2026 Recruiting

I was surfing through this afternoon on the Rupp Board from UK seeing if they had anything on the latest for them with Stokes , ran across a thread where Joe Tipton had posted about Stokes.
. Tipton goes on their boars sometimes and answer questions and tells them he will answer any questions he can throughout the day, well anyways- - - -one of the questions was what he thought about their chances was with Stokes - -Tipton said they weren't as close as before and probably as they have ever been and said if he had to give a percentage it was probably like 9 % now.
Another poster ask if he thought the issue some of the reported issues Stokes has had , some of the problems that has been with Stokes was true , Tipton answered and said he really didn't want to get into Stokes issues publicly--problem child, he didn't say hat I did lol. I really don't think we would want all the baggage. We shall see I guess

We’ll be factors for Branch if Stokes goes elsewhere. He’s just on the back burner for right now
-
Only concern is Stokes drawing it out. Ideally you’d like to have a decision in the next few months.
-
@TYOHawk you’re 100% right. At some point you have to just pivot. To use a metaphor, if the lady you’ve been seeing for 6 months or whatever doesn’t want to commit you move on.
-
Stokes approaching it like a business I think. The downside of drawing it out could make the winning teams fans uneasy about your give a s***. It's a negative vibe until he displays his integration and some unselfish play. Now this is just how I might feel about him and it could be far from the truth.
-
Let me say this one more time , we DO NOT want or we shouldn't want Tryan Stokes brings with all the baggage that comes with him a true Cancer beyond doubt,
First he leaves school because of problems with fellow students --Now there is video of where he is in a game and trolling opponents students , every time he makes a bucket he feels the need to just troll and make an ass out of himself. Instead of focusing on the game. he makes a bucket he feels the need to slide dance just a lot of garbage. Needs a lot of growing up and mature a lot, just a bad look a very bad luck not worth it
-
Stokes is a talent you take and figure the rest out later.
-
@FarmerJayhawk horrible fit, time to grow up. Look like it's getting really bad, Lots of posters saying if Stokes getting all worked up when HIGH SCHOOL kids start working him over giving him fits, what's, he going to do when College kids really give it to him, gonna be bad.
Don't think we are going to have to worry about it though he ain't doming here
-
@ROCKCHALK2025 I wouldn’t be so sure about that
-
I’d listen to Farmer..
-
little FYI didn't know Darryn has played a grand total of 22 minutes this year-- -- crazy
-
I think the biggest change from the older college and NBA Is not the three point shot or not calling the game as close (it seems) but it is allowing dribblers to carry the ball. It's a different looking ball handling game when you can palm it.

I think that's the total at AFH. He's played on the road some and that would increase that number.
But a bar chart with total minutes played would not look good next to teammates' right now.
-
His Current total is 105 minutes. Surprisingly, it's more than Samis Calderon and Paul Mbiya have played combined so far (92).
-
@bskeet Ahhhh ok , so that makes more sense thought it was kinda screwy.
-
It's still a shocking stat for such a highly heralded recruit.... and disappointing to the home fans. But, always good to keep it in perspective.
In the spirit of perspective, I doubt many of us can recall how many minutes Remy played... but we ALL remember the clutch 3s and the trophy hoist.

It's a long season. Plenty of time for DP to leave his mark on the AFH floor (and more).

Deron Rippey Jr would have been a great fit in a KU uni but instead chose Puke. Kinney is no slouch by any means but the elite athleticism of Rippey would have been a sure-fire fit in KU's backcourt.

Yeah the writing was on the wall when KU took Kinney. Definitely not going to get both and didn't really pursue Rippey much but especially after that.
-
Yeah, it sure was. I'm just glad we were able to land one of the two because the drop off after them is rather substantial.
