An Appetite For Discussion And Ginger Lime Duck
-
lost 3 rebounds due to poor communication, thats not flat. That’s letting emotion get the best of you.
-
F Oregon! No damn class just like their punk ass coach.
-
@KUSTEVE this was a repeat of last year. We lost the same way. Did Bill watch the tape?
-
Having ZERO post presence was this teams undoing.
Self will never go 4 out 1 in again.
-
More than anything though: they hit shots under pressure
-
Damm. I wasn’t ready for this. I was sure we were a final four team this year. Heart breaker, really.
-
I was seeing it early first half already. Self sitting on the bench biting his nails… Tense ya know. Hate it but I think he was tight again and the guys were too. Not alot of other explanation for missing so many shots. Way below our season average
-
@DoubleDD It’s cragar’s favorite moment, where he gets to be smartest guy in the room. He feels like he won.
-
@kjayhawks Got outplayed just accept it & move gracefully & respectfully on to the remainder of life. Surely this loss by a mythical idol will not define anyone’s life? If so …??
-
@RockChalkinTexas Join us for Royals chat when the season starts. Don’t disappear on us cause we luv ya.
-
Not saying Oregon is the better team because they are not, but they played a better game and won, could be as simple as that. We are not entitled to the final four.
-
@globaljaybird I’m heartbroken.
-
-
@BigBad Udoka would have made a huge impact. We have been killed with injuries at inappropriate times. I am so glad I got to watch FM for all four years. He just couldn’t do it by himself.
-
-
@HawkChamp Yeah youre so effin smart you told us all so…Shoulda listened to you all along. Youre almost a genius …but not quite.
-
@Blown Hey, we made our FTs.
-
@KUSTEVE oh good. Another guy with a reading disability. Come over anytime. I’m happy to help with that if needed. As a fellow fan. Nothing but love for all my KU brethren
-
I’m just disappointed to lose in our own back yard. To be honest they wanted more than we did. They beat us in every single stat line some with ease. Bill Self never got this team to come out ready to play really all year. We lived bye the 3 all year and we definitely died bye it. Sad to see Frank go, even sadder his teammates didn’t care enough to hustle in the first have.
-
@jaybate-1.0 called this. Send em jacked game 1 and end up flat game 2. We’ve seen a lot of Jayhawk teams lose on cold shooting nights.

Yep you keep predicting KU losses
-
@approxinfinity Ya I think your right - - - your not going to win very many games shooting 5-25 fro 3pt range, pretty disappointing. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
DG airballing that shot right in front of the basket represents KU’s mindset the whole game.
-
-
@RockChalkinTexas I was thinking about Udoka too, when their classless painteater was having his way with us inside.
-
Heartbreaking loss. This stings to be sure. I just hope that Frank gets NPOY and that Josh gets picked in the top 3 of the draft.
-
I bet if you asked the players, they would take sole responsibility for the loss, and the last person they would blame is Self.
-
Frank and Graham shoot their avg we have 15 points.
Only really inexplicable thing I saw was the going inside to landen several times early. Made zero sense

The key is to be able to go between those styles based on personnel and talent.
-
FM still ridiculous though. Gonna suck without him next year. Hope he gets his due on the national honors
-
@Eric-san Your right you only have one winner - - the other 63 teams end their season on a loss. - -The one I really feel sorry for is Frank -where would we of been with out him in the 1st half. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
Clark Kellogg, screw you. “It’s very simple, the best team won”

@betterfireE just like Nova. Bill needs to swallow some pride and learn what he needs to do differently. The fan base isn’t happy with sweet sixteens. Come on guys
Alright expert, please tell us what HCBS needs to learn. Maybe you can email him and give him your expert analysis of why he fails.
-
I’m really more sad that I won’t get to watch FM and JJ, than losing in the E8 to be honest.
-
Oh well. I give up on being angry. Just sad.
-
Oregon played good defense on us. Thats why they won. We spent so much energy on defense in the second half without figuring out how to perform on the offensive front.
I miss having a shot-blocking big.
They look like a team that will win a championship.
Too much futzing around by KU. This loss wasn’t as bad as the VCU loss because aside from seeding, we weren’t THAT full of hubris.
That Jackson tip to the Oregon player at the end was when the game ended. Really wish Jackson had showed up tonight. The truth is he and Graham needed to be their absolute best tonight.

And injuries!
-
@kjayhawks but as much as anything, they hit shots.
-
-
@brooksmd it all goes back to preparation during the season. As you recall, I said that this team is soft and did not have a defensive mentality like what we saw against Nova and Oregon. Dont recruit small guards but get bigger ones that have girth. I love Frank and Devonte, but it made it tougher. Mario Chalmers/Russell Robinson types.
-
5-25 from 3 was a killer. Make at least 5 more of those, and you change momentum and possible outcome. Just not in the cards tonight, and OR played at their peak for about 35 minutes.
-
Two huge swings - at the end of the first half and not snaring the defensive rebound with a minute and a half to go when we had a chance to cut it to 5 or 4 and they hit a 3 to push it back to 9.
But, what is it about us that we seem to have all too many games like this - where we can’t make anything??? Going back to the Ariz game in 97 and the Syracuse game, among many others. Where otherwise good players just come up completely empty - Ellis last year and DG this year???
Is it something in the water??? I’m at a loss…
-
@approxinfinity You’ll feel better the next time your boy wins a game, your daughter brings home an “A”, or your wife winks & makes you smile. Tomorrow is just a new day in the off season. And we’re all still friends when it counts. Some never accept those things but that’s what makes it all worth while. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
-
@betterfireE good commentary. However, can’t underestimate 2 fouls on JJ early
-
@HawkChamp lol, you’re suggesting recruiting someone other than Frank, someone who is bigger. Please man, please.
-

Are you kidding me ??? Mason is the toughest guard we have ever had. KU lost this game because the shots didn’t fall. Plain and simple.
-
What did everyone say when Udoka went down with the injury? That the E8 or F4 was their ceiling. Having him throughout the season would have been huge. Just perspective.
-
This team went 31-5
They were good
Don’t kid yourselves
I fn HaTe waiting six months to watch Kansas come out of that northwest tunnel.
We are blessed to follow such a wonderful program
I love it so much that it hurts so bad.
-
@BigBad Loss of Udoka hurt.
-
This is the first time I ever remember not looking forward to next basketball season.
