It also sounds like there is only enough $ for a Miller type + Stokes. The rest will have to be filled with PWO types. Yikes

Grant Mordini is one of those. Visits Monday

      I’m half asleep…what’s a PWO type?

@rockchalkjayhawk preferred walk on is nomenclature used in football. Basically just filling out the back end of the roster with cheap players. Walk-ons no longer exist and everyone gets a scholarship now.

          Ahh yea, gotcha. Thx. Zzz.

This is not sounding promising! I hate the new era…

Spending 50% of your budget on a top 5 Freshman hasn't worked. See KU, BYU.

Thankfully Stokes would be around 25%, but it's still a lot.

@DCHawker because the best players from other schools and conferences are going to the NBA.

Stokes is likely committing to Kentucky tomorrow. I think we need to start looking into backup plans. McNeil from NC State is interesting

                    We'll see tomorrow @jayhawk_69 -- maybe.
Pretty much everybody sees it as a two horse race: KU and Kentucky.
Both teams pretty desperate for a top NIL signing?
So, let the bags of cash lead him one direction or the other...

I don't have an issue with not landing Stokes, just the way this has played out. Should have told him at the beginning of the portal process what our offer was and indicated that if wasn't willing to commit then, we would move on - which we should have done a long while ago. The only HS recruit that could justify 25% of high major NIL budget is a generational talent - and there is no indication Stokes is that.

@Jayhawk_69 don’t listen to anyone except Tyran on committing or a timeline. Almost no chance he does it without announcing a date and setting up a whole dog and pony show with CBS or ESPN

                          sounds about right.

I can see the ESPN promos now ... and now, sponsored by Purina Dog Chow ... the Tyran Stokes commitment show!

The issue is that this was supposed to be regulated but it basically hasn’t been. Collectives aren’t supposed to exist anymore.

                            Whole thing is a mess.

I don't think the NCAA is wise to step into regulating private NIL. The lawsuits will come and I don't see how this is their jurisdiction of control.

I smell a run! (better buy more toilet paper)

I feel certain the Stokes decision will come down this week. Both UK and KU... the loser loses bigger now as the options dwindle.
