It’s just a matter of how much weight we each give to “the single greatest run of dominance in major college sports history,” Again, if there were just a bit more achievement this century there would be less doubt. Similarly, I weigh Embiid’s brief shining moment more heavily than others, even if it was cut short.

  @HighEliteMajor I understand your perspective and the point you are trying to illustrate. However, being superior at your professional craft does not mean you don’t suck as a human being. Another example: O.J. Simpson–Hall of Fame football player. Sucks. I’m not agreeing, nor disagreeing that Pitino sucks. He’s obviously an outstanding college basketball coach. It could be argued that he did suck as a NBA Coach. Guess it is all about from which perspective you want to approach it.

  @RockChalkinTexas I think I’m in section 61. I know it’s upper level because that’s all that was left at the time. I’m not sure yet what time I’ll get into Austin because I’m not going to drive up Friday night after work. I’ve done the party at Scholz before, not sure if I’ll make it this year or not.

  If you’d asked me which team we’d have the best record against in the streak (besides colorado and nebraska) I’d not have guessed Baylor. Maybe I’m thinking conference tournament losses, but it’s surprising, and impressive, that we’ve lost to them only 1 time. Of course knowing the coaching advantage we have in that matchup, maybe it isn’t too surprising!

  @dylans Agree. He will need to play AAU ball for better evaluations. He is tiny right now, but then again he is 14/15. I have friends around Wichita so if he becomes really big time I’ll definitely head down there to check him out while visiting.

  Can’t see Crean lasting this time around. Wonder what will happen to the roster full of Fresh to Jr’s… Bryant didn’t come back for this. Injuries have really hurt them but their play is so uninspiring on defense

  @Statmachine At great birthday gift for Devonte will be an upsurge in his play from now through the first week of April! Thought he hustled harder in the Baylor game, just had a bad shooting game. If he had hit some shots, his stat sheet would have matched his effort level. I have no doubt that Devonte is the key to our success moving forward. He gives us the dynamic “three amigos” on the perimeter… which could develop into the toughest hombres in March. Who can stop that? Devonte also has “the magic.” He has the ability to come up with insane plays. Having “magic” in March is HUGE!

  @HawkInMizery Yeah! That was the only Big 12 tournament I’ve had the pleasure of attending. We went to almost all the games. (I missed one of the early round games of OU) It was awesome to see all the different fans. It’s a completely different experience than you get at any one of the college’s bb courts. The fan base is 50%KU, 20%KSU, 20%ISU, 5%Oklahoma schools, 3%Texas, 2%the rest (including lost MU fans). I recommend getting whole session tickets, as opposed to just going to the KU games. It’s a lot of good basketball. The crowd is the best for the KU games, but it’s fun to watch crowd as well as the game. It’s amazing how different fan bases can see a game.
