was a poor shooter as well. Yet is there a place in the NBA for this type of big anymore. I don’t watch much NBA games, yet it appears to me that NBA teams are looking for mobile bigs that can stretch the floor.
Great for KU, yet maybe not so great for Doka?

Barkley has a career FT average of 0.735, not really that bad.
-
Barkley’s golf swing, however, is to Fred Couple’s as Doke’s FT form is to Rick Barry’s.
-
I told yall that he is going to come back next year. No way he gets drafted. Every player in the NBA can dunk. Thats all Doke can do efficiantly.

Andre Drummond is a career 40% FT shooter. Doing just fine in the league. FT shooting will not be the reason he comes back to school. SMH

Plenty of other reasons though.

Definitely, I hope those other reasons outweigh the other reasons he would leave. Just pointing out big men do struggle to shoot FT’s and have productive NBA careers, even in today’s game

@BeddieKU23 Absolutely. Shaq, Ben Wallace, Andre Drummond, Deandre Jordan etc… Even Emeka Okafor had a solid NBA career.

Doke’s biggest challenge will be mobility. He’s a big guy, but he has to be able to competently switch onto some of the quickest guards in the world in the new NBA and defend those guys in space. If he can show he can do that, he is a lottery pick. If he can’t, he probably comes back to school because there’s nowhere to put him in the modern NBA.

Doke has hands the size of Catcher’s mitts.
