  Brunson has had a great, DG has to snap outta his shooting slump, like on Sunday. DG I believe to be the most important player for a single team in the gam ethics season. I was impressed the guys held a solid lead with him sitting twice for a few moments, first time all yea did believe. Clemson got a very favorable whistle IMO, Doke and DG both had 2 fouls that were nothing short of laughable. The only call we got was when they tied up Newman and got a foul call instead, other than that I thought they got all the calls that could’ve gone ether way.

  He played great with his career high of 31, was the main reason it wasn’t an absolute massacre. Should’ve been anyways if we made fts and didn’t run clock with 10 minutes to go. He’s a solid player but I disliked how much trash he seemed to talk being down bye double digits most the game, it looks pretty dumb to run your hole and fire up the team that is already spanking you.

Interesting quote: When Mykhailiuk gets an unguarded spot-up attempt, KU scores 1.75 points per possession, according to Synergy Sports Technology. That ranks No. 1 in the nation among players with at least 50 tries. Compare that to Dok, who has the highest shooting percentage in the nation (77.5%). When he shoots, KU scores 1.55 points per possession. An open Svi has a higher payoff, on average.

  @Lulufulu I agree. He was not at peak before the impact. After, he appeared unable to clear the cobwebs fully. We are in some trouble if he has a concussion, which is how it appeared. Again, it took Malik 2-3 games to really recover from his apparent concussion. We may not see the real Devonte again until the Finals, if we make it that far. This team has faced so much adversity!!! It is just amazing. If it wins the Carney, it has to go down as tied with the '88 champs as the most remarkable team in KU history. I’m even tempted to say its more remarkable, because the '88 team had Danny Manning as the hub and Manning was one of the 50 greatest collegiate basketball players of the second half century of the game. This team is somehow doing it without a Manning. These players are really, really admirable and special in the character department. And it is a reminder to us all that you cannot judge a book by its cover. I can remember when many of us, me included, were doubting this teams’ toughness. Even if they lose the next game, this team will rank in my memory as one of KU’s toughest ever. I don’t recall another KU team overcoming this much adversity without a single superstar on the team. They are just the most amazing bunch of individuals I have had the pleasure to watch play the game in a long time. I so hope they can become champions, so that their incredible accomplishments so far, will be etched in memory for all time.

  To win it all KU will have to beat Clemson first and then likely Duke, Villanova and Kentucky. That would be quite a run.

  Just about every team has one game where it plays well above and the opponent well below their averages; the OU game this season that KU won by 30 comes to mind. I have no doubt KU is a better team than OU but, is it 30 points better? Can we keep Young to 3-13 and 11 points considering that in the first game he was 7-9 in route to 26 points? Probably not. The other game that comes to mind is against UNC in the NCAA in 2008 when KU led by as many as 28 points in route to an 18 point win. Was KU 28 or even 18 point better than UNC? Probably not. KU had to hang on for dear life the previous game against lowly Davidson and there was no reason to believe it would blow out UNC, and we know how the next game went…OT win over Memphis. Last year KU put together and impressive streak of 38, 20 and 32 point wins against UC Davis, Michigan State and Purdue only to take a 14 point loss to Oregon, this is a 46 point swing between the previous win and the final loss. It happens. The Clemson-Auburn game was one of those games, “Perfect Storm Good” for Clemson and “Perfect Storm Bad” for Auburn. If these teams play more games, I would bet the rest are all within 5+/- points. There is no reason or precedent to believe Clemson will repeat what it did against Auburn or that KU will play dead for most of the game like Auburn did. In fact, it is more likely that Clemson will have a let down and KU will win big. Analysts love to make outrageous predictions because there is little downside to it. Seth Davis predicting Penn would beat KU had zero downside for him, if Penn would have won he looks like a friggin’ genius and it KU wins nobody really remembers his prediction because KU was supposed to win anyway. I read that more people took Penn over KU than any other 16 over a 1 seed ever and I understand that Clemson is now the trendy pick over KU as well… A lot of the disrespect is no doubt fueled by the East Coast MSM that cannot believe good basketball can be played outside of the East Coast. Funny how Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, that are NBA analysts and have not done a college basketball this season before the tournament that I can remember are now the experts on teams they do not follow and at times seem to be grossly unfamiliar. In short, you can get better information about KU and the conference here than you can from just about any other source…of course Trae Young being the exception since ESPN is his official publicist.
