KU Nova home and home

Interesting pattern here. Lose to UK in the tourney, we play them regularly. Lose to Stanford in the tourney, home and away. Lose to Nova in the tourney, home and away.
Anyone expecting Oregon or WSU on our schedule in future years?

@mayjay We played Washington St. a few years ago at Sprint Center in a one off. I imagine if there was ever going to be a return game, it probably would’ve been played in Seattle instead of Pullman though.
I wouldn’t mind a home and home with Oregon either because we’ve pulled some recruits out of the Portland area in the past.

It’s a good series as Wright has made Nova a consistent top 20 team. We played there with the 04-05 head scratching team that started out ranked #1, 14-0 and 20-1 before the wheels fell off (sorry, still one of the worst feelings after that year). But i don’t remember them making a return trip.

@kjayhawks We had played them at AFH the year before, and won 86-79. That game was January 2, 2004, right before conference started. The game in 2005 was Jan 22 after 4 conf games.

What year did Mario punk Jay? That was funny stuff. Not good enough for mr. wrongs team.

This is GREAT NEWS!
Nova is always a team we have trouble with. We need to play them regularly in order to figure their style out. And Jay is a very good coach, which always creates a challenge for Self to step up his game. So playing Nova is not only good for our players, but also our coaching staff!
We need to replace more of these silly November games with totally inferior teams and replace them with real challenges where we can learn from. I believe these current silly games have a negative impact on our season. These games build a false sense of where our team is at, so our players don’t fight as hard to improve during the fall. Our main team development through practice happens NOW, until our Big 12 season starts. From there on, our development happens through game experience.

@dylans I believe it was in the the tourney 2008 Sweet 16.

@mayjay The thing that made me laugh the most:
There was one play where I (Mario) threw a lob to Shady on an inbounds pass and he dunked over Scottie Reynolds. Right before I threw it I looked at Jay Wright and said, “Watch this!” That game was definitely personal for Sherron and me.
