Tonight's games

  • Anyone watching TCU @ home vs Okie state? KSUCK is trying very hard to play their way outta the NCAAs dropping now 6 of 7 with a home loss to ISU tonight in a game they they never lead or got closer than 6 points after the first 2 minutes. Not sure how they are in currently with the non conference SOS 266.

  • @kjayhawks KSU has an easier schedule, I believe, for the rest of the conference season. That might give them enough wins…but they are not helping themselves.

  • @Hawk8086 I agree but wonder if Weber is losing this club with home loses to ISU(baring the lucky turds hitting 20 3s) and TCU that’s big. They are Baylor not sleep walking thru the first half away from losing 7 of 7. It’s crazy to me that TT isn’t in, but they’re tied with KSU in the B12 standings with a better non conference SOS and overall record.

  • I’m watching Allen spraining his ankle tripping his self

  • @kjayhawks They are trying to get into the famed “Play Hard Chart” tournament. Everyone gets a trophy, and a lollipop.

  • Kansas St is not headed for the tourney the way they are playing having lost 6 of their past 7 games. Their schedule does get easier but what’s to say that is what turns it around… I do not feel bad for them.

Iowa St now has the same conference record as West Virginia. How is that possible when WVU seems like a light years better team.

Oklahoma St has won 7 of 8… Scary to think where they’d be if they had not lost the first conference games. They could win their last 5…

  • Kansas St hung this banner as well last night while playing ISU.

  • @BeddieKU23 Really, Really sad to be that consumed with ANOTHER school. I would for one as an K-State Alum not want something like this hanging in our arena. - -I mean how sad is this? - -Do they really have that huge of an inferoity complex of KU? I guess when you have no other type of banners to hang say as OH I dunno - -like maybe conference championship banners then THIS is what you do - -lmao - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54

they are fake. Just adding more fire to the mockery of the situation that Weber has created

  • But maybe they will have tshirts made!😉

  • Is Bruce Weber the interim HC, or the interim interim HC?

  • @kjayhawks

The Mildcats have better things to do than win basketball games… like… working on their “F-KU” chants.

  • I couldn’t help but notice there were empty seats. There pretty much always are everywhere in the league…except when they play us.

  • @BeddieKU23

ISU is the creeper team in the Big 12 this year. Everyone fell asleep on them while they continued to improve. It wasn’t a fluke what they did in AFH. 18 treys…

  • @drgnslayr

you mean to tell me it wasn’t a fluke that they lost the game right after beating KU @ Texas while shooting 9/25 from 3 land?

Iowa St has 5-6 seniors in its rotation with no front-court. 8-5 isn’t improbable but to have the same record as West Virginia who has been a consensus top 15 program all year seems improbable to me at this point

  • @drgnslayr

    that’s a good one!

  • @BeddieKU23

Me, too… but we can’t argue with results.

I think Huggybear needs another 10 guys or so on his bench to put that much pressure on for an entire season in order to prevent his guys from wearing down.

Yes, he plays a lot of guys, but he still counts on a core group, especially on offense. Ahmad is stepping up while some of the others seem to be wearing out.

This is a game of attrition.

ISU’s game is finesse to the point of trying to avoid any contact in games. Their guys look fresher than Huggy’s.

  • @drgnslayr

We definitely fell victim to the hottest shooting game by an opposing team in history at Allen Fieldhouse.

Burton/Long were en fuego from everywhere. Maybe the only game in Self’s history at Allen where I thought he was out-coached. We just stuck with M2M defense and didn’t even attempt to change how ISU was attacking us. It wasn’t like our offense struggled either. Game is in the past, kudos to ISU for sticking it to us.

With Huggy Bear we know that he’s masked not having top-talent with style of play. He’s gotten kids to play with unbelievable hacking effort and its worked. The law of averages says ref’s won’t call everything in hopes that trading FT’s for not exposing his talent deficit works. It’s genius because instead of maybe a Top 25 team sometimes, he’s a perennial now and he can recruit specific kids that other schools won’t compete for. The reason Ahmad is arguably their best player is because Ahmad was a top 50 kid coming into College. That he just flat out won against other big schools that wanted him.

  • @BeddieKU23

Yes… they got hot, but we didn’t help the situation with our lack of perimeter defense.

Contrary to whatever the buttheads on TV say… our Achilles heel this year is perimeter defense. We step up at times, but we haven’t been able to put two halves together, and rarely even one half.

I hope our guys are healthy. Hard to say concerning wear and tear, if the “nicks” are lasting or just something between games.

  • @drgnslayr

    Very good points.

Actually we could probably say our perimeter defense usually can’t even put 4 minute periods together. How many double digit leads have been blown in a matter of minutes, often before the next TV timeout even comes. It’s been very unexpected the perimeter struggles but the lack of depth and the way the game is being played hasn’t helped. The Big-12 is also very very guard heavy this year so KU faces quality guards every game.

  • @BeddieKU23

This is the first year of Jayhawk basketball where I really haven’t questioned our guys for having a lack of motivation. Bill feels the same. You can read on KUSports how he is treating this team different from past teams. He isn’t nitpicking the small stuff and staying on them about it. He’s focusing on staying positive with them.

  • @drgnslayr

Definitely his hand was forced into thinking/coaching/reacting differently. He’s got a 6’8 guard phenom acting like he’s a post player for sake. We took the Nova page and have made it work.

  • @drgnslayr Plus he can hardly bench someone for not playing defense…he’s only got one sub on the perimeter.

  • et al,

What does anyone expect out of a school that plays in a sod octagon?

Better they chant F@#$% KU, than stress their sheep.

  • @jaybate-1.0 So, for them, counting sheep at night is a tally?

  • @drgnslayr Ya ISU was a fluke no question to me they shot double their average from 3 and set a school record for most made. Granted we win still if we make Fts.
