  My prediction for the season (Based on just my own musings) is that self widdles down his bigs to four by the end of the season and two of the 6 get turned into spot minute players with a minimal role, especially in close games. Self will keep playing all the bigs against nonconference chumps but not when it comes to the big games. Which two of the six though? Perry, Cheick, and Bragg will get minutes this year, he’s not keeping those boys out even though the freshman have to develop. Some combo of Lucas, Jamari and Mickelson will be seeing a lot more bench time. Self has a soft spot for Jam but I’m guessing Jam and Mickelson lose out this season, and it’s really unfortunate that upperclass bigs with a lot of heart will have to lose out. Just my $0.02, as we all know Self likes an 8-9 man rotation, althought I doubt we see less than a 10 man rotation in any game this year. RCJH. PS- good thing Self is the one getting paid to make the tough decisions and not me. Although, if you gave me a coupla million, I wouldn’t mind making those tough decisions either

  I like what I’m seeing out of Graham. He is a throwback Bill signing. The type of kid that is in the middle of the pack that he coaches up and gets them o play at a 5 star level. That’s not to discount our one and done guys but guys like Graham, Ellis, TRob, Withey, Releford, etc will always mean more to me because of their length of time in LFK.

  @JayHawkFanToo I doubt WVU will shoot that poorly against us, especially in Morgantown which they have won the last 2 meetings. Losing Staten was huge for having that go-to leader. Their guards really rebound just like last year so if our rebounding doesn’t start to improve that’s another area of concern when playing them. I remember them getting all their missed shots in their win last year against us. They really are just a gimmick team, high reward, high risk situation that Huggins has created. Williams scares me especially if Diallo hasn’t ascended to starters minutes when we play them.

  @justanotherfan You do realize that when KU plays a game that there is another team on the court whose primary concern is to stop us from doing what we want. In the Harvard game they committed numerous turnovers in the first half. Some of that was because of our defense and some of it was to to poor decision making by Harvard. They tightened up their play in the second half. Some of that had to do with our defense and some due to the fact that Harvard does have a coach who probably emphasized taking care of the ball. It is turnovers and defensive rebounds that trigger a faster pace. We all know what happened as far as rebounding is concerned. Tonight we play a team that runs an offense that is designed to slow down the pace. That is different that what UCLA and others that we have played run. You stated that this is a team that is designed to play fast. Who do you think designed the team? Where did you see Self indicate that he wants to slow down the pace? I haven’t heard that in any of the interviews nor in articles quoting him.

  My god, he’s still one of the strongest, most beautiful dunkers I have ever seen play the game. It looked like he was dunking on some guy from K-State instead of an NBA player. He is just an awesome talent still looking for a team with the right slot for his talents. I hope its Brooklyn. Any team with Brooklyn on the jersey is a place where Thomas could become a mega star if the players and coach align with him.

  i think the disparity was due to KU only dropping a few places in the AP poll after losing to Mich St but in the Coaches Poll they dropped to the bottom of the top 10?
