Texas Christian Horned Frogs

  • Kansas will more than likely tie the longest road losing streak in NCAA history Saturday(I thought they tied last week in ISU preview, my mistake) as they travel to Fort Worth and face off against TCU prime time 7pm on Fox. Last time Kansas played in a nationally televisied game they won(Texas LY) and TCU is the only current B12 member not to beat KU by at least 40 points and coach Beaty by 30. So in the words of Lloyd Christmas " You’re telling me there’s a chance!!" No not really, FPI gives KU a 1% chance to win and TCU could have Pattersons best team since joining the league. Looking at this game TCU has a lotta the same dudes including QB Kenny Hill and do everything running back Kyle Hicks that needed 3 missed FGs and 4 turnovers from Ryan Willis to escape Lawrence with a 24-23 win a year ago. The offense is gonna have its hands full Saturday trying to score against the B12s best defense in terms of points and yards. This coming after the offense looked um terrible (feel like terrible is too nice) last week against a middle of the pack defense in ISU. Hopefully starting RB Herbert and C Ribordy return and at least give us a chance to have decent snaps and run the ball effectively. The defense actually looked decent for time against FBS competition last week for the first time all year. Hopefully they can continue to progress moving forward with KSU and Baylor coming up next in likely the 2 weakest teams left on our schedule. The special teams looked just as bad as the offense with a muffed punt and a punter that for lack of a better description had his head up his a** and couldn’t even catch the snap let alone punt the ball (little strange to see from a senior half thru the year). Hopefully one of these days all 3 units show up and we at least are competitive. I’m a little worried to be honest about wether Beaty has lost this team or not with some of the players comments about not giving max effort last week, which is sickening. You have lost 40 some odd games on the road and everyone says you suck daily and that don’t fire you up as well playing a team stole the win last year from us, then nothing will. I think the best case scenario we only lose by 30. I think TCU realizes finally to not go out drinking til the sun comes up this year the night before the game and handles KU with little doubt 65-13 and finally gets a big win in the series.

  • @kjayhawks Fox is televising it for the historicity of the game?

  • KU has gotten closer and closer every year to beating TCU since TCU joined the league. We either take TCU to OT or ruin the B12’s shot at making the CFP on Saturday night.

There’s no logic to support this pick because there’s no logic for KU always playing TCU close, but it happens every year.

  • @wissox I can’t really think of any other reason to be in prime time lol. Actually going into the year TCU wasn’t supposed to be this good and KU wasn’t supposed to be this bad, couple that with tight games since TCU joining the conference someone probably thought it was an ok choice.

  • I need some one to give a realistic legit reason why Beaty continues to just be plain bull headed and play Bender. - -This guy does nothing - - nothing at all he can’t move this offense period. - Minus 1 yd we are past a laughing stock in America of football. - -It is really hard for me to continue to defend a Coach when he is so blind- -he need to at least play Stanley he sure the hell is not going to do any worse - I mean come on enough is enough let’s get real now damn. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54

You must then know for a fact that the options are better than Bender? I will guess that Coach knows his team and players better than we do and I will give him the benefit of the doubt. With the OL and personnel KU has no QB will shine.

  • @jayballer54 What has Stanley shown this year to take the job from Bender?

I know this much, I know Stanley sure the hell isn’t go to do any worse - How about this why don’t you show me where Bender has moved this club for ANYTHING - -even one 1st down - -please show me - - justify his interceptions to TD’S he is doing nothing - -kind of hard to know if Stanley is going to do worse when he is standing on the sidelines - -I think they have given Bender Plenty - - Plenty of game experience to prove he deserves to be the starting QB - sorry your not winning this discussion with me there is no way he should STILL be starting - Our Radio announcers are pretty much saying the same thing David Lawrence has said multiple times how things are Benders fault - talking about per example how he had like 4 seconds to do something with the ball - - He is just sad. - when your the QB and suppose to be the leader of the offense and we have 2 yards in almost half the game – go ahead tell me Stanley or Starks would do worse then that - - let me see them do worse thanks. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • TCU takes a 24 to zip lead into the break, defense has played decent out side of a few home run balls. Offensively we look lost, have a grand total of 3 whole yards. It’s just crazy to me how bad an offense that returns 8 players can be, its like we have gotten worse each of the last 3 weeks smh.

  • yawn

  • @jayballer54 Tell me what Stanley has done this year in his time on the field to deserve taking the job from Bender? I’ll wait.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 I agree with you Bender still has the best potential and has had 2 solid outings, people forget Stanley stank last year he wa 20/41 with 2 picks in the Texas game. I think if Bender would settle in and the line would give him time he can be a decent QB.

Nice. – OH WAIT ya your right he did do something umm when was that again OH ya the first game of the season against that powerhouse - -what was their name Damn slips my mind - But again please tell me WHAT it is again that is so impressive about Bender? - -OH ya that eye staggering 18 yds passing against Iowa State , that’s it - -NO , NO ,No maybe it’s his 8 interceptions, he has or maybe it’s his 53 % completion rate - - So many staggering stats gets me confused - -No , No, No, it’s how mobile he is - -that’s it -So go ahead tell me again why he is still there? - -Go ahead I’ll wait - - -still waiting - - -still waiting - -hello? ? ? - -HELLO? - -you there? - -Hello? -Still here lmao. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54 the offensive line is bad it don’t matter, our QB has less than 2 seconds to throw and our RBs have to break 2 tackles for a no gain. Tom Brady couldn’t d help this team with Gronk and Kareem Hunt. The line has been a big issue the last 2 weeks.

  • @jayballer54

So, you would play Stanley just because he would not do any worse? Really? Stanley has had plenty of chances and he did nothing to justify playing time.

Did you see where I wrote:

With the OL and personnel KU has no QB will shine.

Are we watching the same game? As soon as the ball is snapped TCU’s defense is all over. You could play Tom Brady and he would not do much better. KU’s offense has been overwhelmed by TCU’d defense. KU just does not have the personnel to compete with TCU…even if Stanley were to play.

Perhaps you can tell me what Stanley has done to merit playing time…other than -he would not do any worse- of course.

  • Here’s the stats for each QB, tell me which one is “better”?

QB 1: 55.2% completion, 6.3 yards per attempt, 111.9 QB Rating, one more INT than TD

QB 2: 53.8% completion, 5.2 yards per attempt, 90.1 QB Rating, one more INT than TD

One of these stat lines belongs to Bender, one belongs to Stanley. Which one do you play?

  • @JayHawkFanToo So if he Cant do ANY WORSE then let him play - - -good night. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 Well let’s see soooo, a been mentioned our O-lineis so bad then won’t matter to play Stanley will it - -what difference is it going to make - -only thing would be Stanley can scramble anyways stretch the play – Bender most of the time looks like the statue of Liberty -swear somebody stole it from NY - - But ya let’s keep Bender - -good night - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • TCU should have been pinned inside the 5 yard and instead they get a TD…which perfectly illustrates the difference in personnel talent.

This is way past ugly. The Rockford Files sounds really good just about now.😡

  • Going to bed my friends long day - -Good Night. - -Basketball season is here - - Let’s take out our aggressions on Mizzery. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54 You giving up on your Yanks so soon?

  • @jayballer54 I’ve asked you multiple questions and yet you have managed to avoid answering all of them because you can’t support your position. With the stats of each QB entering today posted, which one of them would you choose?

    Emphasis on OTHER THAN

    Never mind. I am out.

  • @JayHawkFanToo He’s throwing a hissy fit because he can’t support Stanley playing at this point and because my Astros are looking good so far tonight.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10

No big deal for me. I still have the game on but no longer paying much attention to it.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 Not fair. He is suggesting changing QBs to see if it might make a difference. You are insisting on evidence supporting his suggestion as better than Bender. He gave you stats showing how bad Bender has been, but you want stats that Stanley is better. So, perhaps there aren’t any? Who cares?

When a team is as bad as KU, it is perfectly reasonable to want a change, any change. At this point, I would start scouting the intramural teams. But I don’t have any evidence their players are better–but how much worse can they be?

  • @mayjay are you jayballer54 big brother

  • @mayjay Stanley hasn’t done anything this year or last year to show he’s a better option than Bender. The defense won that Texas game last year, not Stanley. Stanley has had a couple of opportunities this year and he did nothing with those opportunities.

Change for the sake of change doesn’t address the core issues, there has to be a reason to make a change and a belief that a change will do improve things. Stanley hasn’t shown anything that should make anyone think he would improve matters right now.

  • @mayjay

Don’t you think that Coach Beaty knows which QB gives the team the best chance? He sees the players practice every day and he is aware of the strengths and weaknesses of every player, particularly the key ones. If he feels Bender gives KU the best chance then you have to assume that Stanley could actually be worse. Coach Beaty knows his job is on the line and he would be crazy not to play the better players. If he is not playing Stanley it is obvious he feels he would be worse. Just my opinion.

  • @3genhawk Nah, he claims to be older than me. That’s why I have to defend him when he goes to bed!

Lol ya they gave Houston a good run - -still proud of them, went furtherthis year then was expected it’s ok lol - -Time for Basketball now. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 Neither one of us is budging and the football team that’s on the field isn’t worth continuing to go back and forth about, no need to continue butting heads back and forth, if we both can’t admit that this team is really said then I can’t help ya - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 The Astro’s did look good Congrads. - -as far as the hissy - -umm not so much I don’t wear panties hissy’s is woman but thanks -have a great day. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 - -OK great you think Stanley sucks - - just like Bender sucks - -Then time for next man up - - the one that was suppose to be the perfect dual option QB for this so called air raid offense - Stanley isn’t getting it done -Bender sure in the hell isn’t getting it done - you guys have a seat - -move to the next option then, time for him to have his chance - -both Bender and Stanley ample opportunity now it’s time for the perfect as it was said dual option QB’S turn. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Can Stark play? How complex of a play action system do we have installed currently? Because if we can run the ball effectively and spin a ton of Play action off of it, the offense just might get going again. And the offense has to get going again or else the defense has no chance.

  • @jayballer54

Respectfully, you are missing the forest for the trees. The main problem with KU’s offense is not the QB, the main problems is the OL. You can play Tom Brady and it would still suck because he would be running for his life and not finding open receivers and when he does they do not catch the ball and the running game is equally as bad. Playing Stanley, who has not shown much to date and who the coaching staff obviously believes is not as good, will not solve the issue. Fix the OL first and then deal withe QBs.

Somewhat similar issue withe Chiefs where some want to blame Alex Smith, who has been very good, where the real problem is the defense that cannot seem to stop a pass it their lives depended on it.

  • @JayHawkFanToo I agree with you on that point. – Bottom line -the whole program is just a mess/shambles. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
