Not quite KU stories, but KU related.
Texas Tech rocks Northwestern 85-49. NW, with a #20 next to their name for ranking. TT might be a dangerous team.
Missouri has 36 straight road losses the longest in NCAA. Their archrival Kansas has a 45 game road losing streak in football, the longest in NCAA history.
The difference is we have an awesome basketball program and Missouri has neither. I’ll take being Kansas any day.
Watching Josh Jackson playing right now. He made a 3 for his first points of the game, but that didn’t stop him from turning to the Bulls bench for a little trash talk. His first points were at the end of the 3rd period. Not a time to trash talk in my opinion, but he’s probably not going to be my favorite ex-Jayhawk.
Joel is my favorite ex-Jayhawk, but Frank is getting some PT for the perennial losers in Sacramento. Hope he can find a role in the NBA. I think he will.
Grayson Allen probably didn’t have any friends or training growing up. How else to explain his tired act? If I was a Duke fan I’d be in Coach K’s office tomorrow demanding he kick him off the team just for the embarrassment he brings to that fine institution.
I still have college eligibility left, I wonder if Bill Self could use someone like me? I can shoot FT’s with my eyes closed and make them as much as many college players make them with their eyes open.
-
@wissox so is the eligibility use-by period more or less than a hundred years?
-
Careful you said:
@wissox so is the eligibility use-by period more or less than a hundred years?
Either way I do sneak in under that.
-
@wissox I’d pay to see you in short shorts running up and down the court. Second thought, I might go blind! Try out my cpr!
-
@wissox embiid’s the best trash talker in the league!
-
Josh is an hard one to figure.
-
Josh needs a couple years in the league. He will settle in and be a professional.
-
@approxinfinity I hope so. @Crimsonorblue22 i don’t think best and trash talker go together.
-
@wissox I think Doke should try shooting freethrows with his eyes closed. Couldn’t do any worse. But Coach K is not about to give up on Grayson Allen. I’d bet he couldn’t be lured with a million dollars to do so. Of course, a million dollars represents probably only 1/10 of K’s annual income…
-
@wissox he’s popular for trash talking!
-
@wissox I agree with you about Texas Tech, I was impressed maybe not as much with the win BUT by the amount of size of the win. Quality win for them, an early win in the season but it’s early for TT as well as Northwestern. - - Northwestern is ranked 20th in the Nation although I was told rankings don’t mean anything or as much this early, so if that’s the case I guess maybe - - - -maybe there so be no rankings for anybody until umm say Conference season starts, might mean more then. -So don’t take our ranking serious cause it’s to early.
It was a quality win for sure, Iowa State also seems to be coming around a little, I’m not really that concerned with them but at least they look better then their 1st two outings when they just flat out stunk the place up.
Not really sure what Josh problem is - off to a slow start, I’m sure he will come around, but ya I agree when your struggle when you get a chance to play - -now is not the time for him to be doing any trash talking. - - - leave that up to Daddy LaVar - -it seems to fit him just fine, let him make an ass of himself. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@wissox: Sorry, I think your eligibility in Div I or II is up unless you are much more recently graduated than I think. 6 years, I believe, from when you first entered college or when you turn 25. Something like that.
They might grant a waiver for military service. Not sure if teaching in Baton Rouge counts for that, even if it was service in a foreign land for a Wisc Yankee.
-
Chris Beard a pretty salty/solid Coach, - Like another said off another thread will be a nice KenPom/RPI for them and the conference - -has them playing very solid D.
This Texas Tech team should not be taken lightly this year, very experienced they start 5 Seniors three of which are Zach Smith , Justin Gray, & Keenan Evans - -they will give us all we want in Lubbock - maybe even a defeat, nothing is a given when you play experience. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@mayjay Yeah, that felt like another country! Back home in Chicago now, so everything is back to normal, except I’m still teaching really tough kids.
@jayballer54 Wow, 5 senior starters? Probably doesn’t happen too often. Badgers started 4 last year.
-
Tech could be a top 3 team in the Big 12, particularly if WVU is down more than we anticipated earlier this year. They brought back a lot of experience from a pretty good team.
-
I was fairly impressed with tech last year. Too bad osu couldn’t hold onto their coach, he seemed to have them on the right track also.
-
I think the 2012-2013 tops that. Withey, Releford and Young all “red shirt” Seniors plus Johnson also a Senior. Most experienced team I can remember.
-
@JayHawkFanToo That is the second time on the Board someone has posted “Whitey”!
-
Dang auto correct on the iPad.
