Lunardi

  • Has KU, Baylor, zags, nova # 1 seeds

  • @Crimsonorblue22

Too much parity to have one game change much. KU lost to a very good WVU team, that happens to be a computer rankings darling, on the road. UCLA, the team many though was as close to unbeatable as it gets lost to Arizona at home and USC on the road in consecutive games now and sits in fourth place in the PAC 12.

  • @JayHawkFanToo I knew UCLA was massively over rated. They play zero defense. I will say this: I thought Arizona looked like a dominant team slapping around the UCLANS. Has Stubby Miller finally put it all together?

  • @KUSTEVE

I have to say that the Arizona-UCLA game had a ton of true future NBA players on the floor.

  • @KUSTEVE

I don’t know if I think they were massively over-rated. Their offense can run like a Swiss clock, but like you said, their defense was (and is) weak.

Think of it this way… they have one side of the ball figured out. If they can just become a reasonable defensive team over the next month they will be a tough out in March.

Remember how they became a top ranked team? They hung a loss on Kentucky at Lexington. Let’s see how we do on Saturday…

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Imo, KU is massively overrated. At this point, they should be lucky to land at a 3 or 4 seed.

  • The #1 seeds don’t necessarily always go to the best teams. They go to teams that take care of business in their own league. KU has won the Big 12 many many times in a row as we all know and that has resulted in a lot of 1 and 2 seeds. If we are fortunate enough to win the Big 12 again this year we will likely be a 1 or a 2 which is all you can ask for as it gives you the best chance of getting to the Final 4. Even if we lose to UK this weekend it is not a big deal. We just need to focus on winning the Big 12 and getting a solid draw that hopefully puts us in Kansas City in March.

    Rock Chalk!!!

  • @JayHawkFanToo ok, darling!

  • @Lulufulu

So… you are saying that there are 16 teams better than KU? I am curious, where would you place UCLA that has lost 2 in a row and now sits in in 4th place in its conference or Duke that has lost 3 of the last 4 and sits in 9th place in the ACC with 5 loses or Kentucky that has 3 loses including one to unranked Tennessee? You realize that KU has lost only 1 game in the last 19 games and it was to a team ranked in the top 10 in most polls and #2 by Sagarin and #3 by Pomeroy, right? I understand hyperbole but your comment takes the term to a whole new level…in my opinion, of course. SMH.

I was reading this in reverse order, so I cracked up wondering whose private thread I wandered into…!!!

Unfortunately, comma usage has destroyed my hope for a romantic comedy!

“happens to be a computer rankings darling,” versus “happens to be a computer rankings**,** darling,”

  • @mayjay sarcastic, darling!

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Oh crap…the #1 seed curse. I don’t know what it is about that, but it always seems to hit just right before or right after some kind of stupid incident: loss, player issue, suspension, or something.

I’m really having a hard time believing any of the guys had anything to do with this rape, 16 yrs old? Geesh

  • @JayHawkFanToo Dang…I thought with Doke we were a pretty solid 1. Then I thought maybe Bragg would step up, nope. Now we are looking at Coleby and Lightfoot. I want to be totally wrong and hope one or both of these guys prove me completely wrong, please make a believer out of me coming out of this game on Saturday.

  • @Lulufulu Dang it…I hate to admit it, but you’re right. At this point, we will be fairly fortunate at a 2. But we still have a lot of conference to play.

  • @joeloveshawks True and it’s so early, who knows at this?

  • @JayHawkFanToo

Solid logic on your challenge to @Lulufulu 's comment about where Kansas belongs in March.

But I think @Lulufulu based his post on his gut and emotions right now. At times, I think just about all of us feel like our guys are completely overrated by how they are playing at that moment. Sometimes I don’t even see a Top 20 team. But then there are the other times…

There are a lot of frustrated fans right now. Feeling a bit down and shocked after Morgantown, and scared to death about Lexington.

Right now I FEEL the post of @Lulufulu while I THINK your post.

My brain, heart and gut have been feuding for a while now…

  • @Crimsonorblue22 I just saw the Lunardistrator on ESPN. All this couldn’t have happened at a more off time. Mason, Graham, Jackson, Svi, Vick, and LL need to step up to the challenge. I’d like to think we have experience. The only variable is Frank’s knee. I know and many of you know that Self always down plays injuries. If Frank’s knee is not 100% Saturday or the rest of the season, look out. I have that feeling at the end of the season, Self will give one of his revelations that Frank’s knee bothered him for the majority of this season. This Saturday is going to be about who is hungry and who is more experienced on a big stage.

I didn’t forget about Lightfoot and Coleby either. They must step up and have a breakout game. I’d like to see Lightfoot show his potential and why he was recruited by KU. Bragg is really hurting this team and it pains me to say that because I love the kid.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 I know. I was laughing at how I interpreted it by not knowing what came before… Funny after tropical drinks!

  • @drgnslayr

Look at how other teams a lot deeper than KU have fared. Duke has had injuries but they have plenty of depth and yet they have dropped like a rock, Creighton lost its top player and drop its two last games to unranked teams, the last one to Georgetown by 20 points. Indiana…their season went down the proverbial crapper and now has 7 losses. KU has remained remarkably steady and the loss at WVU, although painful, was not necessarily unexpected…most of us thought KU would likely lose at WVU, Baylor and probably one or two more so KU is still in good shape.

No question the loss of Bragg hurts KU seriously but it still is a very good team and not one…that would be lucky to get a 3 or 4 seed. KU does not need luck to be a 1 or 2 seed at this time, it has earned that seed and one loss will not make me belittle the team.

  • @mayjay don’t want to hear about tropical, please? You still there?

  • @Crimsonorblue22 40 more hrs. Ready to go! Exhausting living with people for 2 wks!

  • If Self has a plan for 4.5 out and .5 in, now would be the time to put it to work.

  • @JayHawkFanToo

    Yes, sir!

  • @JayHawkFanToo Yeah man, i was actually being a debbie downer at that moment.

Considering that we lost Bragg now, extremely new news to me, Im not sure we are good enough for sweet 16.

guess it depends on how long Bragg is out.

I’ll ask again, WTF did he do!?

  • @Lulufulu just a guess it has something to do w/ drugs. Total guess! Heard he posted a pic. RUMOR wait to hear
