They play very slow and try to muck it up so we best be sharp.

Definitely, #316 in the country in Tempo, KU #251 for reference. Could be a slothfest

Interesting they have 7 guys averaging from 6-11ppg (11 being their highest). 11 guys averaging 10+ minutes a game. Not a lot of size, their top 7 guys in scoring are all 6'7 and under. They shoot 39% from 3 as a team (34% of their pts come from 3), 3pt defense has been our strength so will be interesting to see if KU's streak continues there.

Another hot shooting 3 point team. I'm really interested in seeing our streak of holding teams to under 30% from the stripe so this will be a bit of a challenge.

I really think it's an us thing with the defense. I know there is some variance but this team is long and pesky. Last year I was positive at this time that the defense was a mirage but not this year.

It seems to me that we haven't seen this comment all that often in past years!

We've certainly played enough games now to say its looking like a strength of this defense. There's still too much variance and luck to expect the under 30% streak to continue for much longer but it's been a pleasant surprise. I'm wondering if there was an emphasis on this from coaching aspect or this particular group is just good at making it difficult for teams to get comfortable out there

How do you guys think the US should have responded to the Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands in 1982? I think they should have cut aid to Argentina and perhaps implemented economic sanctions but should not have gotten involved beyond that.

Bomb the hell out of 'em, I always say--both sides. As Mad Magazine's 1960's parody "The Rifle, Man" had our hero Chuck Connors saying to his son (who asked why if he wanted peace in the West he blew away an old man sitting on a fence): "Son, there ain't nuthin' more peaceful than a dead man."

Peace through destruction. With the added excitement of fireworks on steroids!

BTW, did you mean to post in this thread?

I always thought it was Thatcher wanting to project her hawkish attitude. Probably more overkill than needed.

@Jayhawk_69 should we have responded to the British Invasion of the Falklands? Also, the Top Gear todo re the Falklands is an enjoyable diversion.

@JoJoAndMe I have boxes of Mad Magazines! Can't get my kids to even look at them. They don't know what they're missing.

                                    What, me worry?

@wissox83 Naismith? That young whippersnapper had some innovative ideas. That weird game he invented screwed up the economics of peach farming, though. Poor guys had to start buying cardboard and paying their pickers to make boxes because baskets were through the roof. Then glue demand was rumored to be so high there were fewer horses out to pasture.

Funniest thing was after Jim returned a bunch of baskets to the guy he snagged them from. No bottoms left? What the hell did he want baskets for?

@mayjay Yah.. But you can't blame him for coaching.. He tried to tell us not to go there.

As such, he should be known as the first 'players' coach'.
