  @wrwlumpy Unless I missed something big, the line opened (that is the very first line announced) at 17 points and currently sits at 15-1/2 consensus (average of all the lines). I doubt it will change more than 1 point between now and game time; there is no way it goes down to 10,

  @JayhawkRock78 Your mission is most definitely to talk to Ray, if he is still with us, or his son, if not. This use of the three point basket is the earliest I have heard of. I recall the games with the 12 foot baskets. But I never knew they played with the FGs counting 3.

  I posted something about recruiting services and their ranking of players the other day that I caught while listening to Chris Childers and Greg McElroy. Here’s my post for those that missed it: This has nothing to do with KU recruiting but about a week or so ago I was listening to XM College Sports Nation and I want to say it was the Chris Childers show w/ Greg McElroy. Anyways they were talking about how bad the ranking system are. They said what the ranking system in football really breaks down to is this: 5star guys are NFL locks, guys that scouting services are pretty certain will be playing on Sundays. 4star guys are those that scouts think are All-Conference players. And the 3star guys are starters on the their team. 2star guys are 2deep, for depth. McElroy also said that just because a guy is a 3 star doesn’t mean they aren’t or can’t be great. He, Sam Bradford, Christian Ponder, Colin Kaepernick and Andy Dalton were all 3 star guys in '06. What I got from their statements is this. It’s not about getting every 5star guy or even just focusing on 4stars, it’s about developing those 3stars guys that we do get. There are only 18 5star guy this year so to think we can start pulling any of those is crazy thinking and we shouldn’t determine recruiting Ws and Ls by stars alone. What we as fans can hope for is to pick up some 4star guys in those places that we need as well as 3star guys that fit our style and needs. We don’t need seven 4star RBs that make our class appear better than it is. What we need is quality coaching of the players that we do get and have so we can develop them into better football players that contend with the rest of the BCS schools. And hopefully Beaty and Co. can do just that.

This game was played within about a 10-12 point spread – meaning Baylor’s largest lead was about 8 points and our largest lead was 3 or 4. Winning tight games on the road often means you’ve stolen a gem from the opponent.

  @JayHawkFanToo Numbers never lie, but after watching the game and several others. Reality says to me Ellis gets pushed around like a kid brother. All I’m saying is he shouldn’t be the go to guy. Let him do his thing but in spurts.

  @BeddieKU23 I agree Baylor has done well. Next to KU, Baylor probably has had the most talent in the League in the last 5-1o years, no question a result of Drew’s recruiting; however, all it has to show is one tie for 2nd place in the conference in all this time…kind of makes you go hmmm…doesn’t it?

  @justanotherfan A missed FT against Kentucky really hurt us last year. This year, we’re a year older, but generally Kentucky is not. UW is shooting lights out from 3 land this year (except last night!) and playing their usual stout defense. I know Kentucky would be favored but they don’t want to play us again.

  @HighEliteMajor Texas shot 28% from trey on 21 treys. Texas shot 30% from due on probably 45 2ptas. Hello, Rick, you should have shot 45 fewer 2 ptas and 45 more treys and you probably would have been in the game at the end. And if you had shot 45 more 3ptas you probably would have shot your way out of your 3pt slump and averaged something closer to 30-35% on treys. Bingo! You might have won. New rule: Never, never, never, never, never, keep shooting inside when your FG% falls below 45%. Oh, what the hell, I’ll be conservative. Say 40%. JUST STOP YOURSELF. SHOOT TREYS INSTEAD.
